    What about you?

@seg31085: Agreed! I'm at 9w 3d, and am anxiously awaiting my 2nd tri! Only a few weeks to go. =)

Been feeling a little nauseous the past few evenings, right around dinner time. However, still no sickness yet *fingers crossed it stays that way*.

How's everyone else been feeling this week?

I've been okay this week.  I've had a lot of bloating and gas which always seems to result in some nausea and always makes me uncomfortable.  I'm still exhausted all the time but right now it's not helping that it's been cloudy/rainy for about four days straight.

I'll be 10 weeks on Saturday and I can't wait to get to the end of the first trimester.  We wanted to wait longer to tell more people but we're considering sending out Christmas cards to announce it that'll hopefully arrive on the 23rd or 24th.  I actually could wait but someone in our close family will tell on Christmas Eve at my husband's grandparents' house anyway.  We won't be there and we'd rather be the ones to tell people.

You'd probably think they would listen to "Don't tell" but it'd probably slip out and my BIL and his wife announced it to the world at 4 weeks (on Facebook immediately after calling immediate family) so they already think we've waited super long and his dad has this complex of not understanding why other people wouldn't tell early when he would.  It's not fun, but it's also not something I want to argue with people about around Christmas.  Everything seems to be going well anyway so we'd just like to beat them to the punch.

We're thinking of telling all our friends on Christmas Day via Facebook.  I will be 12 weeks then.     I am torn on the fb thing but I think it's the best way to tell everyone at once. I am thinking of changing my profile picture to a bun in an oven.  I'm sure some will get it right away, others may take some time. Has anyone else told via Facebook or plans to?

@panterapeach: We thought about it.  We figured we'd send out the cards.  And I'm thinking of changing my status on Christmas Day to something about it and maybe posting the first ultrasound picture.  I'm also thinking of letting everyone get their cards and I know some of them will congratulate us on Facebook and then announcing that it is true once I reach 12 weeks.

@panterapeach: My DH and I were just talking about this and I'm hoping to never "officially" post it on facebook. We told our families last weekend (10 weeks) and we are going to start telling friends in person/over the phone this week. I figure it will leak to FB eventually, but I always feel a little weird when I see people's ultrasound pictures up there so I am going to try my best to avoid it. But to each her own. That said, I love the "bun in the oven" picture idea! Much less direct, but people will catch on eventually.

@panterapeach: Sorry to butt in on the convo but I love following you ladies! Just wanted to share that I had a friend who took a picture with her DH and a can of "Prego" spaghetti sauce and posted it as their profile pictures. It was cute and totally corny, but it took some people a little bit to catch on!

@NYC.BOS.CHI: Oddly enough I think ultrasounds are a bit tame with some of the people I know.  Like I said, my BIL and his wife announced it on Facebook the day they took the test when she would have been four weeks, maybe even a little under.  They also posted the picture of the positive pregnancy test and went ahead and started a whole photo album.  That was a bit much to me, especially so early.

Plus, we're pushed to put a lot on Facebook since we live so far away so we'll probably post one picture from each ultrasound.

Hubby and I were talking about this last night since we have our first doctor's appointment this afternoon. I want to show the ultrasound picture with a caption of "Merry Christmas to us!" or "The best Christmas present ever"--something sweet. Hubby wants to wait until our tacky Festivus party at some friends house and post a picture of him with a beer and me with milk or orange juice and say something along the lines of: Here I am with my wife and DD. I'm drinking beer and she's drinking orange juice, Why? Oh, yeah, because she is pregnant. THat's right I said it. Boom.

    My husband is so weird.

@MrsMaine: That is a super cute way to announce!  Unique too, I've never seen it before.

We're planning on telling family as we see them over the holidays - siblings first, then grandmothers/aunts/uncles all together on Christmas.  Will be over 10 weeks by the time we see my family (am 9w2d today).  But we're going to ask them not to spread it outside that group until after my next appointment which is almost 13 weeks.  I think after that I will tell everyone else and not have anyone keep it quiet anymore.  Luckily my family is fine at keeping secrets to themselves!

As for facebook, I don't think I'll put anything on there until I've either got a big bump and I'll change my profile pic to me rocking that, or else when we find out the sex maybe.  I'd rather not tell the entire facebook world for awhile, just my personal preference.

What exciting news we all get to share this holiday season!!

Thank you ladies for the sweet messages from my appointment yesterday.  I am still on cloud 9.

We have told our immediate families and very closest friends early on.  At christmas time we are going to tell our more extended families and close friends since we will be 10 weeks then.  I won't put anythign on facebook or out to all friends until the middle of Jan, that will be after the first trimester and after my 2nd appointment.

