I am now a June 18, 2011 bride...atleast I hope this date stays.  I was originally set for May 21st but just found out my fiance's cousin has the same date.  I believe we picked our's first but they are expecting and I haven't made any concrete plans so I made the date change.  It works out better with regard to my son and school also.

I am excited and stresses at the same time.  I have done this before but had alot of help that I won't have this time around but I am sure all of our guests will have a great time and thats all that matters.

June 18th was my first choice but it simply wasn't going to happen, every venue we looked at was already booked so we decided on the 17th.

June 18th has a lot of positive connotations in my family, so congrats!

I'm a June 18th bride too!  It's so exciting to get closer and closer!  We've been engaged already for since October, so it seemed like we would never get this close, hehe. Yay everyone! Smile

We've already booked a site for our ceremony/venue.  We've decided on our cake (you can tell it's important for us, hehe, but it's mostly because my mom owns a bakery) as well.  This weekend we're meeting with photographers, and I will hopefully go dress shopping, which I'm totally excited about :-).  It's so strange to be at the almost 1 year mark... It feels like we've been planning this forever!

another june 18th bride :) hoping time flies!! I have some things started prep wise, but other than knowing we are having ceremony and reception out at FH's parents, everything else is still in the planning stages. I have found my dress, but am waiting til January to order. That way i have some time to tone up and hopefully lose a few pounds. I hope to be ordering FH's ring this week!! so i am slowly getting there i guess.

We booked our reception venue, we're penciled in at the church (won't take deposit until 1 year out, which is this weekend - AHHHH!!), I have my dress, moms have their dresses, we have selected our bridal party, photographer selected but not yet booked, some items purchased for centerpieces, narrowed down the BM dress pool, still changing my mind daily about colors...I feel pretty good about everything so far.

Is anyone concerned about guests having Father's Day commitments?  We checked with our fathers, and neither of them seem to mind sharing the weekend with us.  We're thinking of doing a reception tribute to dads and possibly doing brunch with dads the next day (if we don't leave for honeymoon).  I just keep thinking we'll have a ton of guests that are unable to attend due to weekend plans with Dad.  Thoughts?

Hey girls! I just moved my date from May 21st to June 18th. Our wedding ceremony will be outside, and I am afraid June will be soooo hotttt. We went to a wedding last weekend and it was miserable how hot it was! We had originally decided to get married at 5, but I am thinking more along the lines of 6:30 or 7:00...the only problem is that this would push our reception back to 8:00-12...which old people wouldn't last very long and 8 is late for some people to eat...any ideas?! What time do you think is a good time!?

Just booked our ceremony/reception venue for June 18th, 2011 last week!  That's about all we've done so far, but I'll be dress shopping with mom over the 4th!

sqwed...That was my same issue with moving our date to June...weird we both moved from May 21st to June 18th...Fortunately, ours will be inside.

Regarding the time schedule, I don't think pushing your time back only a hour and a half will make much of a difference.  The elder will leave earlier no matter what and if people know the ceremony doesn't start until 6:30ish, I am sure they will have something light to eat prior to the wedding.

I guess it just boils down to whether or not you want your guests to be hot or hungry :)  How long is the ceremony?  I was in a beach wedding on May 1st and it was actually hot that day, luckily the ceremony was not long at all but just make sure your guests are not waiting long for your arrival.

I hope this helps a little.  Good Luck

So I am curious to find out what everyone has accomplished with their wedding plans so far.  I have been engaged since November and JUST booked our Reception/Ceremony venue.  I found a photographer I like and we are meeting her next week and hopefully we will book her!  I also have a DJ in mind and will be meeting with them next week as well.  I know the dress I want and have an idea for a color scheme.  That is about it though...I feel like I am slacking and wondering how far I SHOULD be right now.

@wolvpack: Sounds like you've got a great start!

So far, we've book the date with our minister and selected a reception venue. We meet with the facilities director next week to discuss the contract and pay the down payment. We've also selected a color scheme and..... I THINK I've found my dress!!!

I tried it on 2 week ago but i'm kinda afraid to move forward with ordering it because its still so early that I'm afraid that I'll find a dress i like better. June 18th is still far enough away that I'm going to be exposed to ALOT of dresses between now and then. But so far, out of all the dresses I've seen, "my dress" is still my favorite. So hopefully i'll know for sure by the end of this month. *fingers crossed*

Not sure where we each "should be" but here's where i am.

Anybody else moving full speed ahead?!

Oh man, I just moved my date to June 18th, from May 28th! May 28th is Memorial Day/Indy 500 weekend here so town would be insane! Then as I was reading through the posts I saw why June 18th kept bothering me... Father's Day! We are having our reception at a restaurant, the planner is going to kill me lol.

We have decided on our reception site, no dancing, no cake, and no attendents. I'm calling about the ceremony site I want next week, hopefully it's still available. I wanted a Vera Wang dress, but am leaning more towards a Pronovias. The only flowers I need are my bouquet and for the flower girl.

My problem is photography; I haven't found anyone I love yet.

We're June 18th too!  We haven't done a whole lot, but here is what we have accomplished:

    • Venue, catering, cake - all in one w/ hotel
    • Picked and asked people to be in wedding party
    • My dress!!  Should be here in January!
    • STD's ordered (should be here Saturday)
    • Guest List and most of the addresses compiled
    • Decided on invitations, just have to buy them - DIY Michael's kit
    • Met w/ probable photographer last night
    • Meeting w/ potential DJ on Tuesday

So much still to do, but I know it will all get done.  I have a bazillion ideas, it's just getting them done!

    @FutureMrsMc:

We booked our venue for 6/18 this July and realized later it was the same weekend as Father's Day - oops!  Luckily, no one yet has mentioned that this is going to be an issue.  Since we are planning a destination wedding, people might be able to celebrate by making it a vacation.  Plus, we are a little worried about not having enough space if all of the guests that we invite attend, so it might actually work out in our favor in terms of seating issues.

    *Ordered Bridesmaid Dresses
*Figured out centerpieces, and have begun to create them
*Figured out favors, and have begun to create their packaging
    *Meeting/Deciding on Cake Baker
    *Meeting/Deciding on Photographer
    *Booked Videographer
*Father is a printer, so I haven't worried about the invitations yet

We are having our wedding June 18th but were actually married in the courts Dec 17th 2009. We had to push back the wedding due to an unexpected surgery but we still needed to be married so I could acompany him on his new orders (military).

The wedding is at sunset in Gresham, OR.

June 18th Bride here!!! We are having a destination wedding in COLORADO to keep the high temperatures away.

So far I have booked: VENUE, FOOD, HAIR & Makeup, Officiant, & Florist.

I am still searching for the RIGHT photographer, I have recently started my career in photography as wel and it seems alot harder to find what I want represented from our wedding day.

I still don't have MY DRESS, I have a High Fave if all else fails.

We are planning on booking a 4 wheeling trip to the Continental Divide on Thursday. On Friday we plan to book the MEN's Fly Fishing Trip and a Ladies shopping day in ASPEN.

I feel like I am missing something though??

    Yayyyy! Count me in!

We got engaged June 2010, and just about 7 months to go! We have been dating for over 2 and a half years.

We have booked our photographer, have a venue (for free), have booked the person who is doing our cake, have an officiant, someone to make the invitations, finalized guest list, and I have my dress! :)

    Sooo exciting!
