What have you lovely ~*June Brides*~ accomplished so far? I want to compare notes because I am scatterbrained and don't know if I am behind...

So far we have booked: the dj, the caterer, the venue, the officiant, the dress (!!!), the hotels (&  we blocked rms, I caved), save-the-dates were sent out awhile ago, the wedding website is up and running, the date for the dress rehearsal is set.

I have not: gotten my shoes (ugh), chosen a hair stylist or make up person (I have a hair trial in two wks). I only have ~2 bridesmaids and I am letting them figure out what to wear for themselves...I haven't chosen the flower girl dresses- I was going to let the mom's tell me what they think the (3) girls will like... we haven't discussed the wording for the ceremony (should I be concerned???)     :o/

Is there something I am missing? I think it is all down to the details now--> such as the invites (my friend is making them), the favors, the personal touches etc.

Hi Sparkles... It seems like you're right on track :) I'm getting a bit anxious just cus the big day is creeping up on us so quickly! I remember thinking at the 6 month mark how much time I had left.

The clock is definitely ticking.... here's what we've done so far: booked venue, mc/dj, wedding singer, videographer, photographer, MY DRESS!, my qi pao (chinese traditional dress), shoes for qi pao, bm dresses, chair cover rentals, makeup artist, and florist.

We are working on... our DIY invitations (hopefully to be out by end of March), website, registry, our food and cake tasting, officiant

What we need to do: figure out outfits for our flower girls/ring bearer, rehearsal dinner, script for ceremony, block rooms, our vows, order tux rentals, shoes for THE dress, bridal jewelry, guestbook, find our wedding attendants/ushers, cake cutting stuff, champagne glasses, cardbox, programs, (I know I'm getting super detailed, but this is actually helping me brainstorm what we need to do!...)

That's all I can think of for now! There is alot more to do than I thought... better get a move on! June 2009 Brides : wedding advise 1 ettitquette help Icon Wink

We have booked all our vendors including the reception/ceremony location, photographer, dj, photobooth, flowers, hair & makeup, hotel blocks, transportation and invitations.  I got my dress and the bridesmaids and flower girl dresses just came in.  Our invitations will be going out the last weekend in April.  I am picking them up Tuesday and it is partial DIY, as I have to glue them all together and put them in the pocketfold :)

I will be making our placecards (pencil starfish with names on cardstock tied with ribbon to the arm), menu cards and table numbers.  Im also doing some of the centeripieces to go with what the florist is doing (getting cylinder vases and filling them with the polymer water beads and a floating candle).  I have to go buy the vases and the water beads but I already have the candles.  I also have to buy the paper for the menu cards and table numbers, along with the ribbon.

I still have to pick out my shoes and undergarments, FI has to decide what kind of tuxes everyone will be wearing though we already had an appointment to try stuff on and narrow it down.  I also have to pick out the shoes for the bridesmaids and order hair accessories and figure out what jewelry I will be wearing.  I have to order a guestbook, we already have the ring pillows, flower girl baskets and cake cutter/server.  I also have to order the programs (through etsy) by the end of April.  My FI's brother is our officiant so we have to sit down with him and figure out what we will be doing for the ceremony.  I also need to find or make a cardbox.  I think thats it though Im sure there is more stuff I will think of.  Stinks that alot of what I want to do now (make place cards, menu cards, etc), I cant because I need to know who/how many people will be coming!

Ooohh, this will force me to think about it all (something I've been avoiding for fear of a breakdown when I see all I have to do!), so let's see....

We have: the venues booked, some decor purchased/decided, the photographer, my dress, bridesmaid dresses, the food/cake finalized, the honeymoon booked, invitations ordered (as of last week!), hair stylist, musicians for the ceremony, and we looked at hotel options today.

Now on to groom & groomsmen attire, flower girl dresses, flowers & florist, choosing a hair style, finding a make-up artist, dress alterations, shoes, undergarments, ceremony (wording & order), decor finalizing, linen rentals, and choosing music for the ceremony.

Hmmm...that's all I can think of now, but I'm sure there's lots more I'm not thinking of!  Good luck to everyone!

Ok, I was definately freaking about all that we have to get done! I am also a June 09 bride and we so worried about all the things that we still need to do! We are pretty much in the same boat as the rest of you guys. Still lots to do, but it is mainly all the detail stuff.

So I've kept this notebook, which has gotten to be HUGE with EVERY detail of our wedding in it.  I keep it pretty organized, because I don't like feeling lost.

We have everything taken care of except:

My dress fittings, Our bands engraved, Marriage License, Finding tuxes for my one year old nephews, & Invitations- Hope to send them out the first week in April

Other than that it's the VERY little details such as meeting with our DJ, make table seatings, go to hair trial, and buy some bridal accessories that need to be done.  I always have to be one step ahead of my 3 different timelines I check daily ;)  I have OCD!!

