I am!!!!!!!!!!! Providence, RI, July 25th!!! My friend Emily is a date twinny too!!!
Where are you in the planning process?
Ugh.. I'm at the stressed out point! I have my venue booked, photographer booked, dress is already in my possession... Limo is selected and will be booked in Jan.. Still need a DJ, but not too worried about it.. I think I know the invites I want to buy (I'm doing some DIY stuff to fancy it up), and I'm still back and forth w/ my centre pieces.. My mum is doing my flowers and cake so that's "done" too..
What about you? When are you sending out your invites and setting RSVP dates for?
i am setting the rsvp date for june 1st or 15th i think. we have a lot of out of town guests and the 15th is the hotel cutoff so i would rather do it by then.. what about you?!
i am sending out my invites first week of april. you?@?
I'm planning to send out invites in early April too- if I can get my ass in gear and order them already! I think I'm doing the rsvp deadline as first of July, just because it will read nicely on the rsvp card...
Yay date twins - I'm in Waterloo, Ontario, another Canadian!
I'm soo far behind in organizing compared with you folks - we're still confirming the date with the church before we book our venue. Still, venue research is taking place and will hopefully be done soooooon.
@ Jenny.j: Not sure if you're okay with a little travel, but The River Run Centre in Guelph is a beautiful venue. (you have to bring food, etc. in though) .. When I was searching in the fall it was wide-open date wise :) Good luck!
Ps. I went to unversity at Laurier- that's where I met my fiance :)
@ laurajane: We're actually thinking about the trek to Guelph. I'm at UW and FH is studying at Guelph, and there's a really nice place on Guelph's campus that we're in love with. Plus, since we're both grad students right now, the collegiate atmosphere would make for some pretty appropriate pics! But thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to check it out.
July 25, 2009 in Washington, DC. I'm Canadian too! I'm originally from Georgetown, ON but I've been living in the states for 10 years. I have most of the major vendors taken care of, except the limo and cake. I'm planning on making our own invitations, but I'm a little worried about how they'll turn out. I'm excited to head to Toronto for my bachelorette party in June. When and where is everyone else having their bachelorette parties?
I'm at UW too! I'm SoftEng... will be done in a year ![]()
I'm getting married in and will live in Montreal after that.
I'm Sunday, July 26 in DC.
I have venue, caterer & cake. That's about it. A few leads with other things. Our invites etc. are being done by my brother-in-law, which is super awesome, and is one big thing off our to-do list. I feel hugely behind, but we didn't get engaged until the end of January, so I'm making good progress!
July 25th- Hattiesburg, MS. I can't wait but from the sound of it I'm way behind on the planning!
Just found this thread!!!
Im July 25 too.. and living in Ancaster, ON but getting married outside of Kitchener,.... where we grew up
Jennij - where did you end up booking?
I'm getting married on July 25th too and i'm from Toronto!
I have everything booked except for the entertainment (not dj, but performers) since we had a 19 months engagement period, man that's long! I DIY'ed my invitations with the help of a great friend and i wanna start handing out my invites this weekend
I just want the invitations gone since i have other important parties to plan (mom's 60th bday and niece's 1st bday). My friend dated my RSVP deadline as May 25th though since she said people are always late when it comes to returning the RSVPs (she got married last year, she said "trust me")...Is my deadline way too early??????
Ooohh and i checked the farmer's almanac, it says that it should be sunny that weekend so i'm crossing my fingers.
OMG Thank god for the farmers almanac... I hope that its right!
Did you know its supposed to snow next week? Im thinking its that last one that always comes before its really spring!
It's suppose to rain this weekend and a touch of snow on monday, but i'm thinking that will be the last time we'll see mr. winter this season.
@AprilD
We're having the ceremony at St.Michaels's church in Waterloo (across from WLU) and then the reception is a bit of a hike... In Guelph at the Bullring campus pub on the University of Guelph campus. It's my church and FI's university, so even with the distance it made sense for us. The coffee pub is really lovely - an hundred-year-old round building that was originally used for judging livestock competitions, haha. It's just the sort of informal, party atmosphere we were looking for! (And super cost-effective, since it's not generally used for weddings, even better!)
Where are you getting married? Outside of Kitchener, you said?
