My gorgeous and lovely Samsung Galaxy S has started to fail on me. It constantly freezes, turns off, tells me the battery is dead and does not want to work. After reading online that this is a known problem with this phone I feel like it is time to move on. The IPhone 4 is currently being offered for 99 cents at AT&T in exchange for signing my life away in blood. Does anyone have an IPhone 4 and can offer any advice on its worthiness? My Galaxy is one year old acting like its ten. I would hate to get the IPhone 4 and run into the same issues.

I have an iPhone 4s (through Verizon) and I love it. I used to have an Android and it started freezing and crap just like yours. I went to look at a new phone and everything was just so big! The iPhone was the perfect size, had a great camera, and ran so smoothly. I bought it and haven’t looked back. It’s been over a year and not a single problem. But make sure you get a case because if you drop it just right the screen will shatter. (doesn’t have to be a super expensive case, but just something to protect the edges of the screen)

I’ll repost my response here!
I haven’t had a 4, but had a 3GS and now have a 5. My FI had a 4 for a long time. We’ve been very happy with our phones!! I had my 3GS for many years, and it worked perfectly through the end. Ditto for my FI’s 4. I might look into getting the 4S if possible, as you’ll get a lot of feature upgrades from the 4.

I have an iPhone 4 and it’s bombdiggity! Haven’t had any problems with it in the several years I’ve had it – until I dropped it and shattered the screen :/ Get it and a case would be my advice.

My fiance just traded in his iPhone 4 for the iPhone 5 after 2 years. There was nothing wrong with the 4, but the processor is definitely slower when compared to the 4S (which I have) and the 5. The 4 and 4S only work on 3G, while the 5 can work on LTE, so it’s definitely faster.
How long are you planning on having the iPhone for? Is it a 3 year contract? The iPhone 4 will be over 5 years old by the end of a 3 year contract, and likely pretty outdated by then. I’d personally opt for at least the 4S. There are plenty of features on the lastest ios update that work on the 4S and 5, but not the 4.
My iPhone 4S is a year old and still runs exactly the same as it did the day I got it. Fiance’s iPhone 4 ran like new at 2 years old. So the phone itself won’t age the way you say your Samsung did, but the technology will become outdated most likely.

@IzzyBear: @preppybear: @lolot: Thanks girls!! What is the difference between the 4 and 4s? The 4 is 99 cents and the 4s is $100. I have to buy two as one is for my 14 year old daughter. DH may not approve the flip as much if it costs $200.
I am not up to date on these things as I still lug around an Ipod Classic that is maybe ten years old. It has 82GB on it!! Can’t even buy that much memory anymore.

@baletrina: The difference between the 4 and 4s is that the 4s has Siri and the 4 does not.
I have a 3s because I dropped my HTC off my balcony and it was given to me for free. I will never go back to the Andriod operating system for a phone. I love everything about my iPhone.

Bah, the same thing happened with my Samsung phone. I was so happy when I finally got a new phone, haha.

I just dropped my Samsung Galaxy S for an iPhone 5. I’m soo happy with it. My SIL and BIL both have the iPhone 4. They’ve had theirs for over a year now and still love it! No problems at all.

My husband had the 4 and I had the 4S (through Verizon). LOVED them!! We didn’t have big problems with them. Due to moving and having horrible service (+ a huge bill) we had to switch to Tmobile. Since they didnt have the iPhone we had to switch to Android 🙁 We now have the Galaxsy S3. Its nice and comparible to the iPhone. But freezes up, we did NOT have any problems with that with the iPhone. Also the iPhone is a lot better quality.
Have fun.. They have so many good features. You wont ever want to go back to anything else. 🙂

I have a 4s and love it. My SO had a 4 for about 2 years and it worked perfectly, even survived a few drops (he didn’t like using a case). He eventually dropped it really bad and the whole screen shattered, and now he has a 4s since that’s what was available for him to replace it with. There really isn’t much difference between the two, a few minor details. I never even use Siri or many of the “new” features.

I have an iPhone 4, and am eagerly waiting for the plan to run out so that I can run like heck away from the iOS. My FI recently go the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and it is BEAUTIFUL. similar to the iphones… but so so much nicer.
I really want to leave the iOS for good… But I’m stuck in the contract for another 1.5 years :'(
I have no idea why people buy apple phones when there are so many better ones on the market. Oh, and nothing else will force you to use a nasty piece of junk like iTunes. That thing is spawn of the devil.
Also, and why the choice between the 4 and 4s? They are both out of date now that the 5 is on the market. Although to be fair, 4 was their best phone they put out – I don’t think it is going to get much better… 4s simply had a pre-installed app that the 4 cannot get, and 5 has a slightly taller screen. The increase in processing speed in all of them seems to be negligable – a few hundred milliseconds at best. And iPhones just barely got 4G/LTE on the 5… I think Samsung Galaxies have had it for a few generations now…
My theory is that Apple phones are only so popular because of their sexy-look and a sleek marketing campain. Not because they are really so very good….
(yeah… I dont really like iphones… maybe you could tell XD )

Ive had my 4s with Sprint for a little over a year and I love it. This is my first smartphone so I cant compare it to Android or other brands, but from what ive heard they arent very close competition with iPhone. I have a 2yr contract and will be getting the iPhone 5 next year. I wouldnt consider getting a different brand. One thing i do hate is iTunes. Its awful and i dont think i will ever learn to accept it. However, I like everything else so much that I try to get along with iTunes and not use it unless its required.

i may be the only person who dislikes the iphone. I have sprint, and had a top of the line andriod phone, that went through a lot of abuse such as falling in water multiple times. the phone lasted well over two years, and when the iphone 5 came out, i figured i’d upgrade. needless to say. i wish i still had my old phone, i am EXTREMELY disapointed with the iphone, and my old phone could do more and i feel had better features, than the iphone 5.

My hardware upgrade is comming up in a month or two. I am very tempted to go with the Iphone 5 I currently have a blackberry (yes, dont laugh), but I got used to the qwerty keyboard and being able to see my friends on bbm. I am not sure I can wait for the BB 10, so Iphone 5 would seem to be my best choice. Has anyone used their addon keyboard? Wondering if it will be any good.