    Finished-

    • Ceremony and reception sites
    • Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner
    • Officiant
    • Photographer
    • Baker
    • Candlestick Maker (*wink*)
    • DJ and music for reception
    • Bride undergarments
    • DIY Flower girls attire
    • DIY Flower girl flowers
    • Flower girl basket
    • Flower girl escort attire
    • DIY invitations (going out first week of April)
    • All showers on the calendar
    • Registry taken care of
    • DIY reception flower centerpieces
    • b.m gifts
    • Seamstress gift
    • Favours
    • Ceremony and Reception plans

    To be finished-

My dress, like the b.m dresses and f.g dresses are being made by my FI's older brother's wife. I have the pattern picked out, we just need to buy the fabric. I have the fabric, pattern and measurements for the b.m dresses, she just hasn't started them yet. They're all very simple, but beautiful patterns though, and she's amazing. Plus I only have three attendants. It won't take her any time at all. :-) He's wearing his Marine Blues, and he needs to get measured for them. I believe the groomsmen have their suits taken care of.

So basically we have all of the attire figured out, I just thought it wouldn't be fair to put it on the "finished" list. ;-)

Oh, and we also know where we're going for our honeymoon, and how we're getting there, just not where we'll be staying. :-) Still working on that. *coughs*

    • My shoes (which I've looked high and low for... think I found them, finally. :-p)
    • Groomsmen ties (and with this, the groomsmen gifts will be finished as well!)
    • Programs
    • DIY Guest cards
    • f.g shoes (white flats. We're decoupaging the b.m fabric to them.)
    • Room for wedding night
    • Flowers (have them picked out, just have to purchase... not necessary till May.)
    • Thank-You cards
I can't think of what else at the moment, honestly... *ahem* Anyhow, plenty still to do obviously. :-) But my goal is to get it all finished the month before so I don't have to worry or stress out about anything. :-)

    Hi!

I am new to this site and just wanted to introduce myself to my fellow month brides.

We got engaged this past February and are having a destination wedding, and this list can make anyone feel wonderfully calm, because we may not even be half way done with planning and have two months to go and three days to go. Wedding is June 23rd.

    We have:

location, officiant, caterer, photographer, dressmaker, dress for his mother, good friends and relatives that make up the bridal party and are taking care of their own attire. and we have each other.

    We still have to get:

the band, flights (!!!), and a place to stay (we have a back-up but want to switch.) we also still need to get the rings, his suit, my veil and shoes, a dress for my mom, and flowers. Plus all sorts of little things like finding a hairstylist and make up person. My dress is 'in production' - being made by the seamstress as we speak.

Our invitations should have been ready a few weeks ago, and I'd like to get them already!

Wanna-be wife; sounds like you are doing pretty well... My grandmothers and cousins have told me they haven't gotten their attire yet because they wanted to wait until the spring/summer fashion came out to look through. I also have to get a wedding band for my man (he hasn't found one he likes yet for me to get for him.) My MOH & I just finished the invitations this weekend! So those will be sent out soon =o). I am way excited about that...

& I am still working on the wedding details too (guest programs, table assignments etc).

    June is fast approaching! <*~sighs~*>

    • Find shoes for flower girls (all six of them!)
    • Mail ring pillow materials to FMIL for her to sew
    • Order the cake (Had the tasting today. Mmm!)
    • Design and print menus
    • Determine seating assignments
    • Make seating cards
    • Figure out what to do for guest book
    • Print family photos and names for tables

    Just a few questions/thoughts...

    • Is anyone here having an outdoor wedding? With the time frame left, I am stumped as what to do for the aisle- or lack there of. The chairs will be situated in a way that there is an aisle. But I am debating purchasing flower petals & tall glass vases. The tall glass vases, however, I would need to figure out how to arrange anything in them. Any thoughts? Forgo the tall vases and stick to petals?
    • For the marriage license. Someone please tell me what the general deal is with them? You can get them in any county- not just the county you are getting married in right? (We are getting married in the same state as the one we are living in, but are getting married in an entirely different area). Is it better to go to the courthouse to get the license in the same area you are getting married in?
    • I haven't figured out the favors. Or created the menu (waiting for the headcount to make sure we don't need to tweak the menu). It's the details I am lacking.

I am a graduate student and finals are the second week of June... our wedding is the last weekend of June. -I am starting to think for my sanity's sake I will just figure out the details now... and then implement them as soon as finals are over. Do you think that is too last minute? Can it be done? (or do you think I am crazy? - I have a very helpful maid of honor & friends who can help me out...)

    Thoughts anyone? Do share...

I am having an outdoor wedding.  It will be on a deck overlooking the Harbor.  I am not doing much in the way of decor for the ceremony - I will have the chairs set up normal theatre style with a center aisle and putting pomdores (sp?) on the end chair of every other aisle.  Im not doing a runner but having petals down both sides of the aisle.

For the marriage license, unless you want a PRIVATE license, then you can go to any county courthouse to apply for it.  If you want a private license, you have to go the county in which you are getting married.  Other than that there is no difference.  I am getting married in LA county but will probably be going to Santa Ana (OC county) to get the license because its closer.

As long as you arent leaving EVERYTHING until last minute you will be fine!  Just get an idea of what you want, order stuff or create templates, then do it after finals.  Im sure your BM and MOH will be happy to help out!
