Just over two months until the big day and I have this left to do:

  • marriage license

  • dance lessons

  • finish BM gift

  • buying them personalized tea from david’s tea

  • made them personalized CDs from songs that we have memories to and I’m making fabric CD cases to put inside the purses I bought them!

  • Finish parents gifts! We are making a family recipe book merged with family recipes from both sides. Each recipe has a family photo and a family memory. Our families love cooking so this should be good!

  • Order cake topper

  • find a guest book

  • final meeting with photog and officiant

  • confirm vendors

  • confirm honeymoon

  • finish playlist

  • finish DIY backdrop

  • find frames and print photos of grandparents who have passed away for ceremony

  • buy steamer for linens

  • buy candy for candy table

  • enjoy two bridal showers and a stag!

  • I truly hope that that’s it!

Hi! I’m getting so excited for the big day– only 47 more days! Eeekk! I totally understand what you mean about wanting to see what other bees have completed (and to see if I’m completely forgetting something!) Here is my list of what I have accomplished thus far:

  • Purchased my veil & accessories (but decided that I dislike my shoes, so I’ll be buying more–oops! lol)
  • Booked my flowers (final meeting this weekend)
  • Finalized all decor-related matters
  • Booked our suite for the wedding night
  • Booked our honeymoon
  • Purchased almost all of our gifts for those in the wedding party (just have to buy some fancy cigars for the guys still)
  • Made our alternative guestbook
  • Have a rough idea of a timeline- will need to finalize that
  • Got everyone but the groom and my dad fitted for their suits
  • Decided on our rehearsal location, just need to confirm/figure out a few more details before the invites go out
  • Gave all bridal party members that their appropriate readings (the ones that are actually doing one)
  • Made our drink tickets
  • We’re doing paper flowers for most of our decor, so I’ve made most of them that we need- I swear, I’m getting so good at it, I could probably do it in my sleep
  • Bought our toasting glasses
  • Made our card box
  • Had my latest fitting for my dress- hoorah it still fits and looks awesome!
  • Have a rough draft of our seating chart- I know that it’ll probably change, but it makes me feel better having a general idea of where people are sitting
  • Made our table numbers– they’re adorable
  • Finished our menus– took FOREVER to do

What I still need to do (booooo)

  • Spray paint my branches to use as a center piece for our eiffel tower vases (dreading this)
  • Make a book archway or possibly columns (this is FI’s job- hehehe)
  • Buy some bowties for our two ring bearers
  • Call and confirm start times with vendors (decorators, photographers, etc.)
  • Book hair and make up trial (trying to do that this week)
  • Finish our wedding programs
  • Finish the last part of the bridesmaids’ bouquets
  • Finalize the playlist, since we’re using an ipod station
  • Go over the plan with our officiant (who has been SUPER hard to get a hold of)
  • I’ve already started making our escort cards, but I need to finish those up
  • Figure out what FI is wearing to the rehearsal dinner lol
  • Figure out where we are going to park the car while we are on our honeymoon (we have to drive about 4 hours to the airport)

There’s probably about six million other things, but that’s all I can think of right now! Hope that helps!! Congrats! 🙂

I have a decent amount left to do:

– Final meetings with: photog, pastor, florist, venue, etc in May

– Finish gifts for parents and wedding party

– Second dress fitting on Friday

– Need to buy: Shoes, garter, jewlery, cake topper, cake cutting set, sparklers

– Hair & Make up trial if I want one

– Make our slideshow for reception

– Figure out how to decorate church

– Finish centerpieces

– Song list for DJ

– Photo list for photographer

– Finish day of timeline

– Make table numbers

– Make rehersal dinner invites & send in May

And I’m sure a lot more, ahhh! I can’t wait until I graduate May 17th so I can actually move home and work on some of it! 47 Days to go!

We just had a powerhouse weekend. We’re getting married at my parents’ home, which is an 8-hour drive from where we live, so we made our last trip before the wedding over the long weekend. Here is what we got done:

-Brought our centrepieces, guestbook, BM gifts (I finished them the day before we left) and flip flops for guests (those have been sitting in my basement since Old Navy’s $1 sale in JUNE!) to my parents’. The less stuff I have to transport when I go the week before the wedding, the better. I can’t believe all that stuff fit in my little Beetle!!

-Met with our photographer and DJ. Final balance for both is paid.

-Made the last changes to our flower order, set up delivery and paid the remaining balance. They even let us bring the vases we’re using in and they’ll store them until the wedding!

-Consulted with the LCBO about wines for the wedding, picked 5, and got an idea of how much of everything we need. We can place the order over the phone and the beer doesn’t have to be ordered in advance. My brother has already offered his truck and trailer to pick everything up.

-Had my hair and makeup trials.

-Found out my CATERER DROPPED OUT, but my parents have already almost signed a better, more organized caterer with a tastier menu and who also provides all the dishes and serveware (we were going to have to rent all that with our last caterer) so this is actually good news.

-Finalized my rental list, FINALLY. I’ve been procrastinating about this so much because I couldn’t decide if we should add more lighting. But it’s done and done now.

What we still have left to do:

-Choose the reading for the ceremony (shortened Catholic mass, we’re only having one)

-Get our marriage license. I have the day off on Monday so that’s when I’m planning to get it.

-Purchase decor for the ceremony. I think I know what I’m going to do, but I need to work out the details still.

-Purchase parents’ gifts and FI’s gift. FI still has to get his GM gifts.

-Finish our programs (still on the fence as to whether to make them fans or not), seating chart and place cards. The seating chart and place cards are 95% done.

-FI just has to finish our place card holders and I will have to sand them.

-Pick the songs for the father-daughter dance (suggestions welcome), mother-son dance and registry signing.

-Figure out how we’re getting to the hotel. I’m finding out that it’s nearly impossible to just rent a goddamn towncar.

-The timeline. OOoooohhhh the timeline. I hate it. This is my most challenging part of the whole planning process.

The list just keeps getting shorter and shorter! It is absolutely surreal how close it is. I’m sure there are things I’m missing but what else is new!
