My FI and I sometimes accidently dress alike, lol. For example, this morning we both ended up in dark purple tops (mine was a sweater, his was a long sleeve shirt) and black bottoms (mine was a skirt, his was pants). I just think it is funny how things work out. We don’t work together so it is ok that we dress alike, but from time-to-time we’re out in the city together and people do notice and comment, haha. I wonder if since I get up and get dressed first, FI finds it easier to pick out his clothes in the morning by just looking at what I wear. Who knows?

haha just one time and it was kind of hilarious because we didn’t realize it until we were already out. we didn’t live together then and he came to pick me up to look at wedding venues. He had his coat on when he got to my house and i threw my coat on and was out the door before he saw me. When we got to the potential wedding venue we took off our coats and saw that we were both wearing dark jeans with blue argyle sweaters. We laughed for about a minute– realized we looked ridiculous– and he offered to keep his coat on for the rest of the meeting before anyone saw us and thought we did it on purpose!

It doesn’t happen often as I like wearing bright colors and his is anything that looks like it’ll blend in the mountains or forest. However, we have matching climbing harnesses, cycling shorts, cycling shoes, AND matching road bikes! They’re all the same except mine are women’s specific and his men’s specific. It wasn’t planned at all, but it makes us feel silly sometimes!

accidentally dressing alike happens really often! he is the one who has to change, he knows I take longer to pick my outfits.
also, speaking of matching: he absolutely refuses to order the same food that I order at a restaurant. I’m like, “who cares? order what you want.” I think it’s funny.

It happens by accident a lot. Our casual staples are white/black t-shirts & jeans. So usually I’ll add something, or he’ll change his shirt. We’re not against it when it’s just t-shirts and jeans, but we would never actually dress matching on purpose. Ever.

depends on if we’re getting fancy or not. if we’re going to christmas mass, usually we’ll end up accidentally matching. more often than not, he gets upset with me if i wear my boat shoes when he’s wearing his, as thats about as matchy as we get when we’re just hanging out.

I’m with the others – never on purpose, but once or twice on accident! 🙂

A lot… But it’s always on accident! We are both jeans and a plain t-shirt kind of people, so it’s inevitable!

Haha- never on purpose. We ended up perfectly coordinating at a wedding we recently went to and everyone was commenting on how cool it was that we had tried so hard to match- lol.

@janie-janie – My FI is the same way about ordering the same food at the restaurant. I don’t care if we get the same thing, but he usually ends up changing his order 🙂

yep…it happens frequently, and it’s never on purpose! we usually don’t even notice until someone else points it out.

Not on purpose. Before we lived together, I had already starting buying his clothes, so I picked up this nice blue dress shirt from Express for him cause I loved the color. I loved it so much apprently I bought myself one the season before and we happen to wear it on the same day once… we got made fun of at work.

Yes, not meaning to tho 🙂

Never on purpose but every so often we’ll get dressed and then realize ut-oh one of us has to change. This could be because we’re wearing the same shirt (race shirts where we were on the same team) before going to the gym or a group run, or because we’ll both put on a solid color shirt (usually black) and jeans. We both think it’s too weird to go out in public looking the same so one of us is bound to put something else on.

I don’t think so! I’m a very ummm…adventurous dresser? So I doubt we will ever match except for colors.