I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow. I've been soooooo sick the last 2 days when we called the dr today(came home early from work) they called in a perscription. I haven't been this sick at all ever. Like I said, can't wait for the 1st trimester to be over and hopefully it won't continue for much longer!!

BTW, husband already posted the good news on FB. Didn't matter to me, I was sick of hiding me sick. lol

@seg31085:  I have had awful all day sickness as well.  Just a PSA for the prescription if you are using Zofran. I am using it and it is amazing to have a moment without constant nausea.  Just be careful.  It can cause insane constipation.  Be sure you handle it early or it can get bad.  Milk of magnesia, fiberone bars, and fruit have helped me a little but seriously there is no NORM again while on it.  Also, I found taking the whole pill too be kinda harsh on my stomach so I cut a pill in half and use it that way.  I hope you find some relief.  Despite the side effects it is a godsend when you are projectile vomiting up to 12 times a day.

loving everyone's xmas ideas, we will be telling our immediate family on xmas but wait until a little later to tell others.  I totally feel you ladies on the nausea it is kicking my butt and I can't complain to anyone but DH lol my job has me constantly on my feet as well so I feel like I get no rest, I have been trying to lay down for a half hour after work but feel guilty when my DD wants to play.  SO I am trying to juggle everything and feeling sick is not fun.  I lost a couple pounds from not eating as much, hoping this is ok :) Also anyone else not engaging in "sexy" time with their DH's, I feel so bad but I just can't right now :(

We are surprising our parents on Christmas Day and can't wait to do it!  We had our first ultrasound yesterday (heard the heartbeat, it was so amazing and I am totally in love!) and she gave us extra pictures to share and even wrote "Hi Binky and Nana" on one for my parents.  She was so sweet.  My DH's extended families will be at those respective celebrations so the word will get out quick.  We're ok with that though since we'll be right around 10 weeks.  We probably won't announce it more publicly or via facebook until sometime in mid-January.  I probably won't tell work until then either.  That is what I'm wrestling with most.

I realize I don't actually have a baby bump yet at 9 weeks, but is anyone else finding their normal jeans/pants uncomfortable.  They fit fine but where they sit on my belly I find really uncomfortable.  I am living in yoga pants this weekend for this very reason.  I am wondering if I should invest in a bellaband, maternity pants, or just suck it up.

@miss.skinner: I hear you!  I bought a couple of pairs of maternity pants at old navy and am soo glad I did!  I bought the ones that go under your belly so they are kind of fake maternity pants but have an elastic waistband. I find it hard to wear my normal pants now that I have these.  Warning you will probably need a belt at this stage but unlike many maternity pants they have belt loops and have worked out great.

I am 11 weeks and think I need to get a bellaband or find some other maternity pant options soon since my regular pants aren't really cutting it anymore.  I can wear them but definitely not comfortable.

@miss.skinner: I just bought a pair of maternity jeans and I'm almost 9 weeks!  I never thought I would need them this early, but my other pants were just digging into my belly when I sat down.  I got a pair from Target that are the 'under belly' kind that just have an elastic on the sides, and they are heaven :)  Even if I can't wear them when I'm big big, it's totally worth the $ to have a go to pair of nicer pants for the next few months.  I think this is them:

P.S. I'm not sure why these look so highwater on the model! They're actually plenty long on me.

@miss.skinner: My jeans/pants don't fit either.  So I've broken down and bought some pants and jeans in larger sizes.

@mjameson83: I bought a bella band and I'm not a fan.  I guess it just weirds me out to have my pants unzipped all day.  I'm weird though.  My friend swears by her bella band.

I'm so excited, I have a doctors appointment friday, then we are heading to GA on friday and I get to tell my parents the news in person.  It's been so hard keeping this a secret, but I really wanted to tell my parents in person.  We actually got shirts for our dogs/furbabies that say "Pedro is going to be a big brother" and "Templeton is going to be a big sister."  Pedro is our chihuahua and Tempy is our pomeranian.  Hopefully my parents get it and don't think we are getting another dog.

Just wanted to check in! I have my first appointment tomorrow and I'm so scared! I'm so afraid that I'm going to hear bad news:( What comforts me is that everything's been normal so far (no spotting...etc). I'll be 9 weeks and 4 days and I'll make sure to update all of you when I get home!

P.S. Is anyone else really veiny? I've discovered new veins on my bb's, but the inside of my elbows are crazy! Oh, my stomach is bloated and looks really weird! Ah!

