    OK, don't say your baby, because well, that's sort of the point of pregnancy.

    But what do you miss doing, or what can't you wait to be done doing?

    For me, I am planning on breastfeeding (or at least giving it a try) so my caffeine and alcohol limitations are going to be extended awhile. And I am looking forward to not being uncomfortable, but from what I can tell, what I'm going through now might be a picnic compared to how I'll feel immediately after giving birth.

    So, I thought of something else I'm super stoked about- tossing my godawful maternity dress pants. I am already counting down the days. I am due in 16 days, but only 8 of those I will have to dress up for work (Mon-Thur next week and the week after). I rotate between three pairs and I'm not only sick of them, but they don't even reach my ankles anymore and the material sucks. My SIL is pregnant now so these clothes are going back to her. If I can't fit in my old pants before I go back to work I'll just have to suck it up and buy new ones, but I am done with these in 2 weeks!

    Well, if it can't be baby related then I will have to say a cup of coffee, a glass of ice cold coca cola from a can and all the sashimi I can eat!!!!

    @Tatum:

    You're getting close! I'm jealous that you have someone to swap maternity clothes with. I have no one! :(

    I know what I was most happy about post-partum: being able to move and having energy to do so!  I kept overdoing it once we got home from the hospital because I was so excited to be able to do things for myself again.  I got my own glass of water because if I was thirsty I could just jump up and get it, I vacuumed the house, I could bend!  It was the most glorious thing.

    @Pelikila:  This!

    I remember after having my babies how wonderful it felt to be able to move around. For me at least, the soreness after delivery, even after a c-section, was much less discomfort than being nine months pregnant and having sciatica.  The other thing I remember being wonderful was being able to sleep on my stomach again.

    I packed all of my maternity clothes away as soon as I came from the hospital. I didn't eve want to look at them! I was so excited to be able to put on socks by myself and to sleep on my stomach, and to be (eventually) able to walk like a normal person. The first few days after delivery are tough-but nothing compared to 9 months of carrying a baby!

    Cookie dough and a shake! I love baking and would always sneak in a few bites of cookie dough, I miss it so much! I'm due in December and I told my husband that we are stopping by a McDonald's on the way home from the hospital so I can have an eggnog shake - Sounds SO good!

    @Tisty1982: Oh yeah, cookie dough!  I always would sneak a few bites here and there, but not now.  And even if I was tempted, DH watches me like a hawk, because he's seen me at my cookie-dough eating worst.

    Beer.  I wanted beer so bad in my last trimester; it was my only request on our first post-baby shopping trip.

    @regberadaisy:

    Yeah, that is pretty handy sharing clothes with her. And actually, she loaned them to another girl first, and when the girl returned them, she added her own clothes as well. I got a huge bag, but I only really used the maternity dress pants, nothing else. There were some cute shorts in there, but everything else wasn't really my style (lots of those smock type tops and mostly sleeveless shirts, which I didn't think were appropriate for work). Still, it was better than starting from scratch. I am super excited to give them back to her though.

    I'm going to Jimmy Johns on the way home- and I'm eating it right away, not sticking it in the microwave!

    SLEEPING!  I know that won't happen though!

    Our anniversary is 10/20 due 10/9 I want so badly to go Carlton (Wine Country in Oregon) and go tasting with hubby.

    It'd be nice to be able to reach things on my own too.

    I've just started the pregnancy journey and I already miss beer. My wonderful husband just ordered a 1/6 barrel of Orange Blossom Pilsner for the kegerator and I am so sad. :(

    A crunchy spicy tuna roll.  And a tuna salad sandwich.  Oooh - and sleeping on my stomach again!

    Ha - and for the nausea to permanently go away so that food seems appealing again!

    Being able to plan my meals ahead of time. My cravings and eating habits are so unpredictable right now. I can't wait to be 100% free of morning sickness. I also can't want to go back to the gym and do my usual workout.

    Sleeping on my stomach!!!

    I have the hardest time sleeping because I was always a tummy-sleeper. Now I can't sleep on my tummy or even my back because I am so far along. I can't WAIT to not have to sleep on my side. I think once I am not pregnant I will NEVER sleep on my side again!!!!  hahaha!

    • Sleeping on my stomach! Lounging around (watching TV, checking email) propped up on my elbows on my stomach!
    • All of my cute shoes. My feet are swollen, and I have an impressive collection of flats that I am looking forward to getting back to. The only things in rotation now are flip flops and some black work flats from Payless that I bought a size up (that are even now just a smidge tight)
    • My actual clothes. I am so sick of just washing and wearing the same outfits over and over and with less than 3 weeks left I'm not buying anything new!
    • Having real sex Embarassed my fav positions have just not been working lately - sorry if TMI!

    Caffeine is okay, in limited amounts (although some pregnant people prefer to avoid entirely) but the problem with diet coke isn't just the caffeine, it's also the aspartame and other chemicals. My doctor cleared me to have two a day, but some choose not to have it at all during pregnancy. As for cookie dough, I'd imagine the problem is with the uncooked egg- could have bacteria harmful for baby. In fact, I think raw cookie dough isn't advised even for non pregnant people.
