All the kids in our family are too old for Santa, until this year, but we are not seeing any of the little ones this Christmas. Which is sad.
YUP! At my parents house we both get gifts from Santa. I have my entire life and then when FI and I began dating, Santa somehow began delivering gifts to my parents' house for him. Lol. I really don't think I would have it any other way. It's a fun way to keep the spirit.
We're Jewish, so while santa came when I was very young b/c I was a good Jewish girl so I got one gift (really so I wouldn't know he didn't exist and ruin it for my friends), he stopped coming a very long time ago.
The "kids" still get to find the matzah on passover though, which is something that you're supposed to stop doing when you become an adult. So I have a feeling if we did santa, he would still come.
it seems around our house that once a kid is almost old enough to stop believing ... someone else has a kid and we keep santa around!
When I was growing up, Santa stopped around the time we found out he wasn't real. As for the DH's family, they still get gifts from his mom and from "Santa." I find it a little weird, maybe it's because when we were were growning up we didn't really get a lot of gifts. So there was no parents gifts AND santa gifts to open. It would have been all from santa and all from my parents. It's kinda sad admitting that, but oh well.
Even my grandmother still gets presents from "Santa" so its safe to say that I will continue to as well for a very. long. time. My family is kind of crazy about Christmas. It's alot to live up to, but I try!
My mom and aunt are pretty funny with the "From:_____". If the gift has meaning, they make it "From:____" something thats associated with the gift. I was big into theatre in high school so I often got gifts associated with the current play that I was in. Sophomore year was The Sound of Music so I got a pitch pipe from "Sister Berthe". The following year we were doing West Side Story and I got original sheet music from the Broadway production. That gift was from "Anita". A few years ago my mom found the original Nintendo NES with TONS of accessories on ebay for FI. That gift was from "Bowzer". I love the creativity!
@UpstateCait: I really like the idea of it being from someone associated with the gift.
I do still get one or two gifts from Santa. I don't imagine I will get one this year since we won't be with the family on Christmas day. SO's parents do not do Santa. In SO's stalking currently is a gift from Santa. I feel like the stocking is the epitome of Santa.:)
Um, yes! How else would the presents get in our stockings?!
No, I haven't done the whole Santa thing for a while now. I used to get gifts from Santa until I moved out of the house.
I have one present to my husband and me from santa and our stocking stuffers for each other are written from Santa!
Our stockings are from Santa and everyone in the household (including the cat!) gets one. All other gifts are from people. I like it that way.
Of course, if there are kids around, there are always a couple of gifts under the tree from Santa as well.
Haha - yes! Santa still comes. And all the 'kids' are still required to be in bed so Santa can deliver all his gifts and they won't be seen until Christmas morning. Some people think it gets a little old, but I love it. It makes Christmas morning such a surprise still!
I guess its also different, because my brother is still 16, so we've also kept it around for him for awhile...and now my sister is expecting. So I don't think Santa is ever going to disappear!
Our stockings are from santa (we aren't christian, but we do have a little one), and any kids under like 13 get a gift from santa (it is usually the one "toy" --we like to buy useful, or educational things, like clothes and books).
At my parents house things go WAY overboard, EVERYONE and their dog gets a stocking from santa and at least 2-3 gifts "from santa" (which are really just from my mom & dad). Also there is usually a "family" gift from santa too (like a fondue pot & then we all have fondue later etc).
Oh Santa makes his rounds here. Now that I have kids, Santa will be here alot but I find it really funny that Santa still comes for me and now Mr.Flipflops at my parents house. Stockings all come from Santa. Even Teddy, the family dog, gets a santa gift. =)
Oh yes! We still get presents from Santa and I love it! I hope it never stops!
i posted this before somewhere, but i'll humiliate myself again... umm, 30 years old here. yes, 30... and i still sneak over to my parents house one night in december to leave out milk and cookies.
my dad santa adores it.
go ahead. judge.

My family can go a little overboard on the tradition front so everyone who is a "kid" still gets presents from Santa even if they are in their mid-late twenties. I don't get any presents from my parents, only from "Santa." Granted, we do have my elementary aged cousins there Christmas morning, but I'm wondering when I'll stop getting visits from the man in red. Is it just my family or is there anyone else out there?
