Having both of our families at our house and celebrating all together! The laughter, chatter, and excitement being shared by two families who get along wonderfully is gift enough for me!!!
I got an eagles jersey with my favorite # and my future last name on it.
I love the eagles! So excited to wear it. (Just because I like the eagles does not at all mean that I that Vick is not a scum of a person.)
@BanditGirl: that is really great! I would be soooo happy with that gift.
actually being treated like a normal human being...going to xmas dinner without any snarky comments about my religion from the DH's extended family. I was dreading xmas this year (mentally prepped myself for a huge fight) and it turned out to be way nicer than I expected.
The best was having some of FI's family come to my family Christmas dinner. Some of them haven't met yet. My mom passed away right after we got engaged so it was a big deal for me!
The second best was my new laptop from FI. I sooooo needed a new one!
My daughters had a portrait painted of my Mom for me from an old picture of her. She's been gone for 6 years now and it feels like just yesterday we said goodbye to her.
I loved their thoughtfulness. :)
Sapphire earrings from my FI--they aren't huge and are just set in sterling silver, but I love that he's been listening and trying to figure out my taste in jewelry (we picked out my e-ring together).
And a fun one--a Nook Color from my parents! I think FI is more excited about it than me. :-P
From a materialistic standpoint, I'm a big fan of the new iPad I'm using to post this. Otherwise, I'm quite happy to be spending Christmas with family for the first time in 5 years - my husband hadn't met any of my family prior to our wedding, so it's awesome to get to see him interact with my sister and her husband and kids for an entire week.
Mine is lame compared to all of yours but this year my sister got me a gift card to Bed Bath & Beyond and I bought myself servingware (platters, serving flatware, etc.) and a roasting rack. It is my way of nesting. :)
During my "single days" when I entertained folks at my place I always just used a tablespoon as my serving spoon and a dinner plate to serve food in. Never mind the roasting rack which I had no idea how to use up until this weekend. Since the engagement, I now think of family dinners and entertaining. It helps that my fiance' and I are also house-hunting.
My parents got me a GPS! I'm totally excited because I get lost constantly. I have the worst sense of direction - but hopefully I won't be lost anymore!
My mom also got me a Cuttlebug which was a super surprise and super exciting. I swear, I couldn't scrapbook without one ;-).
@msgiraffe: I love my GPS, I even programmed it to tell me where all the Dairy Queens are between my house in NE to my moms house in MN. I can actually get around Minneapolis without getting lost or stuck in traffic.
my new vera bradley bag for school, matching wallet and it came with a free tote bag! yay
Having DH home for once, and reading to him all day while he looked like he was falling asleep. Reading out loud to one another (I call it "book club," it started in college when my friends and I used to get st*#$& and take turns reading to each other in a little cabin in the mountains) is one of my favorite things to do. It is so rare to have DH home! But this time I baked cookies, we no longer cook our brains :)
And, DH gave me two of my favorite albums and we danced together :) It was a complete surprise because we weren't doing presents this year. He even wrapped them- even though we didn't have any wrapping paper. He designed it in Illustrator and printed it out :) It was a really sweet surprise.
Then went and played fetch with my dog :) We did not have any water because the water main BROKE at our apartments- get this- again! The same thing happened at Thanksgiving (ironically!). I could not believe it on Christmas eve when I saw the manager out there with a shovel. We had no water from 3 on Christmas eve until 3 on Christmas day. It is amazing what a difference it makes! We didn't want to cook our turkey without any water do to the dishes. It was one of those Christmases were you just make the best of what you have. And it was my favorite Christmas yet :)
Honestly, my fave gift was the gift of giving... I know it sounds super cheesy, but I've been planning christmas for my niece's & nephew for months, and the reaction I got was absolutely the BEST!!!
I actually have 3 favorites...
First, my pink acoustic guitar from FI! I was so freakin' excited when I opened it! *Don't mind our messy living room*

Next, swarovski earrings from my parents for my wedding day...

And finally, a 6 piece luggage set from my Aunt and Uncle for our honeymoon...

I'm a lucky girl!
My wedding is my main present this year, which is totally fine with me.
BUT... FI and his sister got me cupcake decorating books!! There are two different ones and I am SO excited to make fun cupcakes!
@MzMarzipan- congratulations! That is awesome!
I got fleece adult footy pajamas, as a joke gift and I am obsessed with them. So excited to ride out this blizzard in them!!!
My dad took me on a mini-shopping spree at Sephora, and I got all new Make Up For Ever cosmetics. I love it all, the eyeliner and the HD Primer especially.
I got so many favorite things!!!
From my FI:

and
From my FMIL:
Kitchenaid Professional 600-S!!

@littlecat: ahh! I'm so jealous! I totally want a pair of footie pajamas. And I want DH to get a matching pair :D But he said no.
@MzMarzipan: Congrats! I bet that will be the best Christmas gift ever!!
I got a few little things. I was particularly excited for the Christmas Classics set of DVDs I got from my brother :)
Well I love my pink iPod nano (my iPhone was getting too bulky to run with):

But I think my favorite gift was the one I bought for my SO and I, the Kinect!:

Aside from my E Ring :) My mother got me a beautiful pearl necklace with matching earrings. I also got a great pair of tall black boots which I really wanted.
Mine's a toss up between a Snuggie from my parents or a crock pot from his :o).
A DIY wall clock with a photo of FI and me from my sister, and Stuart Weitzman boots from FI

My honey gave me, or rather us, a romantic trip away to wine country. We will go in the spring.
My FI knows I love experiences together way more than material gifts... and although he went WAY over our $50 budget for this Christmas, finding out he got us tickets to go see my favorite band of all time (Linkin Park) completely made my Christmas. :)
Xbox Kinect with the Dance Central game! It's sooo much fun and such a workout!!

I had an AWESOME christmas with my fam and FI's fam! My gifts included a Kindle, Droid X and two watches(haha woops on the communication). But my favorite gifts were 4 shirts that Teddy picked out for me from H&M. We dont have an H&M anywhere near where we live and he went on a business trip and picked out some really cute stuff for me. It was thoughtful and he has great taste!
