Yesterday I had my first appt with our RE. We have been TTC for 8 months now. I took three cycles of clomid and ovulated in two of them. No luck. Very irregular periods for my whole adult life. When I realized I wasn’t pregnant last month I was devastated. Yesterday when I found out what I had suspected-that I have pcos-i was just heartbroken. That explains our issues but now I add that worry onto our struggle.
I am now taking femara. Who has had good luck with this one? He said that he has seen better luck on this than clomid. I guess I’m just looking for some positive stories right now to lift my spirits. I’m hoping with all of my being that this is our month and our miracle drug.

I have PCOS and didn’t have success until a gonadotropin injection + femara cycle.
However, you are lucky because you did successfully ovulate on clomid. This is a big win IMO. I didn’t ovulate on clomid or femara alone at all.
I am surprised that, even though you were ovulating on clomid he changed your drug instead of changing something else; such as, the times you are having intercourse, a trigger shot, IUI, etc.
Did he explain his reasoning for this?

FMM: I’m glad to hear that you found what works for you! He gave us several options and wanted to see what we were most comfortable with. We said that we just want it to work and he told us that he has seen better luck with femara than clomid. I also will take an ovidrel injection after a successful scan. He also have is the option of iui, which we can decide when i go in for my next scan. if we had wanted to take it more slowly this month he would have let us but we are just getting impatient! Lol

this is my first cycle trying Femara. Any success stories will be appreciated!
Also I will like to know about your experience using femara + opks.

PenelopeQ: hey! I just took my first round of femara and am currently 6dpo. I’ve ovulated on my own before but very late and inconsistently. This is the first cycle where I had noticeable EWCM. I’ve had positive OPKs before but also had them on this cycle during the EWCM. Good luck to you! I’ll keep you posted in a few days with my outcome.

Femara +hcg shot + iui is the reason I’m sitting here holding my little one. I have pcos and my dh has male factor.

EverAfterBegins: can you tell us some more about your experience? we might be dealing with PCOS + MFI (not definite yet), and I would love to hear what’s clearly a success story 🙂
