I'm getting married in July in the Midwest...I originally wanted half up and leave the rest down with long extensions. My stylist said that if you add extensions curl will hold much better than with juts your own hair. So that could be something to think about. But right now for me we are planning on all up with the catch that if the weather won't be unbearable that we'll switch it to be the half updo!
Mine is in July too and we are having our wedding outside. I debated the same thing but I figured after a little bit of dancing, i will probably get really hot. In the end, I decided to go and get my hair up. I go in for a hair trial this Friday, I'll post pics then.
I feel the same way but I just decided to go with an updo. My stylist told me I could do either but that she would recommend a touch up at some point if I did my hair down. She seemed very confiendent that up would bear the heat and humidity better.
Please do post your trial pics!!! Thanks for your help ladies!! I go for my trial on the 25th and I will discuss with my stylist then! I'm so perplexed b/c I'm not a huge fan of my hair all up. I am having extenstions put in my hair so I'm hoping that will help to maintain the curls!!!
I'm getting married in June in South Carolina and despite how much I would love to have long beautiful soft curls, I know I HAVE to wear my hair up. I have a ton of it and in my everyday life have to plan according to the weather or else its just a hot mess. Despite what anyone may tell me I know my hair can't handle the heat. It's going to have to be in an updo with LOTS of spray! If you know your hair won't cooperate than I say do it up, but if you don't usually have a problem than you should be fine to go with what you want, especially if a professional is doing it!
I'm wearing my hair up for pretty much the same reasons - it'll be hot, my hair doesn't handle heat well, and I don't want to deal with touching it up. I prefer my hair down - I have a round face and wearing my hair up off my face emphasizes that, so I'm hoping dangly earrings and a veil will help hide some of the roundness!
Here are some pictures of my hair trial. I am going to have a ribbon headband in as well so imagine that part =).
I contemplated wearing my hair half up but the humidity scared me enough to do a full updo and I don't regret it for a second! My neck would have been sweating like crazy and my hair would have been a frizzy mess if I hadn't put it all up. Do what you think you will be the most comfortable in though!
If you feel comfortable, I would suggest wearing it up. But it all depends on how you would feel about it. July is a really hot month, especially for weddings, so it depends on where your comfort level is.
I am wearing my hair down for the ceremony
And then my stylist will pull it back for the reception
I am getting married July 24th in South Jersey too! I am having it all up because in case it's super hot it won't fall out. Also, I tend to think it looks more elegant for an evening wedding even though I usually always wear my hair down.
Wear it up... you don't want sticky hair distracting you from your bliss.
PS @katiebug-- I am adding those to my inpiration folder!

Hello All!
I am getting married July 9 in South NJ. We are having our ceremony outside on a lake...
I am having a difficult time deciding how to do my hair! I prefer my hair down (or half up/half down), but I'm concerned about the heat. I'm worried about my hair staying just the way I want it, and about being super hot. Reccomendations? Screw the heat concern and wear my hair down? Or wear it up to be safe?
