We put several “dream” items on our registry – A ninja blender, memory foam pillows, and a king sized coverlette (each item was about $150 on average) and we got all 4 of them! I was soooo shocked! I honestly put them on there so I could go buy them after the wedding when I got the extra % off for “finishing off” my registry and buying things that had not been purchased.

I will be shocked if we get the vacuum. It’s about $350, and we are fine with paying for it, of we don’t get it but it would be so nice to get it.

@Jacquelinesc84:  Ahh I see. DH and I upgraded from our hand-me-down college apartment living stuff when we got married. We’d been using it in our house for several years after being out of college and just never went out to buy replacements, the wedding was a good excuse for me to buy myself upgrades for things we needed.

I also checked our registry a lot! Moving stinks, but at least you’ll have a head start making the list of things you’ll still need to get once you can get them. BTW, even if you don’t get the Kitchen Aid Mixer, definitely buy one for yourself. It is one of my favorite household items (it was a bridal shower gift and an off-registry purchase, but I am so thankful for it) and makes a lot of kitchen tasks a breeze! I got a lot of attachments for it too over the years, like a juicer, and let me say this, love doesn’t come close to my feelings for this machine. It’s awesome.

FH’s $500 blender. We have a perfectly good blender at home, I don’t know why he needs this one!

I’d also have a kitchenaid mixer on there, but he got one for me for our anniversary last year (which he has primarily benefited from, given that it means I can bake more 😛 )

I didn’t register for anything that I didn’t need or really want.  But yeah there were things on there I didn’t expect to really receive.  I still went out and purchased it after the wedding though.

I put china on mine after the wedding for the discount, since I didn’t expect anyone to buy any for me and because I preferred the other stuff first.

I had a Kitchen Aid on mine but my mother got it for me for my shower so I removed it.  My All-Clad set was on there, but I ended up buying it myself afterwards since I figured no one would get it (and no one did).  But I was going to buy it anyway.  I got 20% off though and used some gift cards/cash to buy it.

@kes18:  +1 to getting Kitchen Aid for bridal shower gifts.

Also, not to thread jack, but do you know if All-Clad is cooktop safe? I got some BBnB gift cards for Christmas and I was thinking of putting them towards All-Clad purchases, but no one at the store knew if they were cooktop safe. I’m use to cooking with a gas stove, so adjusting to cooktops is just the pits.

@LynnSnow:  What kind of cooktop are you using?  Most people use gas, electric coil, electric smoothtop, or induction.  I guess it doesn’t matter, All-Clad works with all of them.

@kes18:  Electric smoothtop. And thanks for the answer! 🙂

We have a few items on our. A VitaMix, a nice vacuum, Nespresso machine, luggage. We really don’t expect to get these things either, I mainly added them so we could get a discount on them after the wedding.

@Jacquelinesc84:  our dream item is a roomba! We added it because we know no one will buy it, but we can use the after wedding discount and some wedding cash to buy it. We’re moving into our first apartment and I think a roomba would be perfect at cleaning the carpets inbetween vaccuum days.

@BeeNumberBea:  is your FI’s dream item a Vitamix? That’s my dream too! It’s pricey but holy amazeballs they are so awesome. It kicks the pants off of any blender or food processor that I’ve ever seen. I love cooking with friends who have Vitamixes in their kitchens!
