I don't know if it is the best of them, but I was in 1st grade when The Little Mermaid came out, after decades with no classic animated Disney film, and it seriously dominated my life for years. There is just no way to describe how much I LOVED that movie as a little girl. I even remember I went on a mermaid diet for about a week, my mom prepared seaweed for me (we lived on an Air Force base, plenty of Japanese and Korean spouses, so it was available). That was sweet of her.
My fave is Beauty and the Beast...i also love their enchanted Christmas version too.
Why oh why can't they make any more of the great classic Disney movies anymore?
Seems like Pixar and Dreamworks is taking over animation. Not that I mind too much since I loved Toy Story
Bed-knobs and Broomsticks is the best!
Hands down Alice in Wonderland!! i was a huge freak about it and had an "alice" dress that my grandma made with an apron. When i heard the remake was coming out i was so stoked!
Then sleeping beauty!!! i loved that movie to bits. Then the Little Mermaid.. me and my sis would sing the songs while watching it. ahhhwww..good times :)
I love so so many! I am a *huge* Disney fan!!!!
I would say my favorite from that list is Little Mermaid!!
@msashleymarie and @bella I used to play the little mermaid in the pool too! I always crossed my ankles and we would pretend the lounge rafts were "islands" ;) I also had little mermaid barbies, one with a green tail and one with a glittery one! I also had little mermaid sheets...
<3 it!
the sheets were like these except flannel! haha
@WendyS328- not yet!! i wanted to see it this weekend but i'm afraid the NCAA tournament took priority :D
i've heard its a visual treat! can't wait. Have you seen it? whats your take on it?
Alice in Wonderland!!!! It was always my absolute favorite! After that, Sleeping Beauty!
Beauty and the Beast, hands down. I actually just watched it today. I also really love Aladdin, The Lion King and Mulan. I don't dislike any, but I haven't really watched Sleeping Beauty in forever, and don't remember it being as engaging as others.
I voted The Lion King because I dragged my parents to see it more times than I can remember (I even made them go when tickets sold out and we had to stand in the back for the whole three hours or whatever), and I had a million types of Lion King toys, sheets, clothes, even a pencil sharpener (I remember that for Christmas 1994 the gift on the top of my wish list was a Lion King electric pencil sharpener...and all the other kids though I was nuts. I just thought electric pencil sharpeners were cool, and I thought Lion King was cool, so it would make the perfect combo...alas, my parents couldn't find one :( ). But I also LOVED 101 Dalmatians. I had stuffed animals of Pongo, Perdita, and all the puppies, and would take them on EVERY car ride with me wherever I went and would go so far as to buckle them up with set belts. I would take my favorite two or three into the store or restaurant with me too! God I was a crazy kid. Anyone who looked into the backseat of the car and saw like twenty stuffed dalmatians fastened in with seat belts surely would have assumed the owner was insane.
And about kiddie leashes: I was SO devastated when I heard those were outlawed in my state! My parents used one for me and I was often attached to a leash for school field trips. They're a good idea! Kids run everywhere and can be SO BAD in public, seriously, as a waitress I wanted to leash 3/4 of the kids that came into the restaurant. And I also watched all sorts of "bad" stuff as a kid, and I think I turned out okay! Children are so coddled these days...
Finding Nemo is my favorite. I've seen it probably 15 times and I STILL crack up at practically everything Dori says.
I was never quite a "Princess" kind of girl, but gosh I've always been in LOVE with Cinderella!
I know it's not Disney, but my fav hands-down were all the Land Before Time movies. I seriously loved them! I guess it helped that I was named after one of the characters. I picked 101 Dalmations, though because it was a close second...I still have all of these movies on VHS lol
I own them all (thanks mom!!), and would say Lady & the Tramp is prolly my fav. Cinderellla, Aladdin and The Little Mermaid are also contenders depending on the day of the week. All the rest come in a very VERY close second!
