Sorry I've not been around much lately. Have had terrible nausea, ligament pain, back ache, cramping and bleeding. My FI James has been home for the past few days taking good care of me and I'm doing a bit better now. Just have to monitor this hemorrhage and remain on strict pelvic/bed rest until my next check-up on Thursday. The silver lining is we'll get to see the baby again as I'll require another ultrasound to assess my hemorrhage and cervical length. If my cervix has shortened since my last visit I'll be booked into theatre for a stitch. But if the hemorrhage is active and has increased in size, that'll rule out the surgery. So everything's up in the air at the moment and we've really no idea what's going to happen. I've been listening to bub's heartbeat every night before bed and it's always up around 155-160 bpm so it seems all is well in there. I apologise for not responding to all of you individually as I normally would. Just don't have much energy at the moment and James isn't happy I'm out of bed so back I go. Hope you're all doing wonderfully. Will catch up with you again soon, when I'm feeling a little better. x

@wifegoodman: so this might be a really stupid question, but I was looking at the crib you said you're getting (you did say the Nurseryworks Uptown, right?) - gorgeous, btw! - but I was wondering if the mattress has adjustable levels?  I am wondering because the crib I am currently obsessed with is this one: http://www.franklinandben.com/products/mason-4-in-1-convertible-crib/ and DH pointed out to me that the mattress looked really low, and I have enough back issues as it is and so we got concerned that bending over to put the baby in and out of the crib might be more difficult.  I plan to go look in person once we get our whole move settled and whatnot, but it seemed from the pics that the Uptown crib had a similarly placed low mattress, so was just curious if you had any thoughts.... random question, I know =)

@katlovesjames:  sooo sorry you are still struggling with this, but glad to hear that your LO's heartbeat is going strong and he/she seems to be doing well in there!

I guess I am an odd ball. I dont plan on getting a crib. I figure (and with my sister's advice) that a  pack and play would work.  The pack and play has a bassinet that is adjustable levels, it also has a little attachment for newborn sleeping. Am I insane? Are there reasons to choose to have a crib?

this is the one I am looking at http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11959537

@mojoh:  I am sorry that you're feeling so shitty still! I have def cried a couple of times staring down food and knowing that eating it was going to be torture!

@katlovesjames:  Thanks for the new thread!

I am going on a daycare waitlist now for daycare in February of next year, I think! The only problem is that you have to put a month's deposit down to go on the waitlist, and a month is $1200! So that will be a bit of a squeeze right after the holidays. It's an expensive daycare but it's the nicest one in the city, it has webcams to watch the baby on all day long, and it happens to be right across from my work so I can still breastfeed easily! I have a really flexible workplace so I will def not go back full time right away.

Also, our nursery is totally going to be grey and yellow! Steel grey and a light yellow. This is my inspiration pic:

My NT scan went fine. Not what I expected, but fine.

First of all, baby was not cooperating with me. Before leaving I told baby that they better show me their goods, and this little one would NOT move. Haha. The specialist was pressing on my stomach to get the baby to turn over so that he could look at the neck, and 20 minutes later, baby finally did and the specialist turned off the machine because he ha already done the other things. My heart sank.

Baby! Why did you do this to me? Lol. And I only got two pictures.

But it was amazing to see the baby and know that everything is alright, and that I have such a low chance of having problems. Baby's heart was 161!

@katlovesjames:  thank you for doing that list dear! and thanks for stopping in. i hope all things go well. continue to update us when you can :)

@Mrs.JA:  hi! the crib you linked to is LOVELY. i love the tone of it. were trying to get a crib that we can put in the middle of the room so im avoiding the taller backs but i loooove that soft color. oh my. it is VERY low tho. im trying to make sure our crib has adjustable levels too :) as for the uptown crib, it has 3 adjustable mattress levels!

@MsKeee:  i have that nursery pinned as well. it is SO amazing. i spent forever trying to find more details and sources for the things she found, lol. i love how the crib and shelves fit so snug!

@Mrs-Sunflower:  it took forever to get the measurements of our baby too! he was moving SO much though. basically showed us everything and wouldnt rest long enough for the lady to snap a pic of the neck. she had me moving from left to right and was pushing around. so happy that you got to see little one moving around though!

@wifegoodman:  Love that crib! But I'm going to wait a bit to become obsessed with nurseries. Of course, I want to decorate the room, but I'm a bit overwhelmed. Once I pick a theme or colors I will go crazy! I would love to do an under the sea theme or winnie the pooh for a boy or alice in wonderland for a girl.

