Just thought I'd officially start a thread for our lovely date! Are you getting so excited?! I know I am! I have to admit—I'm already feeling really overwhelmed. I just have to remember to breathe. It's about it get really real for me because I'm trying on my first wedding dresses next week with my mom, sister (MOH), FMIL and Future Aunt-in-Law. I'm so excited and a tiny bit nervous. Eek!

So how are you all doing? Getting so excited?! This year is going to fly!

Haha, I was waiting for someone else to start a July 23rd thread!

I'm beginning to feel a bit anxious, I have to admit! I can't wait to finalize our venue contracts & get moving on some diy projects.

So excited!!! Yay for July 23 brides! I am feeling the pressure, too. I plan to get a lot of my diy projects started this summer. I can't believe there is only a year to go! Eeeee! It seems like such a short time in hind sight.

Oh YAY! I also have been waiting for this date to be posted! I am having a long engagement so I already have mostly all the big things done. I am working on DIY projects this summer (Invites, corsages/bouts, birdcage veil etc), but I have already secured all the vendors I am going to. I just need money to pay them lol!

I started with more than 500 days to go, and now we're at a year and change! EEK!

I am a July 23rd bride as well! So far I have most of the big things booked but still have a few important vendors to find and I am starting on my DIY projects. I haven't tried on a wedding dress yet because my mom lives out of state but I am hoping to fly her down to go shopping soon. We will be sending out our STDs in a couple of weeks and I think that will make it more real lol

    HAPPY ONE YEAR!!!! :)

I don't know about you, but I'm SO excited! It's definitely a reality check though—so much still to do! I just hope the weather next year is better than this year....everything here in Milwaukee is flooded and it's crazy hot and muggy. Oh well, guess I can't control that!

YAY ONE YEAR TO GO! I am SO excited, too! Eeeeee!!! Let the countdown begin :) The weather today here in Seattle is 76 and sunny, and tomorrow is 83 and sunny. Just perfect. Hope it stays the same for me!

@WhatAHoot: I've heard the east has been blasted with nasty hot and muggy weather. I hope it better next year, too, for your sake!

OH man I was teasing my SO about this last night "365, if you want out, I'd say something now!" haha (read: 'out' of planning a wedding, not marriage).

It Thunderstormed all last night, and is currently Sunny, 25C, 65% humidity, thunderstorms forecast for the entire weekend.

    So excited! One more year!

Adding myself to this list! How has September been for everyone else's planning?  Personally, I haven't done anything, but I'm not too concerned yet.  I'll start freaking out at the 6 month mark...

I've been somewhat lazy.  I've managed to get a dress and book the hall.  But other than that I only have ideas swirling around.  Anyone else having a hell of a time getting a guest list down.  That is going to drive me crazy.  I'm so not good with the little things.  So I am hoping that it will not drive me crazy in the end.  I'll have to hook on to this thread!!

Ugh, totally get you on the guest list.  I have a pretty big family and FH's list of family friends is huge also.  But, our venue only holds 225, so we're limited to that.  It is so hard to decide who's on the invite list and who gets sent to the "B List"!

I'm in the same boat with the guest list. I feel like I keep forgetting people! Not to mention the fact that I have no idea what to do about my coworkers. If I invite one, I have to invite them all pretty much. Yikes. I have to button it up pretty quickly though because we want to send out save the dates in November. Sadly, my FI is way more on top of these things than I am!

Yeah, we're hoping to send our Save the Dates (sorry, i just can't bring myself to call them STDs....) out by the end of October.  There will be a lot of people who won't get save the dates, though, just the absolute minimum who we are 100% sure about so that we still have lots more time to finalize the guest list.

Planning is coming along! We finally had our engagement photos taken yesterday after rescheduling several times for weather! Plus, we booked our DJ! Next up, finding a florist and makeup/hair person! Then we'll send save the dates in November after we get our ephotos back. Is anyone else feeling the time crunch? I am starting to feel it as we head into fall and the holidays!

I can't believe only 5 months! Here is my short list:

    Finish Maids/Groomsman gifts

Put down florist deposit, already picked the florist and what flowers we want to go with

    Ceremony details

    Ceremony music, book musicians

    Figure out reception music list

    Meet with caterer

Finish decor decisions, order anything we need

Figure out if we want a second favor

    Buy sparklers for exit

Figure out if we want bubbles for church exit

    Grooms/groomsman attire

    Finalize registries

    Start booking activities for honeymoon

Finish sewing of table overlays and napkins

Pick cake flavors and design, already booked the baker!

