Hey, date twin! I also have venue, officiant, as well as DJ and photographer, looking at dresses now. We just got the save the dates in to send in late August. I am experiencing a lull right now.

@MrsN14:  I’m July 3, 2014 and am in the exact same place as you 🙂 I’m just searching for a good band and photographer. I was JUST thinking how I feel like I’m in an awkward phase for planning.

We’re doing a trip this weekend to Monterey, where the wedding is going to be, to meet with DJs and talk to our caterer and sign the contract. Plus, we’ll get to see typical June weather in the area so we know what to plan for next year.

Otherwise trying to decide when we want to do engagement photos, but my mom is being kinda negative and thinks it’s a waste of money =/

Pretty much stuck in the same spot as well. We have our venue (caterer included), officiant, DJ, photographer/videographer, and have both asked our whole bridal parties. We picked out our invitations and STDs but haven’t ordered any yet. I have dress appointments booked for the first weekend of August (I have to lose more weight before I go shopping! lol)

@Nferrari: My mom also thinks engagement photos are a waste of money, so we just agreed to pay for them ourselves.

Venue is booked – ceremony & reception, and catering is included.  Photographer is booked, just got our engagement shots done on the 19th 🙂  Totally worth doing, it’s a great way to make sure you and your photographer have personalities that mesh well.  Someone can be a wonderful photographer, but you might not be comfortable with them.  Better to find out after a few hundred dollars than after a few thousand and a wedding.

For my projects – the invitation suite design is completed, but not printing until we have our final tastings in Sept.  Haven’t designed the STD card yet, it’ll depend on the picture selected.  Just ordered my paper for my origami flowers, so that’ll be the next big project!

Still to do – dress shopping (next month), booking the celebrant and finding a DJ.

@luluvohn:  Honestly my mom has no say in it since she’s not paying for anything lol It’s a bit disapointing though, how disinterested she is the whole thing. My dad and aunt are way more excited about it than she is!

And good luck with dress shopping =)

Oh my gosh, you date twins have just induced panic. We’ve only got the venue booked and after pleading with his Mom to help me, we’ve finally picked colours. Ack! I have to get in gear!

@catwoman1701:  I have no job right now, so a lot of my free time is spent on wedding stuff. Don’t feel rushed =) have you looked at the ” to do list” on the knot or similar lists on Pinterest? I feel like those were helpful guidelines

Yep, also in a lull. I have my venue, photographer, bridal party. I got my dress like two weeks ago! Woo!

I’m stalling on calling the DJ because I don’t want to talk to him on the phone. Same with videographer. I could do some more on our website but bahhhh.

I’ve been drooling over wedding bands, and looking at some centerpiece ideas. That’s all.

We’ve been engaged for almost a year (got engaged 6/7/12, getting married 6/7/14), so I’m SUPER anxious to do stuff and have accomplished quite a bit already.

We have our reception venue booked (did that in August 2012 – we really wanted it :)) – it’s a mircrobrew/resturant so that’s our catering and rentals, too. We booked our ceremony venue in November 2012, and our photographer soon after. Early May 2013 we booked our DJ, and just today I dropped off the contract for our day-of-coordinator. I bought my dress a couple weeks ago, and the BM dresses are on the way (J.Crew – it’s a discontinued color so we’re ordering them from ebay). We’re having a friend officiate, so that’s done, too. I’m working on our invitations now (super early, yes, but it’s not like the date or time will change, so why not?).

The wedding world (especially in June) in St. Louis is super cut-throat – when we booked our ceremony venue, the two Saturdays after us were already booked, and two of the three DJs I emailed were already booked in late April, and ours was waiting on a contract from another couple – he told them he was meeting with us and whoever signed the contract first would be his 6/7/14 wedding – we signed one on the spot!

In a couple weeks (when my mom gets back in town from vacation) we’re meeting with florists, and in July we’re buying our wedding bands. October is engagement picture time (hopefully – FI might have to move out of state for July-October for work, so those pictures might get moved up to…next week. Which I’m freaking out over).

FI is super busy with work July-February and my busy season is January – Memorial Day, so I am just getting as much stuff as possible done so we aren’t swamped with work and wedding stuff. Plus, the earlier you book stuff the cheaper since you’re avoiding yearly price hikes!
