    Hey ladies,

Any other June brides hoping to lose weight between now and their wedding days (320 days for me!)? I would like to lose 19 kilograms (42 pounds) between now and then. Since the end of November last year I have lost 16 kilograms (35 pounds) so it should be doable, right?

I've been doing the WeightWatchers programme but I know I really need to kick up the exercise in order to see the results I want. My hope is that I lose another 8 kilograms (18 pounds) by the start of November so that I can start shopping for wedding dresses - I don't want to end up paying too much in alterations!

I would love to hear from other June 2012 brides trying to lose weight! We can all encourage each other to meet our deadlines Laughing

Trying to lose weight here too (more in my face and arms than anywhere else though) I'm scared if I drop too much weight my dress is going to cost a lot more to alter... So 15lbs and a lot of tone is what I'm thinking... =D

Im an April bride and I have lost ten lbs already and i want to lose 15 to 20 more. More important, I'm trying to tone up and strengthen my core as I want to try for a baby pretty much pronto around the wedding and I want to start off in shape for that!

sorry for jacking your thread june brides, and good luck with the weight loss :)

Awesome ladies! I definitely agree with some of you on the toning! I'd settle for less weight loss if I could be (in the words of Jack in Knocked Up) "tighter"! Let's make sure that we update our thread with our progress and encourage each other!

@Scribbles:  I've been too embarrassed to admit this, but I bought a dress for super cheap from Ideeli and it was far too small, but I didn't return it!  I'm not really hung up on there being "the one dress," so if it doesn't fit in time I'm okay with reselling it and finding something else.

I'm not sure how many pounds I want to lose, but I definitely want to be 2-3 dress sizes smaller.  I've lost a great deal of weight before, so I know I can do it - all this weight creeped up on me from an intense period of work, and then the stress of our condo sustaining property damage and not knowing for about a month or so what would happen.

    My plan:

    - Take advantage of living in hotel (until condo ready to move back in) and wake up at 5am (ugh) to use gym every morning

    - Get scale (after moving back in)

    - More water

    - Keep a calorie diary (goal target each day: 1500 calories)

I've started back to the gym again and am working on getting more fit.  I haven't set a weight loss goal, but I'm certainly looking to slim down. I find I put on weight in muscle when I start lifting, but I certainly start to look better.  I've been averaging about 1/2 kg (1 lb) a week in weight loss but my arms/chest/shoulders are getting way better.

So jealous you're in Auckland.  Would love to get a shopping trip in at Modes (coworker put me on to them - his gf's mom owns it).  I always run out of time when we're visiting my FI's family.  Looking forward to NY/Boston when we're home at Christmas but need to narrow it down before then since it will be 6 months to go!!

Good luck ladies!  You're being really smart getting a long start on it... gradual loss should help you keep it off after too! Laughing

I am hoping to lose some weight! I would love to be down 50 lbs. With 341 days to go, it might or might not be feasible. I am heading back to Weight Watchers. I did it from January-April once, and I took off 30 lbs. I just have to stick to the plan! We can do this :-)

I am, I haven't done much except for portion control and giving up sweets but I've lost about 10 pounds and am starting to fit into some of my old clothes!  I'm thinking 20-30 more and I'll be happy.  Although even with just 15 more I'll been happy.  30 might be a bit much but I'll reaccess when I get to that point.

If it doesn't happen by the wedding I don't care, I want to do this for me.  I've been steadily and slowly gaining weight over the last 4 years.

i'm a june 2012 bride, and i'm looking to firm up for sure. i've lost about 5 Lbs in the past few weeks, i think it's just from stress though! i haven't yet gone dress shopping. but the one i want has a very very open back...when i get i'll post some pics... anyway it's very open and i need to firm up or the back fat's gonna show!! so i'm thinking some yoga and pilates.. should do the trick. i haven't signed up for classes yet...too lazy but if we get a group going i might feel more motivated!

@accorn: I think you've got a really important point there! I'm not losing weight just for our wedding, I have PCOS and I'm wanting to get my weight down to improve fertility for having babies in the future!

@stefka26: Are you another kiwi bee? Neat! My mum already bought her MOB outfit at the Modes Clearance Sale but I couldn't see anything I loved (and paying full price there is a little out of my budget range!).

June 2012 here! I started Weight Watchers in March and lost 25 pounds in 9 weeks. Then I kinda just got lazy and have been maintaining since May. I haven't lost any good amount, but I haven't gained either.

I set a new goal for myself to lose another 25 in 10 weeks before I order my dress. I know what dress I want, but I don't want to order it until I lose a total of 50 pounds.

Then after that, I want to lose another 30-45.

@Miss Tattoo: You are doing an amazing job! I really like the Weight Watchers plan, especially now since most fruits are free :-). I started tracking again today, and I hit up a Zumba class at my gym. It was an hour long, and I was sweating my butt off!

I'm going to try on dresses on Wednesday. I'm hoping to get an idea of what I want, then go back in September when I've lost some more weight and order the dress. I'm hoping this helps to give me some extra motivation! Ideally, I would love to lose about 60 lbs before the wedding, but I'd be happy with anything above 30.

