I’ve had some ring drama this week ie: one of my side diamonds fell out after owning the ring for 5 months!!!!, the ring is now in CA getting fixed. Joy. I’m worried this will happen again (do not recommend buying from the Jewelry Exchange, by the way).
My birthday is in October, and opal is my birth month stone. I don’t own any opal – what a shame!! I decided to look on etsy (instead of working, naturally) for opal rings. I found this beauty for $150 from fairytaletreasures:
I’m not sure if I’ll wear both rings (one on each hand) or skip my “engagement ring” altogether. My engagement ring has my FMIL’s previous center diamond in a new setting, and my FI spent money on it, so I can’t not wear it ever. Maybe I should have just gone the etsy route to begin with!

Love it! My e-ring is off at the jewlers so I’m currently sporting my opal as well!

So pretty! It looks a lot like the one my mom’s parents gave her when she graduated high school :).

i love opals!! it wouldve been my first choice for a stone if i wasnt so clumsy =P
i think the setting is soooo perfect too. id say jus wear both rings :D, but keep in mind opals are much softer stones so you have to be careful with bumping it around on things as it might fall out of the setting easily. maybe you can wear it just for special occassions 🙂

@ninjajane: I’ll probably only wear this when I’m outside of the house 🙂

I love opals! This is really pretty! My mom has some opal earrings and i think a necklace she got from her aunt. I wish she had a ring, because i’d totally steal it.

Its beautiful, i love how it catches the light and shines different colours. I used to have an opal but in silver, and the opal was round surrounded by garnets…..and i lost it 🙁
