Honestly, too long for me to want to look at or think about... and I am worried! Your wedding is the day before mine and I haven't gotten a single RSVP back. Just undeliverable invites for one reason or another...
Hm let's see:
--Bought the flower for my hair at Target yesterday
--Will buy gifts for BMs next week
--Talking with mom what favors she feels are "acceptable"
--Trying to get BMs and GMs to buy their dresses/suits... ugh
--Dress comes in VERY soon, so need to book fitting soon
--Made hair appointment day before wedding this morning
--Move in to our new apartment this weekend!!! Woo!
@kperry3 - girl, i hear you about trying to get everyone to buy their outfits. why is this turning out to be harder than i thought it would be!?
- book my hair/makeup artist by fri.
- wait to hear from other florists since my preferred florist asked if we can wait till after mothers day to continue consulting
- freak out that i still dont have a florist with just under two months to go!
- get my EMERGENCY baptism on friday at my home parish which is four hours away! long story short, the church that my parents baptized me at in my birth country isnt recognized by the catholic church and yes, i am just finding this out after ALL this time (almost 26 yrs) living as a "catholic" which was never "legit" because my baptism wasn't. we're having a destination wedding at the new diocese said unless i was baptized for real, our wedding would be a "mixed-religion" ceremony not legally recognized by the church. so my home priest thought it was ridiculous and is squeezing me in ASAP for an emergency baptism!!!
- ring shop
- mail out dresses i bought for my flower girl
My to do list for the week:
- find shoes (first fitting is next Thursday!)
- work on music selections
- look for some accessories
- first pre-martial counseling course
- select engagement pics photographer
My biggest to do this week is to finish and mail all of our invites! They should be all ready by tomorrow to mail out!!!! YAY!!!!!! Other than that, I need to get everything ready for our polaroid photobooth: buy chalkboard, guestbook photo album, fabric for backdrop and all the film!
Book honeymoon?
I am so unmotivated this week--it may be nothing (gasp!).
Hmmm...this week my to-do's are:
- Send out invites (once we receive them)
- Purchase my shoes, jewelry, and sash
- Purchase men's ties and girl's jewelry
- Find someone to play acoustic guitar during our ceremony (this has been the most difficult thing so far!!)
- Confirm honeymoon (in FI's grandmother's hands)
- Start DIYing ceremony and reception decor...yikes!
- Get marriage license
- Attend our first pre-marriage counseling course
So much to-do!! I've been pretty laid-back so far, but I am starting to feel like a crazy person with everything that needs to be done pronto.
This week I am:
- Finally getting my invites printed so I can begin assembling and get them in the mail
- Confirming a date to meet with the priest for our final counseling session
- Cutting fabric to begin sewing bunting
- Cutting fabric to cover jam jar favors
I am super excited to get my invites in the mail so I can start getting back RSVPs!
This week is sooo busy cause i'm starting a new job. but trying to do a few wedding things:
- confirm wedding guest list with MIL
- make shower guest list for MOH
- make appointment with priest
- rent apartment aka future love nest
- and second dress fitting is tonight!
... that actually feels like a lot...
and non wedding related... need to plan mothers day!
@mmauricio: Yea, it's becoming quite annoying. I gave an extra two months for two BMs who had babies in December. But it's time to go ahead and buy the dresses... they still have not. As for GMs, I'm sure they'll wait until the very last day (May 31st) to buy their suits. Only one has even responded so far.
@Ms Hedgehog: Date twin!! =) Oh my, you havent gotten rsvps back? I must be REALLY behind.. I havent even SENT the invitations yet!!! AAHHH!
I need to.. pick up wedding ring, finish fixing my messed up rsvps so I can send them out, order accessories, remind dad to get tux fitting, and figure out dates for a shower, fix some of the beading on my dress.
-Finally make a decision on shoes (thank you Endless.com for free overnight shipping!)
-Premarital Counseling session (3 of 6)
-Book Limo
-Finish at least 2 more hair accessories for the BMs
-Finish the DIY table numbers
and oh yeah...
-MAIL INVITATIONS!
I've been pretty productive the last few weeks, so not much on the list for this week thankfully! I have to finalize the alcohol order with our wholesaler and finish up my programs and table numbers. Nothing too bad. Getting the marriage license next week though, that ought to definitely put some pressure on me!
@ItsPronounced_ABear: I'm still looking for shoes! Which one did you get?
This is my May to-do list (and it seems to be creeping larger and larger by the day, yikes!):
- Book hotel suite for bridal party to get ready in on the big day
- Waiting for envelopes to return from calligrapher and the rest of the invitation suite to come back from the designer/printer, then need to assemble and MAIL out!
- Figure out my something old, new, blue, and borrowed
- Find and buy a veil and garter
- Figure out the pillow for the ring bearer
- Purchase sparklers
- Get Fi to the tux shop to find his outfit and choose styles for groomsman
- Send FI's band back for sizing
- Attend shower hosted by my mom and MOH
- Start on escort card project
- Create photobook guestbook
- Book tasting with caterer/figure out menu
- Tasting with brunch (day after wedding) venue/menu selection
Hm oh goodness listing some of these things might just stress me out even more! Here's my May to-do list:
- Buy garter and finishing making veil
- Start on escort cards
- First meeting with design team on the ceremony and reception decor
- Finalize cake and flowers
- Start looking for a rehearsal dress
- Talk with pastor about the ceremony
- Figure out the music selections for the ceremony and reception
- Send invitations out this weekend
- Order BM/GM gifts
- Order flower girl basket, book/pen set, wedding card box, and ring pillow
- Make a venue payment
- Hair/makeup trial this Saturday
@pinkshoes: I have the same day too! I haven't sent mine either, they are going out tomorrow! Craaazy!
