When I think about the fact that I originally wanted April, October or November as our wedding months I think about the weather the easiest time for everyone including my son in school and June seems like the best choice but now I see EVERYTHING is more expensive in June and now I feel like I made a massive mistake! The biggest issue I’m having is the honeymoon… yay cruises are most expensive in June. Wish I would have known that sooner but after researching to book another cruise for 2013 I realized it can’t be for our 1 year anniversary cause we can’t afford that every year and I checked out both our birth months and holidays (so much cheaper!)
It’s too late to change the date now because we already have the venue and booked the cruise but this really got me down today and then I pictured all the other cool themes I could have done in the fall or how awesome it would have been to get married in April when we started dating… Oh well… just needed to vent and to see if anyone else is seeing the price hike for June?

We took our honeymoon in early June, which with a lot of companies is still considered ‘off peak’ time.
🙁 it is crappy that the summer months are always so much more expensive!

@peacheslea: Oh yeah the end of June is definitely peak season =( at least you get a little price break =) I never really noticed it until a few days ago and I’ve been planning since February- lol.

It depends on where you go. Its cheaper to go to the Caribbean in the summer because its so much hotter

Yeah, the carribbean is a lot cheaper in the summer because of the heat…so i’m wondering what cruises you are looking at? Is it a cruise that goes somewhere else? Because if it isn’t you should shot around.

It really depends on where you go. We went to Key West in June, it was actually cheaper because summer is “off season”.

Going to the Bahamas from Baltimore the price for rooms without a balcony werent super horrible but we have a suite which doesn’t help things lol. Then I look at the price for the same suite in October, January and February and I was floored by the difference. It’s not just the honeymoon however it seems to be everything. It’s like people hear June wedding and quote me a price almost 2 times what they started with… DJ’s, photographers even one of the venues we looked at lol.

My fiance and are I are getting married June 10th, and decided to take a few days in new hampshire right after the wedding, and have our official honeymoon in september!

Ugh, we haven’t even thought about honeymoon yet. That is the area I put my FI in charge of. We know we want to be on a beach somewhere. I’m a little leery of traveling out of the country (except on a cruise). He’s a little more adventurous than I am. Hopefully we can find a place that is reasonable! I have seen that Groupon has been offering some getaways, but I haven’t really looked into those yet. I’m sure there’s some kind of catch :-).

We went to Seattle in June and it wasn’t that expensive, you just need to find a place that isn’t that expensive.

We’re actually going on our honeymoon at the end of 2012 – we want time to save money for our trip and it will probably be the last big trip before little scribbles are on the scene (at least that’s the plan)! We’re planning a big trip taking in Los Angeles, Vegas & Oahu – we know it will be winter there so we’re hoping that makes things a little cheaper but the main reason for the timing is that December/January is when we have a long break – kind of like June/July for you all I guess 🙂
