I don't know how everyone else feels about this, but in looking at photos of beautiful weddings, one thing that drives me crazy is in the photo of the gorgeous dress (sometimes hanging over the bed, a window etc.) is hung on a flimsy, plastic hanger!

Is anyone else planning on getting a beautiful satin padded hanger for their dress?

That is a good call - I think a padded hanger is the proper way to care for your dress, isn't it? Plus it would look SO much nicer in pictures! I will have to remember to buy one!

Good call.  Honestly, with what we pay for dresses, the shops should provide one.

I've seen that, and I agree. The satin hangers are really beautiful, and you can always use them later to hang your nicest lingerie on, right?

I've found them on amazon for $12.99 for 10 hangers, so they're not even really that expensive.

Now if I only knew where to find one of those beautiful dress form/bust hangers I've seen... :)

My shop did provide one; I didn't know that was somehow unique.  I just thought it was how the dresses came...

The hangers in my closet are all either wood or padded depending on the garment...my wedding dress will definitely have a padded hanger :)

My shop provided a beautiful wood hanger that I love and a cloth garment bag (which my MOH lost, long story).

Calioteach, I wouldn't say that looks bad at all! The hanger is clear, so it looks like your gown is just floating there.

i wouldn't mind a standard hanger, but for a little over a dollar each, having a wedding gown to hang on them is a good excuse to buy some beautiful, padded hangers!

I've seen some really cute hangers that have the new initals monogramed.  I think a dress shot with a special hanger would look great!

I like Miss Ducky's idea of a hanger with the monogram, I'll remember that in the future for others that I know are getting married!