WOW!  Reading the posts here I am so impressed!  I am trying to lose weight too, hopefully 20lbs, but haven't made any progress yet.  I did weight watchers a few years ago and lost 13 lbs, but gained it all back after I broke my ankle.  I'm planning to try it again and step up the exercise.

I'm in for some June 2012 group motivation!!

How are we getting on, my lovely June 2012 ladies? I've lost 1.3 kg (2.8 pounds) so far and feeling pretty good about it! I'm getting back into the territory where I can actually feel positive about my body and that's a nice place to be.

I've been mainly walking (still rehabbing a knee injury) and drinking green smoothies and it's been making so much difference to my energy levels. Let's hope I can keep it up when school goes back!

Yes definately trying!  If I lost about 20 lbs I would be where I want to be!  I have good muscle definition, but just need to lose the layer over them!  I used to be in GREAT shape, and would like to get back to that point, but it seems this last bit is the hardest!

I'm looking to lose like 10 lbs, but mostly want to tone up.... I'm average weight, but I feel so squishy so the loss of pounds is not as important to me. I made a giant leap yesterday and joined a gym so I'm hoping I'll be able to stick to it!

Anyone have any workout plans? I'm mostly a cardio chick, but I'm looking to add a little bit of lifting into my routine in order to tone up, so any advice is appreciated!

I am a June bride! Last year I lost 30 pounds, and I am hoping to lose anywhere from 10-20 before the wedding. I would be perfectly happy with just 10 and a lot of toning up. I actually want to lose at least 5 by October - I am in a LDR and my SO will be here then for engagement photos, so I want to look good for those!

As for what I am doing, I use myfitnesspal.com since it's free and I track my calories and exercise. I just need to cut down my sweets, do more cardio, and drink more water.

Now that I will actually be at home for awhile, I started kicking it into gear. Something that helps me is attending exercise classes, rather than just going to the gym. With a class, it's at a scheduled time, so I know I have to be there. I did a Zumba class tonight and really enjoyed it! Tomorrow, I think I am going to head to the gym and use the equipment (even though I just mentioned this is hard for me, I still have to try). My goal is to exercise two days and then give myself a day off, and to continue this pattern.

      We can do this, ladies!!

I'm hoping to lose 10~30 before the big day. I've already got my dress and it's a little big in the waist/bust even after GAINING weight since I bought it (had to fit the hips), so alterations are a must no matter what. Once school starts for me again, I plan on utilizing our student rec center 4-5 times a week and eating better with a more regular schedule. I was 30 lbs lighter when I met my FH, and I'd love to be there when I marry him! Best of luck to us all!

Looking to drop the 30 pounds I have gained in the past 2-3 years from being "happy". I am trying to cut out soda (which I am doing a pretty good job of) and I also have been going to the gym 5 days a week and doing 30 minutes on the elliptical (which watching Say Yes to the Dress, lol) and then about 15-20 minutes of weights. The scale hasn't gone down too much (2-3 pounds) but I can already see definition in my arms :)

@Scribbles: I am a june 2012 bride trying to lose about 17 pounds. I tried weightwatchers and it did not seem to work for me. I currently doing the insanity program which is not really a weight loss program but it tones your entire body.

@ivorywedding: I've been on WeightWatchers for just under a year and last week I decided to give it up - it definitely helped me with my disordered eating but I think it's a programme that you can only learn so much from before you just have to get on with it yourself.

Hi everyone! I'm a June bride and I've lost 44 lbs so far since we got engaged just before Christmas. I have about 50 left to lose and I'm hoping to lose at least another 30 or so before the wedding. I'm doing Weight Watchers and it's working well but it's coming off fairly slowly since I seem to encounter special events and the like practically every week!

Good luck to everyone in their losing efforts!!!

Oh I am definitely trying to lose weight! I weigh more than I ever have now (and I have been pregnant before so that says a lot). My goal is to lose 25 pounds and be a street size 8. I have already ordered my gown and when I ordered it in May I was 10 lbs heavier than my goal weight. Now I am 10 pounds heavier than i was in May Embarassed.

Anyway, I have been away from home for the last month so i have been using my alone time to focus on eating better, taking vitamins and getting into an exercise routine. I hope to keep it up when I get home to my hectic lifestyle.

First post on the bee boards! i have lost 25lbs since February just by following a little something I like to call "boys eat more and sharing is caring." I used to eat the same amout as my Fiance but I came to realization that my portions should be smaller than his. Now I smaller sizes of the delicious food he makes me and when we go for dessert or somewhere with big meals we share instead of getting our own.

The other part of weight loss is exercising. I now bike or walk everywhere rather then take my car. I still have another 20lbs to get to my ideal healthy weight (I have been steadily gaining weight since I started universty in 2007-I put on over 40lbs :O ). It's amazing how easy it is to drop weight just by changing a few habits; but the best part is that I have not gained any weight back because my new habits are part of a lifestyle now :)

    Good luck to you all!