@Mrs-Sunflower:  i am such a planner and since im a SAHW i have a lot of time on my hands during the day. lol. there are so many options and i want to explore them ALL. ridiculously obsessed. i think overall im just going to go with a white airy calm room with whites tan beiges. that way i can incorporate any pop of color where i want, the white ceramic elephant end table i love, the white rocker, the super light tan striped walls, rope baskets & rope clock etc! i love the alice in wonderland themed idea! not common!

Was on facebook on my phone and a wicked cute photo of a couple in front of their tree with a baby announcement tag on hr waist was on my newsfeed! My friend who just had a baby commented on it and I clicked on the adorable photo to get a closer look... And it said she changed her cover photo- to my surprise I KNEW i had seen the cover photo with the sandals!! talk about two degrees of separation! Liz is my college friend/sorority sister from Georgia Tech :)

wroting from my phone takes Forever but I'll be back Tuesday (family Chrismas in New England)... Wife goodman there is a land of nod on north ave in Chicago if there isn't one by your home :) will be back soon!

@Mrs.JA:  Thanks hun. I'm taking it easy and hoping all goes smoothly up until our LO arrives. I love the crib you posted the link to. And with 4 adjustable mattress levels you'll have no problems with your back by the sounds of it.

@mojoh:  The Pack 'N Play looks like it would work while bub is still small. I don't think it's necessary to get a crib for a while, especially if you plan on having the baby sleep in your room next to your bed.

@MsKeee:  You're welcome. The other thread was getting a bit long and the mods don't like us going beyond 12 pages. Btw I love that nursery idea. Adorable!

@Mrs-Sunflower:  Sorry your NT scan wasn't everything you'd hoped it would be but glad to hear that everything looked good with bub.

@wifegoodman:  No problems and thankyou. I'm feeling good after a few hours sleep so thought I'd quickly jump on here to catch up before my FI gets home from getting the groceries. Sneaky lol. Aww that circus themed crib is the cutest!

@H2MrsDj:  Enjoy the last few days of your vacation.

Has anyone made up a list of baby names or decided on any in particular? FI and I are pretty confident we're having a boy and of course, we've only agreed and decided on a girl's name. So we've been going back and forth throwing boy names around. He likes traditional, I like unique. Anyone else in the same position or have you got your baby names sorted?

Hi ladies. Yup been MIA again, I've travelled home which means a long long trip of 28 hours plus 11 hrs of jetlag so only now feel like myself and have time!

I need to catch up on all the posts but hope everyone is doing fine!

Meanwhile im at 16w4d and We found out the sex of our baby and it's a boy.

To be honest, We had wanted a girl, my family too, indeed big pressure on me, so there's gender disappointment and mourning over not having a girl. Plus my tendency to depression it's delicate sad and weird days coming to terms with blue. We don't even have boy names picked out. I do think though that boys are slightly easier to raise and if things don't work well with my FI, it'll be easier to be a single mom with a boy than a Girl, donno. Anyway, little bun is doing great, perfect it seems and now measures some 20cm, fits in your palm.

Im not showing but instead look fat really. And nausea has continued. Less intense but still there.

Hope to hear from everyone else!

@mojoh: im thinking of getting a pack and Play. so no, you're not an odd ball! Or maybe we both are! I just think that practicalities and cost are important plus we're not living in a country in which we'll be in for much longer, so don't want to be investing. Ive heard the pack and pack can also be used as an enclosed area for daytime play. I'm going to start looking at modEls too.

@cjfs:  well, i felt a lititle bit disappointed as well when on my I first pregnancy we found out it was a girl - mainly because girls are the winning party in my family . Now, I have2 girls and honestly would love another one but  everyone  seems so set on a boy!! Well, doesn' t matter!! A sweet little boy like my husband will be awesome as well :).

I am 13 weeks plus 1 stay today and have a HUGE baby bump (guess because it's my third). Yesterday went to the hospital for my pre-natal diagnostics appointment and yes, agreed to have an amino...not pleased at all, specially when I was informed of how severe the bed rest must be on the following 48 h..although the risk is slight, I am worried something may go wrong souring the procedure..

Else,I am feeling ok, no nausea at all and feeling a kick once in a while.Haven't bought single thing for the baby yet..it doesn't seem right till we are sure all is well with the baby

@MsKeee:  I have seen that nursery!! That is my inspiration for a rug.  They have a similar pattern at target right now in blue and beige, I think.

