like it love it or hate it??/ I'm sooo glad its done but sooo scared to transport it!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything!..... well, everything but the necklace. I'm guessing that's what she wanted, huh... never seen that... and I've seen a lot of cakes! haha
The execution of it is fantastic though!
sure is..they have a vintage black white and burgundy damsk kinda theme going, its just missing the roses that will go on top, getting the delivery tomorrow! im having mine made and Im actually kinda jealous ;)
@KLP2010: thank you ..yes shes wanted some kind of chains and vintage cross..(they are kinda rockstar ish...weird and dark..) but i did it as traditioanl as i could
oh btw this is the 2nd cake i ever baked so i had no friggen idea what i was doing
You did a great job! The colors aren't my thing, I like lighter colors! I think the structure and the beading is great! The fondant is soo smooth.
THANKS!!!! well now i know why wedding cakes are so expensive they are allot of work..but the best part is this brush on pearl dust that makes the cake look soo smooth and shimmery..made all of the difference! and the jar was like 3 bucks
I'm not crazy about the style, but I think you did a great job executing it. I've done some fondant cakes, and that is really good work you did. You should be very proud.
yea i agree im not into the lace and what i call traditional/goth look..i am pretty proud of it ..thanks..i know they are going to love it they are so into the style
I think it looks great! I actually like the lace, i think it's edgy and if your sis is going for a goth look, nails it in a classy way
All I have to say is WOW! Especially since you said it's the 2nd time you've done something like this. It's AWESOME! Great job!
For some reason this cake invokes 80s Madonna to me . . . maybe it's the crucifix . . . and the lace :-)
this is amazing! great job! i dont really like the necklace though. wow! you did such an amazing job! im shocked!
how'd you do the beads? are they fondant, too?
did you use marshmallow fondant or regular?
This is amazing. Now, is this the second WEDDING cake you've done or just the second cake in general? Because if this is your second cake and it's this good, consider leaving your day job and opening a bakery. It's fantastic!
Wow! That is amazing. Excellent work!!! What flavor is the cake??
@ejs4y8: thank you very much that was goal..nicely said!
@LadyGoodman:ya totally! i love it..i especially love that its one of a kind!
@Ms. Meowerson:the beads are fondant balls that i lightly wet and attached to make it look like pearl strands and the reason i did that is only bc the cardboard was showing..lol like i said..no clue what i was doing but it worked out...i used regular fondant that you get at michaels craft store
@MaggieGirl:this is my 1st wedding cake ever! i did a practice fondant cake for her shower that didnt go as well as a practice one so i knew what to avoid for the actual cake. ppl say i should open a bakery..but honestly i have no idea how to bake. that cake is duncan hines (shh dont tell anyone) but i love using fondant. but the work is grueling its like 8 hrs+ on you feet..but it would have been allot easier with all of the amenities that bakeries have ya know. i dont know..i think im obsessed with all things wedding! I work for a bridal shop selling samples online and ive marketed for a wedding planner..im like all over the place
Im going to upload pics of the shower cake i did and the baking process for the silly voters who dont believe i made this! lol i guess ill take it as a compliment
@baldor1:thank you so much, its red velvet..their colors are maroon and black, i though it was fitting :)
Love the black lace, but don't really like the necklace! I thought that maybe you could incorporate it into a topper? It's very pretty. I don't think I have the skills to make something like that. Looks like you might have a new career!
Oops! I voted "I don't believe you made it" but I really meant it in the "I can't believe you made that yourself! It's amazing!" kind of way. hehe I believed you all along. :)
That came out AMAZING! You did such a good job! I really like the lace too!
You did a fantastic job!
You should considering doing this on the side! Your cake is WAY better than some other so called pros I've seen!
@miss_qween_bee: i originally wanted to do some kind of cross as a topper and the chains draping but it was an epic FAIL! the cross topper was too heavy and i tried to decorate it..it looked awful!
@Gerbera: thanks! I wanted to do my own wedding cake but my finace wouldnt hear of it! i especially wanted to do it bc ill be damned if i pay 1k for something like this but diff style (which is what I was quoted by every bakery in ct) for my own wedding and not even be pleased with the cake.
Awesome! I am one of the ones who voted that I didn't believe you made it (I also voted Love it!) but please please please take it as a compliment! You did a really incredible job on this!
I love it! Amazing work for a first wedding cake. I would be too scared to try.
OH MY GOSH!! That is your second cake... ever?! You STUD-ETTE!! I am so TOTALLY impressed, I think it looks so professional and perfectly executed! What a lucky sister to have you, that takes so much talent, as well as bravery, I mean a wedding cake is a lot of pressure! It isn't my style... but I still love it and think you rock!
