ok – out to all June brides, why did you choose your date?
I actually wanted to get married on June 27 (which woulda been this past year, 2009) because June 27 is my grandparents anniversary – but we originally decided 2 year engagement instead of only 1…
so TECHNICALLY our “wedding anniversary” will be June 26 as that’s what the date was always set at from our engagement – however (long story short – we’re married for him to have insurance / surgery) our legal marriage date is April 13, 2009! :p
we will always celebrate June 26 though.

- Wedding: June 2010 - Ceremony - First United Methodist Church; Reception - My parents' house!
We chose the 19th because it’s the day before my parents’ 40th anniversary. I so wish the 20th had landed on a Saturday!

I’m a teacher!!
We get out of school June 3 and June 26 was the only available weekend in June! We were shooting for June 19, but not for any reason in particular!

I was hoping for July 10 (not sure why that was the magic date!) but his best man got engaged 3 weeks before us and they picked July 17. My Fiance is also a groomsman in his wedding, so having ours exactly 1 week before theirs just wouldn’t work. So June 26 ended up being far enough before theirs and long enough after our college graduation on May 15 for me not to go insane!

We knew we wanted to have graduated first, so that means that it had to be after June 15th, and it had to be before late July/early August because of grad school/moving stress. July in Chicago is pretty much unbearable, so June was the natural choice.

Like soonerpsych, I chose July 10 as our wedding date originally. We changed to June 26 for two reasons: 1 – the weather will likely be nicer and the fields greener (outdoor reception) on June 26 in our part of the country and 2 – my family priest is retiring on June 27, so if we had gone with July 10, he may not have been able to do the wedding. I really didn’t want a stranger to marry us, and my family priest played a big role in my life (and even my engagement!)

- Wedding: June 2010 - New York Botanical Garden
we chose june because it was after my fiance’s graduation from med school, and it was not a holiday weekend. he starts residency probably at the end of the june, so we wanted time to go away. So first weekend in june it was!

We have our date set to June 12, 2010. When we first got engaged on February 14, 2008 (Valentine’s day!) I wanted a spring wedding, but I wanted to push the wedding forward because since it’s such a huge decision and all I needed some more time (I love him very much and he’s the one I want to spend the rest of my life with, but I had wedding jitters or something) any how we compromised with a summer wedding. I love the month of June I think it’s perfect for a wedding.
We chose the exact date “12th” because he didn’t want to get married on his birthday weekend (his b-day is on 6/7) and the weekend after the “12th” was the pastors birthday and we didn’t want to spoil his fun.
So we chose June 12th, 2010
I’m so excited only 106 more days until I get married!
Congrats all June brides!

I originally chose June 26th but was mortified when I found out that it’s the weekend when like the biggest musical festival ever starts. Summerfest: we have it every year. So much fun, lots of music activities, shopping, eating, drinking but it to is on the lake and I was not about to have my wedding competeting with that. So we stepped back a week to June 19th.

My mom requested that she be out of school… she’s a teacher… So she requested the “end of june” the 25th is the last saturday, so we picked that. 🙂
Mother knows best!

Fiance is still in school so we wanted the wedding to be after school got out but early enough to enjoy being a married couple over the summer before jumping back into the craziness that is working and going to school. We also wanted to be able to take a couple of weeks off to go on our honeymoon!

We got engaged over christmas this year. My brother (military med rotations), my mother (a teacher) and my Fiance and I could make ~5 weekends out of the summer and fall (one of the 4 had a conflict with every other weekend). Forget about waiting until 2011 family things just get crazy! We called around asking for availablity for these 5 weekends and the venue we liked had June 12 (one of the five weekends) so June 12 it is!

I originally wanted June 26 for no particular reason except it would be easy for my Maid of Honor to come after school was out for her (she is a school teacher), AND that there is a full moon on that date. I love the look of a full moon over water. However our wedding planner (who I absolutely loved) booked a wedding the same day we met for the first time and it was a June 26 wedding. Our next option was June 12, which turned out to be better since we celebrate our dating anniversary on June 10 anyway. All we will have to do is add 2 years for every year we’ve been married for the rest of our lives… and that’s how long we will have known each other.

Full moon was our major reason too, since our wedding is outdoors at a lake. I wanted to do Labor Day or Memorial Day weekends, but an acquaintance with an overlapping guest list already had Memorial Day, and a close friend couldn’t come after June b/c of a new job. That only left us a handful of weekends….went for the end of the month b/c it’s the full moon and June is only barely summer here (our “true” summer is in September/October!), so later was better weather-wise. But then we found out my great-grandparents were married on the 26th in 1915, which was just a cool coincidence and seemed like a harbinger of good luck. Hopefully. 🙂

We chose the 26th because 1. the 19th my Maid/Matron of Honor and a Bridesmaid or Best Man are graduating, and B. I don’t get done teaching until the 21st!
I can’t wait for it to be hereeeee.