@JewishBride: I am sure everything will be fine.  I can relate with you though.  My first appointment was last week and honeslty I dont think it really set in until I saw the ultrasound. I needed that in order to feel like it was okay to think ahead and be excited for this.  I will be saying a little prayer for you tonight.  Here is to happy sticky baby dusty.  :-)

Okay ladies.  Merry Christmas to me.  I just went on Old Navy online and purchased a pair of jeggings, leggings, and work pants.  Fingers crossed i like them.  I just cannot take my normal pants anymore.  If they don't come soon I may consider finding a cute way to wear leggings to work.  haha

@JewishBride: Praying all goes well at your appointment tomorrow....but I'm sure it will be :)  I was SO terrified before my first u/s, and then it exceeded our expectations and hopes! ...and I haven't really noticed being extra veiny, but I've always had big veins on my arms, phlebotemists love me!  I did notice that my fuzz of hair on my belly seems to be darker lately.  Oh, the funny things pregnancy does to us :)

@miss.skinner: Glad you got some new pieces - hopefully they work for you!  Leggings with dresses or tunic tops/sweaters have been awesome lately - I fully endorse that option :)

I just found 2 pair of good quality mat pands (gap and motherhood) at Goodwill tonight for $3.99 each! Score!  They're still big in the waist, but should be perfect in another month or two.  And I have my second u/s on Wednesday - 9 weeks, and my pg physical on Thursday.  I'm so excited to see the babes again, and praying they are both still happy and healthy :)

@JewishBride: I was so nervous too.  When she started to use the transvaginal wand, I kept thinking "What if nothing's there?  What if it's empty?" but then I saw it and was comforted a lot.  I'm sending good thoughts your way and I'm sure it'll go fantastically!

I'm going to head to a maternity consignment store in a few weeks (it's like 45 minutes away) but for the time being, I got some jeans from Motherhood because they're on sale for buy one get one half off.  They were part of my Christmas present from my husband plus I was able to get a little more and get the $50 restaurant gift card promotion they have going.  I'll have to see how good the restaurants are.  I got some leggings on sale at Old Navy a few weeks ago so I'm sure I'll wear those soon too.  I pretty much am always using my tummy sleeve right now so I might just try to transition over to the maternity pants to make it easier.

On another note, I'm incredibly nervous right now.  We filled out our Christmas cards last night with the announcement in them and put them in the mailbox.  It scares me so much knowing that there's nothing I can do about it now and that everyone in our families will know in a couple of days.

@JewishBride: Good luck at your appointment! Come back and let us know how it went!!! :)

My pants were definitely getting tight, so I went out and bought 2 pairs of jeans (one to wear with heels and one to wear with flats) in a size up. I figured I could use them post-baby when I want out of maternity pants but can't quite fit back into my regular size. They are fine around the waist when I'm standing, but I tend to unbutton them if I'm sitting at my desk for a while or driving. Sometimes if I'm going straight into the house from my car, I leave them unbutton. And then my husband says in horror "Your pants are unbuttoned!!!!" as if I've been walking around like that all day. LOL!

I have another appointment coming up on Friday. I will be 11 w 2 d and this is just an appointment with an ultrasound tech (not my midwife) because I've been very nervous after my last appointment. So hopefully all goes well, and then we'll announce the news on Christmas day to our families!

Has anyone else thought of how they are going to announce the news, if you haven't yet already?

@mandb122: Awww! I'm sure you'll get lots of love and support when people receive your cards. It will be fun when your phone starts ringing, as people get their mail!

@MerryC: Good luck at your appointment! I have a question for you-- does the dating work a little differently with IVF? I would have thought that your conception date would have been the day that you had the eggs transferred, which would make you about 2 weeks pregnant at that time, if the pregnancy takes. A friend just went through this, and they are telling her that she is 5 weeks, roughly 2 weeks after her egg transfer date. I thought she would be 4 weeks at this time, not five.

@miss.skinner: Oooh let me know if you like the Old Navy maternity pants. I think I will hit up some sales/stores after Xmas for some clothes!

@krsmall: Awww! The shirts you got for your dogs are TOO CUTE!!

@chrispygal: How far along are you? We are doing the same thing-- telling our immediate family on Xmas, and then probably waiting till mid-January to tell work/friends.

@HopingToBeaMama: Hope your appt on Friday is perfect and reassuring and just what you need.  With IVF, the conception date is still the conception date - when the sperm and egg meet, so it's comparable to an ovulation date in a natural cycle.  Conception happens on the day of the egg retrieval, where the eggs are harvested from the woman and then combined with the sperm from the man within a few hours. With a day 5 embryo transfer, the embryos actually end up in the uterus at about the same time they would in a natural cycle, and thus implant on the same timeline.  And the embryos have grown the same amount in the lab as they would in your body, so their gestational age is the same.  I was actually able to find out 5 days after my day 5 transfer that I was pg, which is the equivalent of 10 dpo.  And my dr confirmed with a bloodtest at 9 days after transfer, which is like 14 dpo or 4 weeks.  Sorry I'm so wordy, but hope that helps :)

@JewishBride: Glad it all went so well!  Did you get to bring home a picture of your babe?

