I swear, the closer we are getting to closing the distance gap the harder this is getting. We just had a weekend together that was of course fantastic but leaving him at the airport sucks booty. Only 5 more months until I move and 5 weeks until the next visit so I will survive. I can’t wait to be done with this. Just wanted to get it out there. Good thing he is worth it!

I feel for ya! I think this year we’ve had more travel time than we’ve had hours awake with each other! And yep- the anticipation of finally moving in together is making the distance seem harder than ever!

Oh my gosh, I know how you feel. My fiancé is from Canada and I’m from California and we rarely get to see each other. By the time one of us leaves, I’ve cried a river at the airport (I’ve gotten some funny looks and some “Are you okay?”s).
“Only 5 more months until I move” That’s a great way to think of it. Time will go by and soon you’ll be married and never HAVE TO leave each other again. I wish you guys the best!

I feel ya!! FI and I are from the same area, but he moved out of state last year for his career. We’ve been very fortunate to see each other much more than we thought he would (he came home on business for about a month at one point!), but we have definitely felt an even greater urgency in counting down to the wedding! The airport is the worst, too! I’ve been lucky in that he usually has a rental car when he’s home for business, so I get to cry in the privacy of my own home, but still – the airport trips are awful! Its great that you’re maintaining a pretty positive outlook 🙂

August will be here before you know it! I still have until Nov 2012 (He’s in Louisiana and I’m in PA) :o/ .. Let the countdown begin!! Good luck with your move :o)
@noenyu: I am an airport crier, too! I try not to, to avoid the looks and occasional comments, but it just never seems to get any easier.

You’ll get through it, I promise! Moving to Australia to be with FI is the best decision I ever made, airport goodbyes were getting way too hard! Goodluck!!

I remember going through this too, I know it can be tough! Try to think of the light at the end of the tunnel. We did long distance for almost two years before I moved…it’s been 7 months now, and I can definitely say it was all worth it.
Just try to imagine that point when you’ll be together and will be able to look back on all of the tough long distance stuff and think of it as a phase that you made it through. You can do it!
