Anyone have a list of things they need to do this month? Mine are as follows...

    • Hair and Make up Trial
    • Assembly of invites
    • ordering my photo canvasas of past generations of wedding and grandparents who are not longer with us.
    • Finalizing my program wording!
    • And running my first 5k but i suppose that's not TOTALLY wedding related!

Hello to 2 date twins!  @ Ashco-- Good luck in your first 5k!  I am a runner who has (finally) worked my way up to marathons and half marathons (thinking about signing up for a half marathon in May just so I have something other than the wedding to obsess over!).  Once you start running, you can't stop!!

My March to-do is getting massive!  Here is a sampling...

-We still need to find an officiant, which is proving much harder than I anticipated

    - Sign contract for bus from reception to hotel

-Finish assembling DIY invites and send out invites by end of March

    -Schedule Tasting with reception venue

-Figure out where we are going on our honeymoon

    -1st dress fitting

-Schedule hair and make up appointments for wedding day

    Ours is

    - Find an officiant (ugh... this has been my least favorite and most difficult part)

    - Approve proof, get and sent invites

    - Book Tuxes

    - Pick up my wedding band

    - start making FI's band (I'm machining it out of titanium)

    - Hair Trial

    - Put together Direction and staying here sheets to go out with the invites...

    - Probably several other items that I'm forgetting about...

@amaroo24-- First, you are MAKING your FI wedding band?!  That si awesome!

Also, I totally agree about finding an officiant!  I had not anticipated how hard and how expensive this task was going to end up being!

I was last june, but in march all I could think about was invitations!

We also did our pre-marital counseling, booked our honeymoon, and did our tastings!

    Good luck! :-)

I'm shocked to say that I don't have much to do this month!  Crazy huh?  I want to get all of my invitations done so I don't have to scramble to finish them before I send them out in April.  I do have a few payments to make, I got the reminders that the 90 day mark is approaching.  Writing those big checks kills us a little bit everytime.  I'm still waiting for my veil to come in so hopefully I can go pick that up this month too!  Everything else is pretty much done or has to wait until closer to the day.  Yikes!

@MsTerrapin, i offered to purchase one for FH.  But he thinks it is cool that I can machine metal and have access to a shop with the tools necessary (having a couple of machinests and friends who have done this helps too).  It should be fun!

    Whew, where to start...

    • Find/order cake (probably from a grocery store)
    • Review sample centerpieces from florist
    • Assemble invites
    • Purchase wedding bands (already started looking, just waiting to finalize design)
    • Get engagement photos done - we waited till Cherry Blossom season in DC which will be at the end of March/beginning of April!
    • Hair trial
    • Start working on personalizing ceremony
    • Dress fitting
    • Start designing programs/table numbers

Hmm I suppose I should save this list somewhere. Ah well, it's all in my head. :)

    I have 3 months and 3 days!!!!

    1. Groomsmen/Dad went in for suit fitting (we have to order them early since the tan suit selections are so minimal...at least it got the guys moving on their stuff!)

    2. Ordered wedding bands - mine will take 4-5 weeks, his will only take a couple

    3. Scheduled meeting with Florist

    4. Met with reception location to finalize food/beverage

    5. Printing invitations and addressing them - I think I will make out early April to give the 8 weeks since we have people traveling to the wedding

    6. Scheduled date for shower - but it won't be until May

    7. Double checked our honeymoon flights/details to make sure everything is on track

    8. Booked doggie daycare for our pups while we will be gone

    -Print/assemble invitations

-DIY pomander balls, table signs, escort cards

-Settle the catering and rentals contracts

-Meet with florist and design centerpieces/ceremony decor

-Plan ceremony & do some Catholic paperwork

I'm sure there's a million other things but those are the big ones on my mind right now. The other constant one until June 26 is going to be WORK OUT and spent non-wedding quality time with the future hubs.

    whew!  getting sooo close!

    • finish invites (picked them up from the printer today, but i've decided to back them with another piece of cardstock, for look and weight)
    • meet with caterer, baker, florist, and church facility-coordinator over break when i'm back home
    • schedule fitting (my dress isn't coming in until may, and i will need alterations to start right away when i get home from graduation... ugh!)
    • pick out jewelry (hopefully some from my mom's mother's collection)
    • GET our rings - they should arrive in about a week!  i'm beyond excited to finally see them
    • hair trial with my hairdresser, also when i'm home over break
    • reserve getaway car (simple limo sedan to drive us tired marrieds to our hotel 45 minutes away)
    • get boudoirs taken over break, too.  (can you tell it will be a busy "break"!?)
    • maybe make the "favor" cards (donating to a favorite missions organization in honor of our day) and escort cards (and at least the seating layout!)

i've gotten lots done, though!  i have my shoes, the dress is on the way, the invites are mostly done, the guestbook pages are designed, bridesmaids all have their dresses, most of the groomsmen are fitted for tuxes, and the registry is (mostly) finished.  just missing some input from FI, who is out on cruise (not the fun kind.  the Navy kind, where he's gone for 3+months)

    sigh.  excited?  i guess!  Wink

I guess it's too late to make a March to-do list. But I'll make this a March/April list:

    1) Ask a friend to officiate

    2) Ask a friend to do a reading at the wedding

    3) Hire a DJ

    4) Find clothes for the groom and his men

    5) Put a deposit down on the rehearsal dinner location

    6) Hire ceremony musicians

    7) Have a hair and make-up trial

    8) Crafting: moss monograms, aisle decorations, bridesmaid jewelry

I'm actually feeling good about the wedding since the invitations went out on Monday.