@MerryC: Yes that makes perfect sense! Thanks! I think I was forgetting about the 5 days that take place with a 5-day transfer. I was thinking it was the exact same day that the eggs were removed and fertilized. But that seems more logical. THANKS for the explanation! :)

Sorry my last note was so quick! We got three pictures of our baby and we plan to blow one up and put it under the tree! It's crazy...there's actually something inside of me, ah! It's nice to know that I feel like crap for a reason...and the very best of reasons:DI knew right when I saw the baby it was perfect. I was sure I was going to have to ask the dr. a billion times if everything was ok. He adjusted my due date, so instead of it being the 21st of July it's the 20th.

This day really is perfect. My DH had a job interview and he's about 99% sure he got it!

Just a random question, is anyone due July 31st? If so, your little one will share a bday with Harry Potter!

@miss.skinner: Ughh...it was so horrible and in the beginning I didn't believe I would even make it this far! My husband has been saying things like, "My wife is pregnant!" all day! I love it. I feel like we can start planning on having a baby instead of waiting and seeing how things go.

@chrispygal: It was so amazing! I had a little tear run down my cheek I was so happy and relieved that we're blessed with a happy and healthy baby:)

Some times I wondered if this day would EVER arrive but we got to see our little Tex today! I wasn't too nervous becuase I am TOTALLY showing and I figured if something was wrong my belly wouldn't be this big - but there's always that little bit mommy worry (that never goes away BTW). I was a little nervous when the pic came up because it was really different than with my first. With my first he totally looked like a gummy bear and you could see the arms and legs swimming away... but this time it looked more like a jelly bean so you couldn't make out as much. After a second I could see the flutter of the heartbeat (178) and make out little legs! Big sigh! I took my little guy to the appt even though I knew he wouldn't get it. He did stare at the screen which was cute. She set my due date a July 22 which is 2-3 days ahead of where I thought I'd be. Which means I'm 9W3D :) I'll take any extra days I can get to be closer to done with the morning sickness! She also let us hear the heartbeat with the doppler which is such a sweet sound!

When I delivered my first there was only 1 doc and 1 midwife in the practice. This is the first time I've met the new doc and I love her!! I didn't talk with her much about her delivery style and experience but they'll be time for that. (I prefer natural w/ walking around and delivering NOT on my back)

I put the calendars (our annoucement) in the mail to my mom and brother yesterday so they should arrive tomorrow. We plan to hand deliver the ones to my husbands family on Friday when we celebrate Christmas with them. I mailed the others (my extended family and a couple close friends) out today (I wanted to make sure the appt went well). So all our family should know by Fri/Sat and I can't wait to see their reactions!!

I've already told a handful of people locally - maybe too many. I was starting to worry it'd show up on facebook before our doc appt! We'll probably be open with the news if it comes up in conversation after Christmas (I do want our families to know next!). My big worry now is that I'd like it to stay off facebook as long as possible (and we won't ever make an announcement cause it's not my style) but I feel like since I 'mailed' out the announcements and I'm not able to add 'keep it off the social networks' it may end up there. Hopefully our families and friends are smart enough to call and congratulate us or at least text. Oh well. We'll see :)

As far as symptoms the morning sickness really kicked into high gear at about 7.5 weeks. I finally gave in and called for anti-nasea drugs last week. It helps some but I still get sick at least one a day. I try to snack when I get up to pee at night but it's not enough to keep the sickies at bay. Oh well. I'm also EXTREMELY tired. Usually going to bed right after I put Roo down at 7. I can't wait til this 4 day weekend when I can relax!! Hopefully I find some energy to wrap presents before Sunday!

Oh yeah - the other big news! One of my besties (and little from my sorority) stopped by on her way through town two weeks ago and guess what... she's pregnant too!! Due probably about 2 weeks after me :) It's so fun to share this experience with someone close IRL as well as online friends. I had a close friend due a couple weeks after me with my first as well. So so cool! I'm VERY excited for them :)

@mandb122:  I know the feeling! I can't wait til tomorrow when hopefully my Mom will get her package :) I'm wondering how long it'll take them to figure it out from the calendar. The cover has my Roo wearing the shirt that says 'I have a secret' and the month of July has the back that says 'I'm going to be a big brother'. I get all teary eyed thinking about them finding out!

I haven't had much time to post but I have been trying to keep up and congrats to everyone on their first (and second) appointments! Those of you telling family over Christmas I can't wait to hear how it goes!!

Also if you are looking for an idea I saw these cute ornaments on ETSY that you could easily recreate that said "Great MOMS get promoted to GRANDMA" and "Great DADS get promoted to GRANDPA". You could also make "Great PARENTS get promoted to GRANDPARENTS" and date it so they'll have an ornament to mark the occasion :)
