Hey everyone! I'm getting married July 7, 2012! This date is very popular on these boards! I was just wondering where brides getting married in my same month are at in their wedding planning process :) I have booked my chapel ( USAF Academy chapel...so it is a good thing we booked so early). I bought my dress and picked the bridesmaids dresses also! Asked my girls to be bridesmaids and also my maid of honor..Have the reception venue in place..have a design concept and just started the invitation process! I picked my lighting and design company and photographer but have not set a date with them.. But I am starting to feel pretty accomplished!

My wedding is 07/14/2012!  I booked my reception venue and have my STDs ready to be printed!  I'm in the process of looking for a photographer, and hope to have one booked by next week!  I ordered my centerpieces on etsy!  I'm still trying to get more ideas from the bridal fairs I've gone to/am going to this month!

    congrats to you all! :)

Yay I'm so glad you 2012 brides are so organised- not just me who's wedding obsessed already! Wink

I'm 22nd July 2012- I'm a teacher and that's the first weekend of our summer holidays here in the UK- if it was going to be 2012 it had to be ASAP into our summer. (Or what passes for a summer here!)

    So far I've booked/ bought...

    Church

    Gospel Choir

    Registrar

    Venue

    DJ

    Photographer

Videographer (family friend of my future in-laws)

    Dress

    Hairpiece

    Veil

    Florist

    Photobooth

    Table numbers

    Place cards

And am 3/4 the way to completing my framed family wedding- pic display!

Hoping one little project at a time will make the time go faster.  Plus best get it done as we go along or it's a lot of time/money/ stress all at the last minute!

Is it just me or does it feel great to now say your wedding is 'next year' now that 2011 has rolled around? Yay!

@FutureMrsMaher: LOL its funny that you mention it, on new years day..after we kissed. .i reminded my FI that we will be getting married next year! Its awesome! I have seen some 2011 brides not as lets say....intense as we are so far.. But I totally agree.. start taking things off the list little by little so at the end we are not as stressed.. there is enough to worry about with having everything booked and paid for already!

@SweetCheeks: LOL people usually are engaged for a year right? So even if you don't start until July you should be on track! Personally, I am trying to spread out the expenses so its not one lump sum coming up to the end!

    You ladies are really impressive!

I'm getting married on July 21 and so far I have the venue (OK, that was an easy one since I always knew I was going to get married at my parents place!), the priest, the dress and the veil and the photographer... And I am still fighting with my theme...

you all are so advanced in the process! My FI just proposed to me about a week and a half ago. We just had our engagement photos taken on the beach in Santa Barbara, CA yesterday!

So far, we've started the guest list, made a budget, and set a date for July 28th, 2012. We have a venue picked out for the reception but not for the ceremony. And I have a very general idea of my decoration scheme (by that I mean, I kinda sorta have decided on wedding colors).

My FI graduated from college last year and I am in the last year of my bachelor's degree. So, planning while in school is super hard!

@Ms. Meowerson: No, I go to school at UCSB but I am graduating in June. Most of our family is from Bakersfield, so we will be having our wedding back home. My FI's family owns a beautiful home, where we are having our reception. You are so lucky to have your wedding in SB! If only I could afford it!!!

Wow some of you are unbelievable. I am still gathering all my ideas of what I THINK I want for the big day. You guys are impressive. I would be scared taht I would change my mind or see something even more spectacular tha I just HAVE to have. I can understand having a venue, date and church and a checklist , but a dress, ring pillow and any other decor or DIY stuff done, that is just not for me. My hat is off to you ladies. Keep up the good work.

Ladies, you are making me feel lazy! All I have is the church, the reception location, the transportation from the church to the reception and tentetavly a photographer. I always thought I had plenty of time for other things. The one thing I can't wait for is dress shopping!!!! I live in another state than my family and just can't go dress shopping without my mom and sister/MOH.

    July 20th, 2012!

    • We just booked our venue today! I'm so excited about that!
    • We have started meeting with photographers, florists, and bakers.
    • We have our color scheme picked out: ruby red, black, and white.
    • We have a good idea of who our officiant will be.
    • We have our favors picked out, were just waiting on our date to be finalized (now it is!)
    • I have already purchased my bridesmaids gifts.
    • We know exactly what kind of cake we want.
    • I have my wedding rings picked out.
    • We announced our bridal party.
    • I know the style of dress I want. Probably won't go looking until about 9 months ahead of time.
    • Our caterer is part of our venue, so that's booked.
    • We have our toasting glasses and cake cutting set.
    • We have our flower girl basket, ring bearer pillow, and guest book & pen.
    • Invitations and Save-the-Dates are picked out.
    • Centerpieces are picked out (DIY)

I just feel like we still have so much left to do! Every vendor I meet with is extremely impressed that we're starting planning this early. I always tell them that we are trying to spread the costs out so we aren't losing a big chunk of change at once. Plus, I don't want to end up in a fight for vendors!

I feel so relieved! My family and friends makes me feel crazy for wanting to be on top of the planning.  THANK GOODNESS I now know I'm not the only one!

    - Got the venue (which also includes the catering, dj, florist, cake)

    - found my dress

    - found the invitations we want, and figured out the wording we like

    - book photographer and engagement session

    - pretty much chose the BM dresses

    - chose our main color (blue or some shade)

I def agree with spreading the costs and the time. I have been able to book vendors and times when I want because I am early enough.

I'm not sure what else I can do since the wedding is so far out. When should I send out save-the-dates? This July?

@apitcher2bee: I'm wondernig about that too! I'm a June 2012 bride, and we already have our ceremony and reception venue booked. I feel like a year out is a good time to send save the dates? But is that too early, even?

As much as I don't want to admit it, it does feel too early to send out save-the-dates a year in advance. I'm afraid people are going to look at it and go "what!? a year away?" then throw it into a stack of mail and forget about it a few months after they get it. Besides, who is really planning that far ahead other than us crazy/impatient brides? I would say it is probably best to send it out after the first of the year.

@NanaimoBar: I will be sending out my STDs this july. I am having a DW.. so I want to give people ample time to prepare... I will also be sending out my invites like 4-5 months in advanced. I don't think there is anything wrong with that! STDs get the thought into our guests heads to PREPARE! lol

I'm so exited! This weekend we finalized a lot of planning! We now have our ceremony location and priest, reception venue (includes catering), photographer, DJ, wedding bands picked out, centerpieces picked out, invitations picked out, bridesmaid dresses pciked out, and what's had me smiling all weekend, I got my dress!!!! Laughing  It feels good to have the big things out of the way.   I'm moving to MI  in June but we're going to be having the wedding in VT so we definitely wanted to have these things taken care of while I was still here in VT.  I'm SOOO excited! I wish we could just have the wedding this summer!! :)