. send invites today !!!
. Add another tier to my cake since the guest list is out of control
. Make payment on the FI's band
. Get shoes, and accessories
. Start templates for menu, programs, favors etc...
. lose 5 pounds by the end of the month :)
Schedule my hair trial.
Invites go out (we have a lot of OOT)
"Book" my alter servers
Bridal Party meeting invites
Start Thank You's with cash for alter servers, musicians and priests. (That way I can lock them in the fire safe and I won't spend it else where.)
Start designing Rehersal Dinner invites.
Shopping for ties. (the fellas can't make up their minds.)
I don't have much to do this week... I got a lot of everything out of the way already.
I do have to send my PA the guest list for the bridal shower.
Start on my Thank You parasols. They are going to be a P.I.T.A I know that already!!
Start on goccoing my napkins a la Mrs Cupcake
Finish up and print programs.
Wait on my graphic designer to finish up my bar menu, hor d'ouvre menu and dinner menu.
Uh, so many other things to do. It's such a pain being an OOT bride :(
@hibiscusgirl:Your photo guest book sounds like a really neat idea, would you mind sharing more details? I wanted to do a photobooth and have something like that but with budget constraints i don't think thats possible, but I would love to hear what you are doing!
Confirm Wedding guest List
Confirm Wedding Guest Addresses
Write out all the addresses
Put together all the invitations
Return phone calls to Tent rental, Photobooth and Hair place to work out some details.
YIKES! I hope writing this down means I will actually do it all . . .
We have a detailed appointment at the venue this week, to try and iron out some details. Invites are out!!! So I wanted to develop a database for those who respond and start a rough seating chart.
This week we also hope to:
Get shoes for the flower girl
Pick out some songs for the reception
Think about some songs for the church
Tags for the favors---we did donations, and are giving little mints or something like that
Get in shape for my fitting at the end of the month *probably my biggest stressor
Find hair accessories
Good Luck Everyone, I can't not believe how quick July is coming up. Don't get me wrong I am excited to get married, but the pressure is on!! AAAAHHHHH :)
This week we:
- Sent our Invitations
- Sent my mom the RSVP response chart (yes, I have a chart- excel is my friend)
- Fixed some issues with FH's lead in Lindy (out of practice)
- Will be working on our Playlists
@Knubbsy-Wubbsy: I feel you about the excel. I did my guest list in it and it has been nothing less than a dream. I did a mail merge to print my envelopes, created databases to track costs and have sheets for my RSVP's that calculate cost per head as I enter Yes's.
Reading that back, I realize I'm letting out my inner nerd. Sry.
@Ms.Shamrock: That's actually pretty smart to set it up to calculate per head. I didn't really start using the program until this summer when I had to justify an inventory of a large historic house and since then I've been using it for everything.
i feel like i haven't done anything wedding-related in awhile!
This week on my list:
Here's the plan for this week:
-mail invitations (tomorrow)!
-book hotel suite for getting ready
-set up final catering meeting
-first dress fitting!
-write thank you cards for yesterday's shower
I have my first dress fitting on Wednesday, and I'm looking into the whole favors situation.
@carriejuly: I think what we're going to end up doing is creating a photobook of our e-photos that will serve as our guestbook. We actually just met with our photographer about this yesterday because I wanted to pick her brain about which online photobook company has the best quality for what you pay for. We deduced that Blurb is probably one of the best choices out there but I think I'm going to use her professional photobook making company and have her design it because I just don't have the time now. Plus, I know she'll do an amazing job! It is going to cost an extra $30 or $40 for her to do it but it is worth it to me.
She also had a really cool idea from another bride who she said was a scrapbooker. So this bride had the fauxtobooth option at her wedding (which I'm having, too). When her guests took a photo in the fauxtobooth, her assistant photog had the guest write some words of wisdom on a 3 x 5 card or piece of paper in a circle or triangle shape. The bride created a scrapbook of all the guests cards and matched them with their photo from the fauxtobooth. What a cool idea though eh? I passed on it because I wasn't sure I had the time to put that together after the wedding. I know it will take some work. But I absolutely love that idea!
I am way, way at the end of July...
- Invites are almost ready.
- Need to purchase liquor.
- Need to get groom's outfit altered but that is no biggie.
- Purchase my wedding ring.
- Purchase some decor for the house.
The big ticket item for me is the liquor and wedding band.
Finish our table runners!
Finish bridesmaids candles (part of their gift).
Work on escort card display design
Send out last stray invites!

I feel like this week is a big one for checking off things from my list...
Tomorrow I am putting the deposit on the flowers.
We have our Pre-Cana (marriage prep course) Friday evening and Saturday.
I think I have made decisions about accessories.
FI is going to get my wedding band paid for and pick it up.
We are looking into getting on each other's insurance plans.
FI's house may be sold, we find out on Friday if the conditions were met.
RSVPs are trickling in!
We are pretty close to booking our hotel for the honeymoon.
I am feeling more stress right now than I have had so far. FI wants to help, but really doesn't know where to begin. How does your FI do with wedding planning help?
