This has been a good week - booked 2 "pressing things" officiant & music. We have venue, photographer, caterer, my dress, oot bags silk screened, escort card frames purchased, website up, STD sent.
Need to do - tent and tables rental, cake, flowers, everyone else's outfits, rings, engagement pics when the weather's nicer, invites, menus.
Next up: printing coasters & cocktail napkins (DIY) and begin making invites.
I'm worried about the details - the ceremony, people having a good time, etc, etc, etc!

I feel so behind. Stressed and overwelmed is the name of the game right now.
Oops - forgot about the table signs and escort cards. I have them all figured out and just about designed, but don't know exactly how I'm going to make them become real. That is another to-do.
I think no matter how much we've done we're always going to feel behind, ladies! We can do this!
FH and I are aiming to send out invites (at least to our overseas lists) by the end of this week. ARGH! Nearly there....
and i forgot to add I'm majorly stressed about MONEY! (who isn't?) and decorating the tent and house with white lights and lanterns, tulle, etc.

Woo hoo! I talked to a cake baker this morning! This is what my life has been reduced to. If I make progress on wedding planning, it's a good day. If not, then it's a bad day. I'm driving my fiance nuts in the process. Ugh.
Keep up the good work ladies. We'll get this all done... somehow :-)
@skibobrown I feel you on "If I made progress on the wedding planning today, then it was a good day." I'm going to head to a Paper Source or Papyrus today to see if I want to get paper for envelope liners. I know I want to do liners for the invites, but I'm considering them for the STDs which are otherwise ready to go out. Not sure!

My checklist is a lot like many others. Most importantly we still need to book a photographer, but we've had a darn hard time finding a talented as well as reasonably prised option. I think we succeeded, though - we're currently mailing back and forth, and hopefully it will work out!

You know, listing out all of that actually makes me feel better. I have gotten a lot of things done. Sometimes its hard to remember that when the to do list just keeps growing and the family drama keeps ramping up.
Hey guys! Congrats to everyone. I am getting married July 17th 2010, and I already feel so much pressure! I'm glad to see that so many of you seem to be on the same path as I am. Here is what I still have to do.....we need to finish pre cana, I need to get bridesmaid gifts, parents need to choose their attire, invitations, cake, programs, groom and groomsmen attire, purchase favors and start purchasing items for hotel gift bags, also need to do our tasting at the reception site and speak to the organist at the church. Will it all get done???
I'm also super stressed about the weather, which I know that I have absolutely no control over. Alot of our plans are dependent on nice weather.......anyone feel the same?
I totally agree with the above statements that it's a good day if I can get at least one wedding task accomplished! Though I often cross off an item from my to-do-list to only turn around and add one or two more things that I remember need to get done. I was talking with a colleague at work today about wedding planning (He's not engaged yet, but may be getting close and was asking for a woman's advice!). He said that it sounds like planning a wedding is a part-time job. I had to agree with his observation! I'm glad that I have summers off because I'm imagining that the last month of planning before the wedding will feel like a full-time job!
6 months!!!
I have a lot done, I think. I've had everything booked for quite a while now. The other night I sat down and wrote out all of the things we have left - mostly little detail things and DIY projects. I divided it into various lists: Do NOW, March, May, and June.
My "now" list:
Purchase invite envelopes and start addressing
Book honeymoon details we haven't gotten to yet, like the rental car
Make sure bridesmaids are looking for their dresses
Finish gift registries
Work on ceremony music and write must play/do not play lists for reception
Schedule final florist meeting
I've gotten some major things done in the last month. I finished designing our invitations and will be ordering the pieces soon. I also wrote our ceremony. Six months is going to fly by!
@GinaD- I am totally stressed about the weather too. Like worry about it every day. We're totally banking on it being sunny and dry for this mostly-outdoor shindig.
Which leads me to the WHAT WAS I THINKING???? portion of wedding planning. I said before we were engaged that we'd make sure we chose a venue with a rain plan option... apparently Bridal Brain washed over me and said "naw, it'll be ok! there's no way it will rain!"
And now I sober up and seriously worry about it ever damn day!

How exciting! And the anxiety!!! :) It will all get done in the end... :).
I have little projects here and there, but the boulders I can't seem to get out of the way are: finding affordable BM dresses with the right color and one for the prego BM (eep!!), gathering all the addresses (I'm procrastinating big time), figuring out the table linens (cause it has to match!), meeting with the cake baker, trying to figure out the lighting, finding our rings... and who knows what else. :)
My stress at the moment: Thinking about the July weather!! (I was at the JCPenney's store and one of the workers there was telling me that she got married in July and it was so hot!!!!! And my FI was saying, "...but we have A/c..." and she said it was so hot anyway and her make-up was melting off. EEP!!!!!

FH and I went to speak to the family friend who'll be making our cake yesterday. It was really good! We're very excited.
And we finally sent out our invites last week and have started getting RSVPs already (a lot of our guests are OOTers so it made sense to just send them early).
What about you all? More progress done?
