I'm just gonna say it---I'm so tired of Subway.  I've been trying to watch what I eat so I can lose some weight and look even better in my dress, but honestly, I don't think I can eat another Subway sandwich.  There isn't much around where I work so my options are quite limited.  Usually I try to bring lunch from home, but the times that I don't I try and steer my vehicle towards Subway, instead of, oh, say Sonic, McD's or Arby's.  UGH   I am regretting my lunch at Sonic.  I feel like hell and I could take a nappy nap right under my desk.  If only my office area had a door on it......

Anyone else having a problem sticking to better eating while they are stressed and pick something else for lunch and feel like el poo?

I know what you mean!  When I was working, it was so tough to find good things to eat for lunch.  And Subway is something I can't eat very often.

RAISING MY HAND!!! I also try and bring my lunch; but lets face it; I don't always have time to pack after I hit my snooze 3 times before I get up... So fast food it is. I usually try and get something "halfway" decent but sometimes my cravings get the best of me.... I agree; subway gets old pretty fast; & there are even tempting things like BMT's and Meatball subs that tease me...

& actually when I do eat super healthy for lunch; I'm usually so hungry by the time supper rolls around right when I get off work; that I don't eat very good..... So sometimes something with a little substance works better for me @ lunch time...

I TOTALLY get it! It's so hard to find low-cal lunches, even in a city with lots of options. I've been eating Subway like it's my job (when I don't bring my lunch), and I was seriously just thinking "I can't eat another Subway sandwich!" I really like sandwiches, though (not a fan of salads), so you know, with the bread it's hard to find low-cal ones. Cosi uses flatbreads, so I'm thinking they might be my next obsession. Hmmm. I almost cracked today and get a bagel sandwich that was like 800 calories or something. But I didn't. Phew!

And I'm just not someone who can bring lunch everyday. I try to shoot for three times a week, which I usually stick to, but it's really hard to prepare everything and take it all with, etc.

Honestly, I try and steer clear of subway because of the bread. I know it's all hyped-up to be super healthy and stuff, but when I look at the size & puffiness of that bread, I really wonder to myself how that can be healthier than the 2 (boring) sqare slices I have at home!

I love bread though.. a sandwich is always more appealing on a hoagie roll :)

I hate Subway. I think it's gross. I usually bring my lunch but I had to take someone out and I ended up eating 3/4 of a calzone and a salad.....and the rest of the calzone is on my desk, saying "eat me!"

It happens to the best of us!  I think it's actually a good thing to do this once in a while because it will remind you how crappy you feel from having a bad lunch and encourage you to eat healthy!

Sometimes having leftovers just doesn't do it for me.  It's also a pain to fit everything into my lunchbox thing (which looks ugly like a construction site lunchbox by the way) and it can be difficult.  To carry anything bigger I would feel like a total pig, but in truth, fitting all the little containers for the meat, side, fruit, whatever is a lot.

tulip:  Good point, but do you have any Tums?  ;)

I usually eat Subway a couple times a week.  You have to be careful though because all the sauces except maybe two are very fattening! They are also loaded in sodium.  This week I brought cereal with some berries and banana on it.  It was okay.  Making/planning lunches is very tiring.

it happens to all of us.  i'm personally not fan of fast food at all but it's the sweets that get me.  I try to bring lunch 3 to 4 times per week.  The days I don't I like to go to the nearest grocery store and pick up a lean cuisine or hit up their salad bar.  I love salads and it's a way healthier option than any convenience food.

Bride_Colleen:  Oh no doubt.  I love the spicy mustard so I think I'm good there.  I actually just do the turkey with all the veggies on it so I come out really well, but it gets so old.

Meowkers:  A nearby grocery store would be wonderful for their salad bar----dang it!  I do have a Walmart they don't do that there unfortunately.  Plus, it's one of the crummy Walmarts here in the Springs with some homeless dudes usually hanging around outside. EEK.

Yeah, Walmarts in the Springs are scary!  I think I went there twice.

Have you SEEN my lunch box? Wait for it....wait for it...

it's a 16 can cooler tote. It's bigger than a backpack or purse. And they make fun of me for pigging out all day but it's mostly healthy. I like things separated.

Is it just me, or do all Subway sandwiches taste the same? Tuna? Meatball? Veggie? They all taste like the bread. And don't get me started on the "$5 footlong thing" - it's still $10 in mid-town.

I'm trying low-carb so I stay away from Subway - mostly cuz I love the cookies they sell too!!

A good idea for when you get tired of subway is to keep Nutrition facts in your glove compartment. Most restaurants will provide you with a sheet of nutrition facts if you ask (they are usually on the back of the food trays).

When you go to the fast food restaurant, get something that will be less than 500 calories. Try the grilled sandwich, skip the fries (or Tots @ Sonic), add a fruit cup (or apple fries(BK), apple dippers(McD), and get water (diet soda if u MUST). This way you can get something different, "bad" without pigging out and completely sabotaging your diet.

@Dancy, yes, they all taste the same. They all taste like cardboard! ha! They're so bland and there isn't enough protein on those sandwiches to do much for my appetite. But all that bread makes me wanna snooze

@MissAB and CurlySue:  would you ladies believe that I've never been to a walmart? haha  There's only one within like a 50 mile radius and no one I know ever goes.  is that ridiculous?  I guess they're pretty popular everywhere else?
