June 19th here too!
And this may sound dumb, but what do you mean by the still technically "waiting" part?
I'm June 19th :) It seems so far away! we're having a destinaiton wedding in mexico, already chose the resort, blocked out the rooms for our guests, bought our plane tickets... all the other details like flowers, choosing the menu, etc. don't actually happen until we arrive there. I already bought my dress, so there's not much to do in terms of planning right now. so I'm reading wedding blogs all day and living vicariously through the planning of others!
For me it seems like it's about four seconds until June 19th. I wish time would slooowww down so that I could get everything that I need to get done finished.
Maybe that's because I'm graduating May 2010, still need to do grad school apps, and have a big solo art show at the end of May. I had to choose June, though. :p And the date is one day before my parent's 40th anniversary.
I, like marylizbeth, am a June 18th bride (pretty close to the 19th, I'd say). :) I just realized this morning that it's 10 months away for me today -- kind of crazy! We've been engaged since last September, so it's been awhile.
We've got things pretty well set: church reserved (and premarital counseling started), reception started / deposits paid, photographer picked, dress purchased, rings purchased, invites purchased. We're working on the DJ and flowers next. FI keeps saying "Well, after this, there's not much else to do!" It still seems like there's so much to do, though!
cookie82 I agree! I feel like there is so much to do, but because its still 10 months away my hands are tied. I really wanted to go dress shopping with my BM but, i feel like it is a little to early. Here's what we've done
church booked ( and pre-cana too)
Reception site book and deposits in
dress bought
rings purchased
engagement photos taken
STD's designed but not printed
hotel block booked
registery complete for now
We are still in the process of booking a DJ and photographer, but those are our goals for the end of the summer.
marylizbeth -- I agree on the BM dresses. I really want to ge them nailed down, but I'm afraid it's too far in advance yet and sizes might change, they might change their mind about what they picked, etc.
I was originally leaning towards saying "just purchase whatever black cocktail-length dress you want!" but now I think I'm going to pick a few dresses or a designer's collection of dresses (like the Aria collection) and tell them, "ok, pick whichever one you like, but it needs to be in the black shantung fabric." That way there's some continuity (and they still technically get to choose what they want!) and it doesn't look like I pulled people out of the church pews to make up my wedding party! :)
Hey everyone , i'm actually already married , but the REAL wedding ( with church/reception and everything ) is June 5 2010..and Can't wait ..
i have the BM dresses
church
reception
DJ
and actually thats about it ..Were making out STD & Invites along with favors, We have looked at photo and video .. i feel like I should be doing more ??
brattkatt- you should definitely get all the photography ball, especially for a june wedding. we booked ours a year out, and almost didnt get in. some people were booking them (our labor of love) 2 years out!
but yeah, i'd recommend that. photographers get booked up so fast. :p
Just piping into to say have fun and congratulations, date twins! (I got married on June 19th of this year) :-)
I didn't get engaged until October and still had plenty of time to get everything together. (ok, maybe I was cutting it a little close)
Happy planning!
another June 19, 2010 bride! Yay! I can't believe we are down to 10 months (it was 17 when I got engaged!)
We have:
our venue (ceremony & reception held in same place)
Caterer
Officiant
Photographer
BM dresses
Have started designing my custom dress
STDs & Invites designed, but not printed
1 out of 2 hotel blocks booked
Wow, when I list it all out like that, I guess I'm doing okay!
Excited to see so many date twins!! Yay, only 300 days!
@fiftyfootbride: I meant that I was, at the time, not officially engaged. Meaning I was waiting on my ring but we set the date a while ago. But FI proposed like the day after I posted this!!
I'm also graduating May 2010 - man, its going to be hectic! But such an exciting time :)
I am in concurrence with everyone that BM dresses is my next big thing, but they seem to think there is no rush. I just really LOVE checking things off my list!
This is what I've done so far:
- Venue (my parents' home)
- Rental company (very important because we have to rent everything!)
- Photographer (got this way before our official engagement and I don't regret it - she is booked up for the whole summer now!)
- Caterer & Menu
- Picked out and ordered my dress
- Florist & had preliminary meeting discussing overall vision
- Grooms & groomsmen attire chosen (Calvin Klein grey tux from Men's Wearhouse)
- My aunt is making my cake
- Picked out invitations, though haven't figured out the details or ordered them
- Purchased the backdrop for our DIY photo booth
- Designed our favors/escort "cards" (they are going to be mini jars of homemade grape jelly)
- Reserved our after party location (a neat restaurant and bar)
- Asked our officiant
So we really have a lot done! Though I don't think every June 19 bride needs to have all of this done, but I'm planning the wedding from afar, so I did A LOT of planning in the short time I was home recently. (Haha, you won't believe this - I just typed reception instead of recently! Do you think I have weddings on the mind or what??)
The things I really want to get squared away next are:
- Ceremony music (we have asked our violinist but things are still up in the air)
- Decide if we are going to have an iPod after party or not (I'm leaning toward yes)
- Design our invitations and order them
- Buy our bands
- Block hotel rooms
- REGISTRY! This is a big one I want to get on soon
- And like I said, BM dresses
After those things are done, I think I will take a little planning break!
I got the Maribel by Christos. I'm head-over-heels in love with it!
Wow - love the dress 50footbride!
I'm also a June 19th girl :) We have got the big stuff settled: officiant, reception venue (a restaurant so no need for caterer or any type of rental), decided on bridesmaids + groomsmen attire, booked photographer, sent out save the dates, bought my dress, prepared all our mariage license paperwork, and are in the final stages of invitation design. Next up (once all of France is back from summer vacation in a week): florist, dj, bus rental!
Time is flying! I love that I no longer have to specify the year when people ask me when I'm getting married!
Thanks!
We need to find the officiant still! Oi! The one we were set on can't do it that day. :(
We just signed the dj contract yesterday along with the dress, which was a relief. :)
Got engaged 10/10/09 and I'm getting married 6/19/10 I feel so far behind!!! I've got my reception booked, my officiant (luckily friend of the family is a judge ;o)), booked photographer (also lucky my maid of honor/sister bf is a great photographer!), sort of picked out my BM dresses, still need to call and price men's tux's, and I still have to look for a dress for me, get flowers, decorations, caterer, etc.... AHHH!!! and there is only 233 days left!

June 12, 2010!
Got my Dress! Two, in fact, though I'll only wear one (one is on order; the sample, which I adore, is at home);
booked the DJ (very important to us);
booked the loft venue in Greenwich village overlooking NY Harbor with a grand penthouse terrace (also very important to us);
booked florist;
chose Vera Wang invites, but haven't ordered yet or finalized list (not even close);
NOT yet booked the caterer -- a little freaked about that;
haven't begun to choose bridesmaid dresses;
haven't booked photographer, though I work (as a writer) with the Secretary-General's photographers at the United Nations, so they'll always be fall-backs!
thinking a lot about decor lately, lighting...
I guess I have a lot to do, but I'm confident that the deadline -- so many weeks, months away -- will not get the better of me. Famous last words, eh?!
Fun post. thanks for asking. got me thinking...
We just had to move our date from 2/13/10 to 6/19/10 due to some unforseen issues but feel @ peace about the decision so I guess I now have 7 months to go instead of 2 months. LoL
@futuremrsw -- I'm sorry you had to move your wedding, but welcome to the June 19 group!

I know there are some of you on here! We have 10 months to go, whoo hoo! How is everyone doing so far? And is anyone here still technically "waiting" for their ring like me?
