Though I currently live in NYC (where a lot of movies are obviously filmed), I’m currently watching The Lost Boys, which is filmed in the city where I went to college (Santa Cruz, CA). It’s funny watching a movie that took place in a city I feel like I know so well. (And though NYC is so prevalent in TV/movies, I do feel like it’s still cool to recognize parts of the city).
So have any movies or TV shows been filmed in your area? 🙂

Fiance was living right upstairs from where a scene in The Town was filmed. We walked by and and saw Ben Affleck directing a scene.

Creature From The Black Lagoon & Jeepers Creepers were both filmed where I live. We apparently have a thing for the creepy.

One part of The Crazies was filmed in my friend’s car war (Fountain Carwash) in Macon, GA where I used to live. 🙂

- Wedding: January 2011 - Vintage Villas
I’m from Austin, so quite a few movies are filmed there, but in the actual part of Austin that I’m from, which is north of the city itself, is the cemetery where they filmed the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre! It’s actually right down the street from my sister’s house 🙂

I live in Hollywood……
haha yeah so tons of stuff is filmed right around the corner. But more awesome than that, my high school is constantly used for filming so it’s fun spotting in in movies and tv shows all the time.

Well. In The Heat of the Night and Dukes of Hazzard (tv shows). Parts of: My Cousin Vinny, Remember the Titans, Friday the 13th (longer title?), The Family That Preys, Halloween II. And right now, The Vampire Diaries the tv show is filmed all over the place. Lots of my friends have been extras.
According to wikipedia we are “the Hollywood of the South.” Uh. Ok?

These are the ones I know of that have scenes shot very close to where I lived. Humboldt County (the movie), Outbreak, Jennifer Eight, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the documentary film Where You From, and the TV movie Salem’s Lot.

My hometown is Downingtown, PA. The movie ‘The Blob’ was filmed there. I’m 10 minutes from West Chester, PA and the some parts of ‘Marley and Me’ were filmed there. Specifically the beginning when they are running through the town in the snow.

The latest was Up In The Air with George Clooney. Also, Meet Me in St Louis, parts of Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Escape from New York was in East St Louis, and Silence of the Lambs used Lambert Airport.

There is a new comedy out called “Cedar Rapids” and I just happen to be from Cedar Rapids… However, the film was made in Ann Arbor, not Cedar Rapids.

Ha ha. I too am a New Yorker. I think it might be ‘What movies AREN’T filmed here?’ It’s gotten to the point where Will Smith would be on the next corner and I won’t even cross the street to go view (I am Legend) or Robert De Niro doing something near my school back in the day. Or Al Pacino or Adam Sandler near my house…. I will miss it one day though 🙁

My hometown is Louisville, Ky and Secretariat, some of Stripes, and The Insider were all filmed here. I tried out to be an extra for Secretariat- didn’t make it though. Also, in the movie Elizabethtown (which is about 20 min north of Louisville) they drive through downtown Louisville. It’s kinda funny becuse the route they take in the movie will take you no where near Elizabethtown.
