I ordered my dress at the end of December, 3 days after I got engaged. I knew it was going to take a while to come in! It's not here yet, and should be at the salon in 2-3 weeks. But they have to shipped cross country to where I'm living now.. so who knows when it will be here.
I'll benefit from all the questions you asked! No fitting for me yet...

Ordered right after thanksgiving, and it arrived feb 28. Went to pick it up mar 28, and it was too short so they re-ordered with proper measurements. Scheduled to arrive May 23 now. ughhh
@kperry3: Oh man... this does not comfort me! Maybe they're taking their time because you had a while to go?
I'll just call the salon tomorrow for a status, and put my nerves at ease. It's an Allure dress, I've heard they take a little while to complete.
@JulesSchnooks: Well the date was always mid-May, so they didn't change it or anything. I always knew I would have little time for alterations. It still makes me uneasy though! I'm sure we'll both end up fine :)
Hi date twin! I ordered mine in September and it arrived right at Christmas. So, yours should be here any day, depending on the designer.
@sparkles_10: Thank you for the encouragement! Is there anything that you're particularly stressed about, with our date fast approaching? :)
@JulesSchnooks: Hmm... everything? :) But, seriously we have been pretty lucky with getting everything done because we've had a long engagement, but I do have the rehearsal dinner and limo/transportation looming over my head that I haven't done anything with. What about you?
@sparkles_10: Welllllll the dress(es) are my biggest concern I think. I hadn't chosen a BM dress for my ladies until tonight, but the site I'm using will ship within 7-10 days, so that's now one thing crossed off the list.
I'm a student and working with a wedding planner, so I've been relying on her to prompt me to think about things, but she's been rather inattentive lately. I know it's because of the June brides, but I start to panic a little since *I'M* not the one 100% in control of this stuff.
I still have to choose the favors, pick out my accessories, look through hair and make up photos (which makes me nervous because I'm a very simple girl usually), pick out wedding bands, and plan the rehersal bit as well. I want to have everyone over for a nice dinner at our new house, but it requires planning to cook for them. Ironing out details for the reception like music and first dance song also.
Eventually the florist will want to do some mock-ups for the arrangements, and I'm really looking forward to that bit. Everything else is work to me. :)
I ordered mine February 20th (I think!) and it came in last week!! It wasn't supposed to come in until the end of May/beginning of June though. Mine was Allure too!! :)
@MissNewYork: YAY! Thank you so much for your response. That makes me feel better about life. I think I ordered my gown maybe 2 days after you. Which allure beauty did you go for?
Also, did your salon give you any indication on how long the fittings and alterations would ultimately take?
Aaah, the bridal salon just called me and my wedding dress is in! It should be shipped to me next week :) :) :) Yay yay yay!
I ordered mine at the beginning of February and it came in April 20th. I had placed a rush shipping request with Casablanca to make sure I got it early enough.
I ordered mine in December and it should be here in the next 2 weeks. Mine was Essense of Australia. I can't wait to finally do some fittings.
I ordered mine July 2010 in it came in october 15th , But i picked it up a week later , So i have had mine a while done with alerations and all My Dress is DONE !
Dont worry yourself it will be here !!!!!
I'm in the same boat! I ordered an Allure in the first week of February and just talked to the salon and they said it is set to be shipped in the middle of JULY!!! Um, that's less than a month before our wedding! SCARY!!
These other stories about Allure dresses getting in early make me feel a leeeetle bit better, though. I guess we just have to cross our fingers and breathe!
I ordered mine sometime in November...and it was supposed to come Mid April but didn't come in until April 26th!! Mine was a Maggie dress.
ordered: October
arrived: March
1st fitting: April
2nd and final fitting July 1--just before the wedding!
@JulesSchnooks: I ordered the Allure 2416 It is soooo much more gorgeous in person than on that model. I don't know wtf she's doing in those pics!!! Anyway, the salon scheduled my first fitting for June 9th, one month before my wedding but so far the only thing I need is to have the dress shortened so that may have affected the time frame.
Which dress did you order? I hope it comes in soon!!
I was super early with mine (didn't plan it that way but just found it on our first trip to the bridal salon). It was a Maggie Sottero dress.
Ordered: June 2010
Arrived: November 2010
I ordered Aug. 2010 and the dress came in Feb 2011 - Casablanca
@MissNewYork: My allure dress looks absolutely ridiculous on the model too-- much better in person. I ordered an Allure Couture C160. One thing I get nervous about are the photos we'll be taking. I want my dress looking the way it does in person, not the way it does on the model! I hope my photographer can accomodate. :)
I ordered mine in December and it arrived late March. I tried it on two weeks ago but was told that they don't begin alterations until 5 - 6 weeks out from the wedding anyway.
Ordered mine in October and it came in April. (Romona Keveza.) But I put the order on hold for three weeks, so that probably added some time.
I ordered mine in mid November and it came in in mid March, so it took 4 months. The shop said that Christina Wu dresses usually arrive in 3 months but the designers close for a month in December for the holidays.
I ordered mine in early October and it came in at the end of March. They told me 4-6 months.
Ordered in late December and I picked it up last weekend :) When I ordered it I did have the option to "rush" order which they said would have gotten it here in March.
Oh, and I contacted my seamstress for alterations. My gown is going to take quite a bit of detail work and I don't have to take it in for the first fitting until June 6th. But, I guess that really depends on the workload of the seamstress you choose and how complex your gown is.
My fittings are in June and I'm not stressed out at all. I ordered my dress(second dress after the 1st one was ruined) in at the end of April and it came in 3 weeks later. I'll have about 3 more weeks to hit the gym!

I'm getting nervous! I ordered my dress in February, and my dress isn't in yet. When did you ladies order your dresses, and when did they come in?
I know it seems like I ordered mine a tad bit late, however our wedding date changed. Yikes! I'm probably stressing for no good reason, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't biting my nails, so to speak.
Also, what have your experiences been with alterations? How many alteration fittings is usual? HELP!
