I was just curious if anyone wanted to share their crafty side! I have tried a few things: mosaics, resin bottlecaps, lace making, decoupage and now I find myself with several old windows that I have NO idea what to do with! Lol! Someone else’s junk has become my junk at the moment.
Someone tell me to STOP BUYING WINDOWS!!! I need an intervention.

I’m not necessarily “crafty”, but I guess “artsy”- I paint abstract and landscape paintings, and draw portrait drawings :)… Mostly I paint though, in my spare time.

Ellee16: Oh I’ve aaaaaaaaalways wanted to learn how to paint!! That’s awesome that you know how!
Laurenplusalex: That is LOVELY!! I’ve never heard of ribbon embroidery, but I did try cross stitch and boy did I learn I don’t have the patience for it. Though that was years ago, maybe I shoudl try again??

RedHeadKel: thanks! I find ribbon embroidery easier than cross stitch, and faster. I first read about it my mom’s Martha Stewart magazine a few years back. My style is simpler and messier than hers, but I’ve made a few things for my mom and grandmothers that they’ve liked, as well as this piece. I use Aida, the cross stitch fabric with holes, but a much bigger, duller needle, since a little one will easily snap and is harder to thread.

I don’t have anything crafty that I do regularly but pinterest has inspired a whole bunch a whole bunch of ideas that I have stacked up. Right now my kitchen is full of antique furniture that I’m repurposing. I also have a trunk full of stuff from thrift stores to repurpose. Like silver trays for the walls or to make chalkboards. Ugh, I wish I could twitch my nose and just poof it all done.

I craft quite a bit, but I don’t work so I have lots of time. Recently I’ve made 2 boppy pillows with slip covers, 2 paper mobiles and crocheted a bunch of baby items.

This is an embroidery project I did with the girl I used to babysit, as her gift to her mom. Very easy, and it turned out cute in the end!

Yes! I’m always crafting- in fact, when we moved into our apartment, I made sure to get one with an extra room that is now my craft room!
I mostly sew, embroider, make jewelry and do papercrafts (scrapbooking- anyone here doing Project Life?) but I’ll try anything once. I have a paper quilling kit I got for Christmas I need to try, I knit on occaision (although I’m not very good), I’m learning calligraphy and I want to learn to crochet. I also dabble in photography and I love to draw and paint.
Right now my big projects are my ongoing Project Life book, sewing myself a parka (I live in the Arctic so its a pretty heavy duty project), and painting a giant map of Westeros for my SO as a surprise.

Hand lettering is my artsy endeavor of choice right now!

Love arts and crafts!! I do a lot of vision boards and planner decorating on a regular basis…if that can be considered crafts. I love doing mixed-media shadow box memory collages as gifts for people…here’s one I did for my husband for I think our second dating anniversary: Not my best but it makes me smile 🙂
Not really ‘craft’ but I love sketching works of my favorite artists and just random pop art girls…here’s one of a Roy Lichtenstein:
My biggest craft project in recent history was definitely my home L-letterpress invitations. They came out incredible but that was SO MUCH WORK!!

RedHeadKel: I think it runs in my family, lol. In every family on my dad’s side, there is one of us that has a knack for art! You should take a class or something! 🙂
Here’s one of my most recent paintings-

RedHeadKel: My Fi and I have an etsy store so we are very crafty. He does photography as well on the side in addition to his job. I make everything from pillow cases to party garland. I just made us a bunting banner for our engagement photos tonight. I’m pretty excitedabout it.

I’m constantly crafting… I seem to always have fabric/felt stuck to me. I make lots of things around my house and for my kiddo. His birthday parties are always hand made. That’s my current project at the moment actually! This year we are doing a camping theme. These are his favors (not quite finished yet):
I got some of the patterns on etsy and freehanded a few elements. I’m making one set for each kid (8 total).
