Over the weekend, I bought a bag of Skittles. I’ve been eating them at my desk at work, and when I grab a handful, I put them on a tissue, and divide them out by colour. I then eat the flavours I like least until I only have the desirable flavours left. This made me think that I’ve NEVER eaten a handful of Skittles. I always divvy them up into flavour group and eat them so I only have grapes and strawberries left over (because they’re THE BEST).
Is anyone else OCD about their snacks?

When I was younger my mom would buy me those big boxes of Nerds and I would seperate them into the colors and eat them by my least favorites first. I do this with pretty much everything. I won’t eat the yellow and orange Starburst though. They are nasty.

@Birdee106: I totally agree with you – I hate banana flavoured candy. All yellow candy (yes, I’m lumping lemon in too) should go away.

Mmmm.. I like to keep m&ms in my mouth until the candy gets off, then enjoy the chocolate part slooowly until it melts. I wish I had some right now.

I do the same thing with my skittles! My fiance eats them by the handful – he says they all taste the same, which they most certainly do not!!

@mgol25: Same here!
I separate colored candy by color and then eat them from least favorite to favorite.

This is going to sound bonkers but I eat (even snack sized!) Mars Bars in little tiny slices. Cut with a knife!

With Lucky Charms, I eat all the oat pieces first, then I get to enjoy mouthfuls of the glorious sugary marshmallows.

If I go get pretzels (or crackers or cookies) out of a bag then it has to be an even number. I can’t put one back to get an even number, I have to take another out. I also eat candy from least favorite flavor to most favorite.

@mgol25: very OCD. my FI makes fun of me all the time. i divide my Skittles, too. i also eat my Reese’s cups chocolate first (I peel it off with my teeth) then peanut butter last. he thinks i’m crazy. haha

I used to do the same thing with my Skittles, only my sister started making fun of me… so I’d take them out when she wasn’t looking and put them back in the bag in color order. Color order happens to be the yummy order for me – red at the bottom (best for last)!
I rarely buy Skittles anymore… a bag will last me a month, it’s too much sugar to handle!
If I have a snack for myself, no one can eat it. My mom loves to come up and steal a cracker or a grape from my pile and it throws me off so much. I have to get another one to even out the number (BTW, I actually have OCD).
Obviously I failed “sharing” in preschool.

@Steampunkbride: My cousin LOVES Oh Henry!s, and she eats everything except the fudge. The chocolate, the peanuts, the caramel, everything. Then she eats the fudge last. For some reason, your Mars story reminded me of this!

I don’t eat too many snacks, but I disassemble my hamburgers. I remove the top bun, lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, pickles, and whatever other items are on it, and then I put it back together again. No, this is not to remove items I don’t want. I keep everything but I feel this necessity to put it together myself.

I’m like this with EVERYTHING I eat. Always save the best for last. I always have. My husband, like everyone else that sees me eat, was shocked and a bit uneasy when he watched me eat pizza rolls for the first time. I push out all the insides into a pile and pile up the crust things and eat the crust things first than the insides last with a fork. I do the same thing with frozen pizza, my husband knows now to give me a fork with my frozen pizza. I’ve always been like that, not sure why or when it started
