I have to change my wedding date to March so I am changing my accent color to green and I need a new theme, any ideas about a jungle themed wedding?

If it's done right, it could be interesting, if not it could be kinda tacky like a little kid's birthday party.

I love the color green. What shade are you going with? my favorite is emerald green.

I 100% agree with britshingingstar - It could go horrible wrong if not done  properly. Honestly when I think of it and 'picture' it, I get leopard print, foliage, animals ect pop into my head and to me it seems weird for a wedding....

    Do you NEED a theme?

Could you not just have a green wedding and do it either more traditional decor or modern decor?

I don't really have a theme, i'm using ruby red, black and white, that's my theme, it's classy and sharp by itself.

Maybe try that route. How about green and silver. those look great together.

Green and silver reminds me of Slytherin in the Harry Potter books.  :)

Emerald green as the main shade, and then a few other "jewel tone" ones would look great!

Maybe a garden party theme, eco-firendly theme, or tropical wedding theme. What type of venue are you using?

I'm getting married at the Sheraton it has huge waterfall in the back of it I could probably pull off the tropical theme.  I have a huge hall for the reception it pretty basic that's why I need a theme so that I can decorate it.  its just a huge open area

Chantellamus I'm not a modern or traditional bride thats why I'm trying to do something different I am the complete opposite of that I have to have a wow factor in everything I do.  Its kind of expected so I understand what you all are saying about the tacky looking elementary theme thats why I was going to go to the extreme with animals and everything just draping the ceilings with green fabric or the pillars with some greenary then do more on the tablecenter pieces those were my original thoughts.

how about a tropical garden instead of a jungle, you can still work with the waterfall and green but perhaps have more variety. i'm thinking less spotted leopard and striped tigers, more gorgeous splashes of bright colors (think birds of paradise, ginger flowers, bouganvilla, hibiscus, parrots, hummingbirds, brightly hued butterflies)

I think this could be really fun!  Maybe keep it more simple than over the top in order to make sure it isn't too much.  I saw a wedding a while back that was black, white and green, but the black/white element was actually ZEBRA print.  It was tastefully done and added a really cool unexpected and exotic look to the wedding.  Maybe you could incorporate a few prints (zebra, leopard, etc.) with other solid colors to bring it together.  Here are a couple pictures I found online...

@ missomally: I love those cupcakes in the first picture!

I think a jungle theme could work and be really interesting. I'd go more earthy/planty with the decor but maybe sneak in animal prints (very few) here and there to avoid it being birthday-ish.

I really think it would be great, as long as animal prints are minimal. You can definately do it. I love those inspiration boards.

Oh my gosh, you are so lucky...if done right I think it will be amazing.

I asked my SO about a jungle themed wedding awhile ago and he flat out said no.

I think that would be awesome! Missomally has some great suggestions, those cupcakes are adorable.

You could have some very fun photobooth props too! Like animal masks!
