her left leg (the one on the right when you’re looking at her) is totally photoshopped. Just look at the color of her pants, leg, and the angle of the shoe on the ground.

or at least that’s what it looks like to me. But then again I guess it could be a trick of the light.

No, I think it really is the sun!  Look at the way it’s hitting her skin on her ankle and also how you can see the actual black along the very bottom of the shoe.  It’s like a weird camera flash thing almost.

It took me a minute to see it, but that’s totally what it is.

it looks photoshopped to me. it looks like they tried to hide it by putting some sunlight on it, but her whole body is in the shade and the angle of the foot just doesn’t make sense. the color of her pant leg is different too

but again, I could be wrong. i wouldn’t put it past the tabloids to make shit up though

ugh it looks like it could be the sun… but what doesn’t make sense to me is the way her leg looks when it’s only the shoe and a tiny bit of her ankle in the sun…

either way talk about foot in mouth for People.

It must be photoshopped because there is no way it’s a “trick of the sun”! By comparing our the laces are laying and the design on the shoe, it is the same shoe, someone most likely photoshopped it to make it look like a white shoe.  The sun is not going to make a black shoe, white, and will definitely not make the underside of her shoe white…

The one with the mis-matched shoes is definitely photoshopped!

It actually does not look photoshopped to me. It looks like one leg was stepping out into bright mid-day sun, which is a totally different exposure for the camera and thus looks washed out. I do a lot of photography on the side, and this is what it looks like when something is partially in the sun and something else isn’t, when you aren’t using flash fill.

This is why your photogs don’t like taking wedding pictures in the middle of the day!

If it were photoshop, it would be a pretty craptastic photoshop job. To me, it looks like a black shoe that’s being hit by sunlight. It’s what I thought when I opened the thread before I even read the OP or scrolled down. I don’t really see what people are saying about her leg, either. It just looks like she’s stepping out of the shade.

Definitely the sun playing tricks! THe entire leg is washed out because she’s just stepped into the bright sun. As PP has said, you can see the black along the bottom of the shoe where it’s slightly more shaded.

I originally thought that it was definitely the sun…. but how does the sun shine on the BOTTOM of her shoe?  Unless she just walked through powder or mud… or the sun is shining from the ground… then I think that someone tried to edited it.

Why would anyone do this terrible of a job photoshopping when they work for a national publication?

She’s moving from shadow into sunlight, and her legs are in different positions and in different lighting environments. Why would anyone expect them to look the same in terms of color or perspective? Bright sunlight is much more drastically different from shadow than most people realize, and this is clearly what’s going on.

As an example of how different colors can look in different lighting, has anyone seen a slideshow projected on a standard white screen lately? Did you realize that the “black” colors on the projected image are actually the white screen without any additional light? In that context, the white screen looks black, but in another contaxt it’s clearly white.
