I need to get my butt in gear!

    • pick groomsmen's shirts (looking for green short-sleeve button-down shirts)
    • find shoes for me
    • buy khaki linen pants for FI
    • pick our ceremony readings
    • book hotel for our destination wedding
    • book return flight from our destination wedding (right now we have a 1-way flight!)
    • book our honeymoon
    • whatever else I'm forgetting!

    For our July reception

    • pick table linen colors
    • finalize menu
    • meet with DJ for music selections
    • pick special dance songs

Um, lots?!!!  We've got a short engagement so I'm cranking on high gear.  I need to do the following:

    • Hit the mall this weekend with FI - need to confirm his ring size so we can order his wedding band, try some french cuff dress shirts and suits and shoes on so that's taken care of.
    • Order the guy's ties and socks
    • Order our guestbook
    • Get some Elves to magically finish my tissue paper projects
    • Meet with the Florist early next week
    • Stalk our Post Office Box for RSVPs
    • Start assembling our placecards
    • Assemble our table numbers
    • Finalize our dessert/candy buffet and order what's needed
    • Write our ceremony
    • Finalize our music choices for special songs
    • Get a must have shot list put together for the photog
    • Get a hair & makeup trial done
    • Try not to spazz out that my dress is being altered 1/2 at David's and 1/2 by my mother
    • Figure out what's going on with a rehearsal dinner
    • Decide if I'm making my own cake or book a baker if not
    • Attend my shower & take care of thank yous
    • Finish making my Thank You cards for the wedding
    • Decide how crazy I'll be if I attempt to make some yarn pom garlands
    • Find jewelry, hair flower & undies for me to wear
    • Order paper lanterns
    • Finalize the menu with my mom and my work/venue
    • Win the lottery to pay for all this nonsense :)
    • Finalize our minimoon plans and book whatever hotels are needed
    • Create my signage for the day for the little stuff
    • Get our programs typed out and prettied up
    • Find some flip flops for me just in case
    • Breathe, breathe, breathe and be glad a short engagement means craziness only occurs for a short amount of time!

Holy crapola, Batman.  I need to get MOVING on this stuff :)

Guestbook! I forgot about that! I need to do that too.

And my mom needs to come visit and we need to try baking some cakes. She is baking my cake, but she hasn't done a trial-run yet! I don't want "the cake" to be the first time she tries a new recipe!

"Win the lottery to pay for all this nonsense :)"

    Me too!

Haha...would you believe that I still don't have an officiant...? We have the venue, room blocks, transportation, cupcakes, clothing, and just about everything else squared away.

I didn't make nearly as much progress as I'd hoped I would this weekend.  We made it to the mall, but one of the stores I planned on visiting was being renovated (ugh) and FI was really kinda cranky and tired so he didn't try on any clothes (double ugh).

I did get my 2 tissue paper wreaths done and cut all the paper for the remainder of the pomanders :)

    Two months to go!

    So much left to do!

    • Send the invitations this weekend (yes I know that's probably a bit behind, but most people already know when it is) We are also doing email/phone response which should make it a bit faster.
    • Meet with photgrapher
    • Meet with DJ
    • Meet with reception coordinator
    • Have 2nd & third (final) fitting
    • Purchase gifts for wedding party
    • Make programs
    • Put together favors
    • Choose readings
    • Choose song to be sung during ceremony
    • Decide on first dance/dance lessons - help here please! I really love "Everthing" by Michael Buble - but I'm worried it's too common/not a waltz which is what we wanted to do.
    • Finalize rehearsal dinner
    • Engrave rings
    • Go shopping for honeymoon clothing
    • Confirm honeymoon flights/details
    • Send announcements to newspaper
    • Ask readers/cake servers to well, do that stuff!
    • Apply for marriage license (this will be a super-pain because we live 2 hours away, FI just started job and really can't take time off - especially with like 7 days he's taking for wedding/honeymoon and the courthouse is open from 8-4 M-F grrrrr
    • Take vases, ribbon, and other materials to florist
    • Hair/makeup trial
    • Put together picture slideshow for reception
    • Probably lots more!

Oddly, writing this all out makes me feel better instead of overwhelmed!

I'm off for 3 days starting tomorrow so hopefully I get a lot of this stuff knocked off the list!

