I agree! I had a few that came back with no names and the numbers really saved me!
Haha. I really wonder who is not attending. Guess I won't know until the rest of them come in! Hopefully I don't have too many blanks, cause I don't have time fore solving these little mysteries!
I most definitely numbered mine. I was a must for me...I'm glad that I did now. lol
I agree! We got at least two blank ones back, but thankfully I had numbered them so it wasn't an issue.
if you dont have a seating chart and are having a buffet, do you still number them>?
@stephanie63087: I would probly still number them... Even if you don't have a seating chart wouldn't it be nice to know exactly who is and isn't coming instead of just how many people are coming?
@stephanie63087: YES! it is to help you know who is replying!! Sometimes people dont put their name on their RSVP card!! All you get is a response and dont know who it is from!
i ignored it too, changed the M line with the exact same logic...WRONG!
future brides, number em! :)
@stephanie63087: yes because at the end you want to know who sent the RSVPs and who never did...any that come blank will fall into the "not returned" category, leaving you with more people to contact for the final count if you are using a caterer. at least that's my reasoning. i don't want to be short on food or pay for a single head that doesn't come!
We didn't number ours, we actually printed the names of the people on the back and then also used their return name and address on the envelope. I haven't sent them out yet but I am hoping this plan works! I am also hoping this makes it very clear who exactly is invited and not all the kids.
I have never heard of numbering rsvp cards!Thank GOD I read posts on this site.So much grief that I will be saving myself when I do mine. Thanks for the idea. Will probably use the crayolas that are invisible when written down and only visible only if u go over it with the other crayola in the set.
I used labels to address our invitations, so I just printed a second set and used them to return address the response cards so that I know who sends what in case they forget to write in their names. :-)
Thanks for the advice I think I will number them before i send them out.
@Earlybride: Thank goodness for the bee! That is where I first heard of this and am very glad I numbered.
Yesterday I also received a blank one with regrets. Thanks for telling me your not coming, could you also say who you are?! I just wrote the number on the back in pen, nothing fancy but nobody has noticed.

I thought I'd get around the whole "nameless RSVP" problem by avoiding the commonly confusing "M" line (M__________). Instead I wrote Name(s)____________.
And under that ___will attend ___will not attend ___number attending.
Guess what!? Someone sent one back with JUST the not attending box checked. Nothing else. That was it. Wtf!
Number them ladies. Just do it. I should have take this advice from at least 5 other brides and I ignored it and I was wrong! I was so wrong. Please, take the advice. You'll thank me later.
