My first impression of my now fiance was that he had a funny last name. It is ironic now, since that will be my last name soon. We met on the first day of 7th grade and we were in the same homeroom. Both of our last names start with A so my name was called first for attendance, followed by his. I remember giggling a little bit (I was only 12) when I heard the teacher call his last name because it sounded a little like a type of food (the teacher mispronounced his last name). Then I saw who it was with that last name when he raised his and I didn’t really think too much of him. We became friends throughout the year when we had lockers next to each other and a few classes together.

I hated him!
We met at our job waiting tables about six years back. He had a serious girlfriend at the time, and I had a serious boyfriend. He was always really quiet (which is SOOO not him) and I always thought he looked pissed (I say it’s because of his “angry eyebrows”). Then, one day, he called me “Woman” thinking it was a cute way of flirting. I did not agree.
Fast forward a couple years later when we both are single…
I’m drinking red wine with a fellow coworker of now-FI and mine. She says, “You know who I would totally date if I was single?…. [enter my fiance’s name here].” I looked at her, disgusted, and said, “WHY?!” She rambled on a list of reasons and I (drunkenly) phoned him.
We went out later that evening and ended up staying up until 11am the next day talking.
Now I couldn’t be happier!

I just saw him and thought WOW WHAT A STUD. My matchmaker-type friend actually pointed him out to me in a ski lodge, and got a booth for us next to his friends.

My Dh is best friends with a friend’s husband and she owned a bar, the second he walked in I went to her and asked who he was. So my first impression was “HOT”

@rel318: “Hmm, Sue has a nice hot boyfriend”
Eventually “Sue” broke up with him, and after many months of flirting he eventually asked me out 🙂

- Wedding: August 2013 - Rosehill Community Center
Online I thought he looked really cool, like way too cool for me. When I met him in person, I was surprised that he looked nerdier than his pictures online, but he was still super cute, and super skinny! He was, and is, adorable but also hot, both at once…

- Wedding: April 2013 - A court...
I thought he was quiet. His friend was trying to talk to me (I was new at work) and he was just there yet looking around. Then I asked him a couple of questions work related and noticed he had colour contacts lol. Then when I got to know him I though he was really hyper.

I thought, he’s obviously a good looking guy but not really my type. He reminded me of Bradley Cooper and I usually go for the dark, brooding type. He was very nice and didn’t try to get in my pants, which I found odd lol this guy was legitimately trying to get to know me! Shocker!

- Wedding: April 2013 - Valparaiso, IN
We were both in seperate relationships when we met, and were introduced by the youth pastor when my family started attending his church. The youth pastor told me not to give him my number because he would try calling me in the middle of service to make sure my phone was off. My initial thought was, “But I really REALLY want to give him my number…oh wait I have a boyfriend…”

Hahahaha, okay, not FIRST impression, but I thought my FI was a drug dealer in the first couple of months that I knew him!
Backstory is that we met at an Open House for the master’s program that we both ended up attending. We kept in touch all summer before the program started and did some light flirting.
For some insane reason, my flirting basically consisted of me telling him how much I love drinking. (Lol, I don’t know.) That made him think that I was a huge party girl, so he asked me if I smoked pot. I told him no, but because of my previous crazy comments about drinking, he sort of didn’t believe me. So all summer he kept telling me about how he had “weed contacts” in the town we were going to move to and he could totally set me up with “a guy.”
So I totally thought that he was talking about HIMSELF and that he was a drug dealer.
It is a miracle that we started dating!! And for the record, neither of us smokes anything, lol.
