this time of year, he loves to BBQ – so, prob peppercorn steak with sweet potatoes, bell peppers, and pineapple slices with maple syrup

In the colder months, he loves a rosemary, garlic roast that I make with potatoes and sweet carrots.  (And pie for dessert of course)

The man loves comfort food, what can I say haha

DH is a chef and does most of the cooking (when he’s home, that is), so unfortunately I don’t think my abilities are as up to par with his. He has never complained about anything I have made, but our DD’s favourite dish is my Taco Chicken Bake. Basically you just throw all the ingredients (rice, corn, beans, salsa, taco seasoning, chicken broth, etc.) into a casserole dish and bake until cooked. No brainer, and so delicious!

crackktheskyy:  We JUST played a newlyweds trivia game for a date night, so I can totally answer this question!  He loooooves my carbonara.  The trick is not to scramble the egg, don’t add much cheese, al dente pasta, cast iron, and SAVE the grease from meat — you’ll use it in the pasta.

brighteyedgirl:  Taco chicken bake sounds awesome! And luky you to have a chef spouse.  🙂

crackktheskyy:  Carbonara’s even better Day 2, FYI.  And if you’re interested in making up you own newlywed trivia, DatingDivas has a great template. Great thread!

DH’s favorite meal is spaghetti and meatballs.  i once made him the healthy version of turkey meatballs and spaghetti sqaush.

DH is the cook in our family. but every now and then i cook as well.  the last really great thing i made was chicken fesenjan, a persian recipe with pomegranate and walnuts.  i also hosted an israeli and italian themed dinner parties (of course not at the same time)

crackktheskyy:  LOL, it’s funny you mention Taco Tuesdays, because DD has tried to get me/us to make that a weekly thing… maybe, just maybe we’ll do it (she loves leftovers for school lunches, so that helps, too). As for my favourite dish that DH makes… geez, that’s tough! His caesar salad (homemade dressing, croutons, etc.) is pretty good, but the past couple of Christmas Eves he’s done mushroom risotto with seared duck breasts in a wildberry glaze. OMG! I’m so glad that’s a new tradition in our household. ;]

aekc:  I’m lucky in the fact that we eat pretty well, but unfortunately his schedule is a bit out-of-whack, and I get stuck cooking most of the time. Plus, I tend to gain weight when he’s around. LOL!

crackktheskyy:  Haha, come on over! Just make sure you’re on time, or I can’t guarantee there will be some left for you. ;] And, oh my word, thanks for making me feel inadequate in the cooking dept., even more than I already was–kudos to you on the risotto and lamb! I’m definitely not that adventurous, because I’d definitely mess up and disappoint DH, lol.

FI really enjoys cooking, so I usually leave the meals to him. I like to make desserts though. He really likes the Thai mangoes and sticky rice, so I make that for him from time to time.