    1. Find an officiant! **my mom is freaking about this a little...

    2. Wedding dress fitting/alterations (first fitting is tomorrow and I have lost like 30 lbs since I ordered by dress so it should need lots of alterations, hopefully it'll all pull together)

    3. Finalize table linen order

    4. Marriage license

    5. Rent porta potties (outdoor ceremony in my parent's backyard... so I am like the only person who gets to go inside to use the restroom lol)

    6. Figure out when I'm having my bachelorette party (my MOH is my sister in law and she's sort of a space cadet... ugh...)

    7. Finalize guestlist (already have RSVPs for 100 guests but still have potentially 140 more that could come and I am only planning on 200 total...)

    8. Pray for good weather. Damn almanac said it could be misty. I have a tent for the reception but nothing for the ceremony. Ugh.

    9. Guestbook, card box, cake cutting set, toast glasses

    10. Finalize cake flavors and decoration

    11. DJ playlist (meeting with him Wednesday to get all the details worked out. Have maybe 50 songs figured out so far... but all the "important" ones are set...)

    12. Groom and groomsmen wear needs to be picked out and ordered

    13. Figure out if I want programs and/or favors (still on the fence here...)

    14. Purchase wine for reception and figure out who I'm having bring the kegs :)

    15. Purchase food and eat-ware for the caterers (aka my mom's best friends)

    16. Purchase my veil, shoes, hair accessories, jewelery, undergarments

    17. Pick up the last piece for my centerpieces (going to IKEA, love that store. The nearest one is 3 hours from here, booo!)

    18. Have makeup/hair trial

    19. Work out details with my DOC

    20. Finish my must-have shots for the photographer

And I'm sure the list is so much longer but that's all I can think of right now. My head is spinning... only 54 days to go!

Well, I have a few days left of finals (my last one is Saturday), so after that I can finally concentrate completely on the wedding!  We just bought our wedding bands this past weekend (kind of a spur of the moment thing lol we were planning on waiting until sometime in May), so that's one thing down.  We still have a bit to do, though.

    General:

    • Get marriage license (we're going next week)
    • Determine wedding day itinerary & send it to the photographer & limo company
    • Hair trial (scheduled for May 9)
    • Another dress fitting or two (one scheduled for May 10)
    • Find a site for pictures (original choice isn't working out so need to find someplace new)
    • Need to find earrings and possibly something for in my hair for after I take my veil off
    • make hotel reservation for wedding night
    • figure out transportation from reception to hotel
    • buy a basket for flowergirl
    • bridal party gifts
    • meet with florist again
    • meet with bakery about cake again (need a lot more than originally thought)
    • figure out what the bridal party is going to do for lunch (our ceremony is at 11am, reception at 6pm, the guests are invited to a luncheon at FIL's, but we're not going to be eating there since I don't want to eat before pictures)
    • purchase drinks for in limo
    • make nail appointment
    • buy garters
    • need a rehearsal outfit

    Ceremony:

    • programs
    • e-mail music selections to church music director
    • basket for bubbles
    • insert for programs inviting guests to luncheon at FIL's house after ceremony
    • need to buy hangers for pew bows

    Reception:

    • buy and put together favors (Godiva Gems in bags)
    • seating chart
    • finalize menu
    • name cards
    • decorate vases for centerpieces
    • decorate candle holders for centerpieces
    • buy candles for centerpieces
    • put cake boxes together
    • mail paperwork/song selections back to DJ
    • need to buy baskets for matchbooks
    • baskets for bathrooms

Wow, that looks like a lot more to do now that it's all typed out.  Can't wait until I can start working on it... May 8.

    • Programs
    • Order table runners
    • Book hotel room for wedding night
    • Order the lavendar buds (instead of rice to throw)
    • Finish up the transaction for our cake topper, ugh this etsy seller is taking forever!
    • Menus/Drink menus - renaming a drink after each member of our wedding party
    • Get cigar boxes and postcards - placing one cigar box on each table and having guests sign postcards rather than guest book
    • Marriage license
    • Assemble centerpieces
    • One more dress fitting so she can do my bustle and then the final
    • Buy honeymoon lingerie and panties for wedding day
    • Confirm processional song, figure out brother/sister (instead of father/daughter) dance song, come up with dollar dance song
    • Decide on readings for the stepfathers
    • Make flower girl pomanders
    • Seating chart
    • Bathroom baskets
    • Out of town bags
    • Directions for out of town guests