I think this time is going to fly by! Good luck ladies with everything!

Hello fellow date twins! What are your colors/themes and inspirations for your wedding?!

    Here's mine!

Venue - A very simple clubhouse setting on a quiet lake in NJ. 6pm outdoor ceremony by the lake and cocktail hour - I love the cabana striped awning, it was a huge inspiration for my ideas...

Here is the outside cocktail hour area, to the right is the private lake.

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

Theme - "Elegant summertime fun" I'm going to try and recreate all the fun of summer - round paper lanterns, candle lanterns, lots of votives, simple rose petals, sparklers, a few blue mason jars, striped paper straws, pink and yellow lemonade, signature drinks....possibly some lawn games (croquet, horsehoes, etc)....

Colors - very light robins egg blue, ivory and blush/light pink with a teensy bit of pale yellow/white grossgrain stripe ribbon...

Ceremony music - Vitamin String Quartet - they are fantastic! My bridal entrance song will be their version of Your Guardian Angel (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus). I had considered a string quartet but I fell in love VSQ and couldn't find a quartet that plays the same variety of contemporary music.

Save the dates: The background color was robins egg blue, purchased from minted.com - I really couldn't help it, they were just so darn charming and brought me back to being a kid catching fireflies in the backyard...

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Minted Wedding Invite.jpg

Bridesmaids dresses: Alfred Angelo style 7122 (about $125) in robins egg blue with ivory sash - the girls picked them out themselves, one is a size 0 and the other is an 8 and it looks fantastic on both of them!

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Larger Image.jpg

Reception centerpieces/card box and placecard table:

Ikea Borrby lanterns (about $8 for small / $15 for large)

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

Reception lighting inspiration: (to look like a summer evening) - blue and yellow, I need to find someone very good at this or else it can quickly look a little "Star Trek-y"

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

Invitations: Ahh my love for invitations. I never thought I'd ever care about a piece of paper but I spoiled myself early on by falling in love the "Tiffany Jewel" design by Cheree Berry. It's very expensive so I started seeking alternatives and found that she created a very similar design on minted.com called, "Charming Go Lightly" - for a girl like me that loves Breakfast at Tiffany's - how could I not be charmed??

    http://www.minted.com/customizer/sku/MIN-M38-INV

However, upon pricing them out, they still turned out to be more than what I wanted to spend so I asked a talented stationer on Etsy.com to create something very similar to them at a very reasonable price, fingers crossed it works out ok!!

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

I also loved these by Cheree Berry  called "Awning Stripe" (I believe the striped background is Kate Spade stock)

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

My flowers: PEONIES!! Getting them has been an exercise in patience and perseverance, it's REALLY late in the season for them. I nearly gave up until one night I found  pictures from last July at my wedding venue of a bride with peonies, the article had the florist info and I reached out to her - she guaranteed she could get them. Fingers crossed, if not, garden roses are my backup.

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

MOH flowers: pink  and pale yellow spray roses

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

    Special touches:

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

Pink and yellow scattered petals down the aisle

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

Some yummy martinis - DH-to be is creating his own "man-drink" as well

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

    Pink and yellow lemonade!

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july ImageJuly 23, 2011 : wedding july Go.jpg

(I bought 150 straws, 50 of each color: (far left three) fushia, pale pink and yellow for the cocktail hour hi-ball  glasses above).

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

Umbrellas! You can never be too prepared!

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

    Some summer-inspired intermezzo....

    July 23, 2011 : wedding july Image

Lastly - a sparkler send off at the end of the evening with custom-cabana striped designed matches  - I was careful in choosing a photographer that was skilled in night time shots.

I'd love to see everyone's inspirations!

I was talking to our venue coordinator over the weekend and guess what?

    THERE IS A GAZEBO.

    wtf.?

Last time we were there we didn't see a gazebo! I am super pumped, I almost want to trudge through the three feet of snow and investigate this gazebo hahah!

If there are anymore unexpected good surprises in store I am looking forward to them!
