Congrats! I'm hoping to start it next week once I'm not sick anymore.
I did my first shred workout today! I'm already tired so I'm sure I will be sore tomorrow.
It's surprisingly tough isn't it?? I did it two days in a row and could hardly sit!
I don't think I can do two days in a row, I like resting muscle groups for 48 hours between workouts.
I was that way too! My second day I went with J and helped him clean/organize his classroom. I had to carry heavy boxes and stuff across the room and seriously thought I was going to drop something because my arms were shaking so bad! BUT I am now 2 weeks in and I feel amazing!!! My energy is up, I have way better stamina through the workouts, I am no longer sore afterward (that went away after a little over a week for me), my arms and legs are stronger (and I think my arms have toned up a bit), my abs are WAY stronger (although there's still a layer of fat over them - I think I would have to drastically change how I eat to get rid of that, and for now I'm too lazy, haha - arms show in the dress, tummy doesn't!).
It's totally worth it, and because it's so short (just a few minutes on each muscle group), you really can do it every day without needing to rest them between like @MissAsB: is worried about (no offense!).
Seriously, it's different from hardcore weight training that way, I think. Because it's shorter, it's okay to do every day. :)
Keep it up!!!
@daydreamwanderer: Yeah maybe you're right. I'm just used to my trainer saying that you shouldn't work the same muscle group two days in a row but maybe since it's more of an all body thing that doesn't focus too much on one muscle group, you don't have to worry as much?
@daydreamwanderer: Actually it isn't good to do the same workout multiple days in a row. My fiance is a trainer part time and was telling me that its a good workout, but its better to mix it up and do different things because it confuses your muscles more and gives certain parts time to heal and repair themselves. It's still the same as doing a tough workout because its just condensed into a shorter amount of time. It would be better if you were doing the shred every day, to alternate between level1, level 2, and level 3 on different days of the week. Also it would be counterintuitive to do it 30 days in a row because you need rest time.
I've done each level of the shred a bunch of times now, so level 1 is now my 'I want an easier workout' workout. :) The first few times I did it, I was dying. So it gets better... much better.
I didn't follow the recommended trajectory though, as I know I'd get bored doing each level several days in a row.
I did level one again tonight. Yea for me! I gave myself a rest day yesterday since I was SO sore. I agree with mixing it up. I might try Jillian's fat burning one tomorrow.
eh, I'm NOT an exerciser, so there's no science behind my views. :) I just know that I feel better the longer I do it, and that I can see a lot more progress in terms of my own stamina if I keep doing the same day over and over.
On the recommendation of Bees before me though, my plan has been to do the 30 days (10/10/10) and then alternate levels 2 and 3 afterward. So far, so good. :)
@daydreamwanderer: You are better than me
I ran tonight and almost died my last ten minutes. I'm out of shape but it did feel really good and I feel much less stressed.
Just finished my third shred! I am a "need my gold stars" person, so posting on here really helps motivate me. It took me seven days to get the first three in, but definitely getting easier. daydream- thanks for your updates on results. Anyone else? Please tell me I will look hot after all this!
Did my 1st shred workout last night. Im in soooo much pain today! Thought i was gonna die going up the steps lol. Im not athletic at all, so my body is in shock lol. Hopefully i build a tolerance for it. lol
Reading this is making me wonder what the heck Shred is and if I should attempt it out.
I had done the Shred a few months ago and never had a problem with being too sore afterward, but I did it this week and I've been sore for the past two days!
Maybe it's because I haven't done any strength training or squats or anything in a while because I was just focusing on cardio and getting in the swing of working out. I'm going to try to do it at least twice a week and go to the gym.

I just did my first shred workout, and wow- mild trouble walking down stairs. It's going to be hard to torture myself this much, so I need a little motivation. For those who got through the whole 30 days, please tell me how much it worked!