@katlovesjames:  We have our names picked out!!  We dont have a middle name for a boy though.  My husband is one of 4 boys and they have 3 nephews so far as well.  ALL of them have strong normal man names so I wasn't allowed to get too unique with it.  Everytime I would say a name he would be like - now, can you really imagine a professional baseball player named ______ or Dr. ______.... Nope.  So we have a very beautiful and unique girl name and a very common but still strong boy name.  I will share when we know the sex on March 1st.  Feels so far away! :(

@cjfs:  Congratulations on the boy!! I know when you have something in your head as an expectation and it changes you are instantly disappointed but just think about it like this - you will have a mama's boy, you won't have to pay for a majority of a wedding, you will only rent tuxes rather than buy thousand dollar gowns for dances....... see? A boy will be great!! :)

@cjfs:  Pack and plays are great ideas, totally affordable and will definitely serve its purpose!! I got a crib simply for decorating purposes and it turns into a toddler bed and then a full sized bed with a different mattress so, it will get lots of use out of it.

I am 14 Weeks TODAY girls!  I have trouble sleeping - I am up and down going to the bathroom every night and then at some point I am normally up for a few hours too. This has been going on all week.  On top of that, I have a sinus infection and am alergic to amoxocillan so I am toughing it out.  Wish me luck, because it f'n sucks.

My husband did get the nursery all painted and the trim painted this week.  We have all of the pallet boards ready to put on to the nursery wall and our crib was delivered last night!!  I am excited to see it all come together!  I realize it is super early but my husband is a baseball coach so he will be too busy to live from late Feb to early June and I am not waiting to decorate a nursery until JUNE.

Stupid question and I GUARANTEE 90% of you are going to say, why do you care?

    BUT

for example, I am exactly 14 full weeks pregnant today.

Tomorrow I would be 14 weeks and 1 day...

When people ask how far along you are what do you say?

I would say I am in my 15th week... but then I get wondering if that is incorrect.

Will I be in my 14th or 15th week tomorrow?

For some reason I cant wrap my mind around it.

@mojoh:  i might do the pack and play at first but thats only if we move when our lease is up. (aug 31st) we may stay where we're at fpr another year though because we want to move 2 hrs away and SO would have to get a job first which would be in july at the latest. So that wont work well. but my mom and sister are fighting over who gets to buy the crib  my how feelings have changed since i told my mom.

@MrsB1015:  I get emailed that tell me "Your 14th week" even though I just turned 13 weeks Friday. So, I would answer them and say I'm in my 14th week lol. Doesn't matter if you are slightly wrong, they won't be over there doing the math, and if they are they have some problems.

I always liked getting those emailed throughout my pregnancy, because it always had one week higher than I was, but told me things that were going on if I was 13 weeks or so. I believe it was the American Pregnancy Association, so I think they are correct...?

I know I'm one of the first ladies due in July and I already shared some info with regards to the back-leg-groin my16th week brought me, so I thought i'd share the rest. This week I've had first trimester levels of extreme fatigue, nipples soreness and my almost clear skin has developed a few big red pimples. My boobs have also got ginormous (compared to their old size). They've steadily been growing since I first found out I was preg but I literally woke up on Wednesday with a much bigger rack, it is so weird and they are so sore and heavy and I don't know how to dress them. I went to a friends birthday dinner last night and I kept catching the boys looking at my boobs. I went to visit my folks and an aunt today and the first thing they mentioned was my boobs. I am scared of the amount of growing they'll do over the next few months.

my plan for the evening is to find out as much as I can about what's going on with my body at this point of my preg cos my hormones are obviously raging.

Have you guys had any big changes lately?

@ilovestripes:  The twins have grown over here also. I noticed my tummy is poking out a bit more. Also I have ligament pain in my lower abdomen so bad that I can barely walk today. I just want to cry and lay in bed. Stupid me, I did not get paperwork summited for internment fmla yet so I have to be at work. I am still sick and tired.

@katlovesjames:  FI and I have had names picked out since the start. We have traditional first names and then unique middle names. I picked the first name and he got to pick he middle name

Here's something random.... I got my lip waxed yesterday and it still hurts! I've been hairy lately and decided it was time for some grooming. OUCH! Normally it hurts and I only get it done twice a year. I'm guessing cuz the hormones I'm extra sensitive. I have a groupon for a Brazilian but I'm afraid to use it. I may punch the poor lady for doing her job!

In addition to my wax I also got a mani pedi and I think that insurance should cover the cost of massage chairs for pregnant women. It was heaven and my back did't hurt while I was in the chair and it was on..

@mojoh:  Am I crazy for not wanting an epidural? I actually wanted a natural birth at a center, but none take my insurance so that's out the window. I talked to my mother in law and she was saying how when she gave birth, it only felt like really bad cramps. But then I thought, "You had an epidural!" lol

Oh, we'll see what happens that day also. If I can't take it, then I will probably cave. I hope not though!
