After spending the majority of my day cleaning house, I am absolutely exhausted and cursing a variety of household tasks.  Usually I like to clean but there are just certain chores that I absolutely can't stand!  I'm sure I can't be the only one so I thought I'd just throw a random poll out there to see what chores others absolutely hate to do!

For me, (today anyway) my least favourite chore is mopping the floor - bloody awful task as our tile is a matte tile, not the glossy tile that's relatively easy to clean.  Blah, I'm over it!   FI should be home from work pretty soon and if he doesn't notice the newly cleaned floor straightaway, he will be sure to hear about it!  ;-)

So go ahead and vote and feel free to leave any random vents about household chores you despise!  And also feel free to add any others - I'm tired now so probably forgot a few major chores!

Oooh, dishes, I HATE them. I'll do laundry all day as long as the Mr. takes care of the dishes. I would even be THRILLED with a dishwasher, but I don't ever want to stand in front of a sink if I don't have to. I get so bored and feel isolated just staring at the wall or out the window.

All of the above.  haha!  Ok, well if I had to choose, it would have to be the dishes.

I hate ALLLLL of them. The dishes used to be my least favorite, until I finally came to live with a dishwasher. Now I don't mind so much.

I hate, hate HATE cleaning the bathrooms. Especially the showers for some reason. Drives me insane.

I loathe laundry. It's just repetative and loud and awful and IT NEVER ENDS! First you have to sort it, then wash it, then hang it out or use a dryer and then you have an entire other load!! OMG!!

    I actually like dishes. :)

PSH... loading and unloading a dishwasher is soooo not equal to actually washing the dishes!! Haha! This is coming from someone who has been without a dishwasher for, oh, all but I think one year of my adult life. Washing silverware by hand is the worst of the worst, for me. Every. stupid. little. knife and fork and spoon... ughh!! My misery will be over soon though when we move to our new house, thank you GOD. And then the top contender for worst chore will be...hmm, probably toilet cleaning I guess!

when it comes to these chores, we are pretty traditional. I almost always am the one doing the dishes, and the laundry. He does like to dust and vacuum, so I am very happy to let him do that. He takes out the garbage every day, and anything yard/car related he takes care of. My one chore I loathe, is cleaning the cat box. But I love my kitties, so I do it. He will do it from time to time, but mainly it is my job. He does feed and water the cats when he gets up first thing in the morning, so that is one less chore I have to worry about. Sometimes, I will hear him in the kitchen talking to the cats in the morning and that always makes me laugh.

I don't even touch the trash, that's DH's job. I voted for moping, sweeping and vacuuming. I HATE it, but I'll do it (though hubby's usually the one that ends up doing it when we're expecting company). He hates doing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen, which I don't mind so much so it's a nice trade-off for us.

It's a toss-up as to which I hate more.....taking out the garbage or laundry. I hate both! I do laundry MAYBE once a month. I'm sure this will change when I move in with FH next week. As long as he takes the garbage out I think I can survive.

I have a secret. I like to clean.

With that being said, I do have chores I do not like. I'll take the trash out (even though I'm sexist and think it's a man's job because it's dirty!) but I hate the whole taking-the-bag-out-of-the-can-and-tying-it part. Bringing it to the dumpster? No biggie at all.

I don't mind washing dishes, as long as it's only bigger items, like pots and pans that are just a waste of space, water, and soap in the dishwasher. I can see the tv from the kitchen, or I'll just put music on and jam. I am VERY grateful for my dishwasher when it comes to tedious repetitive things like plates, bowls, cups, and silverware. Don't miss washing those by hand my entire childhood.

Cleaning on, in, or around toilets. I'll clean the entire bathroom everything, as long as I can leave a two foot radius around the toilet that he'll clean. (ha, yeah right)

I actually enjoy cleaning for the most part. But I HATE laundry. I hate the folding and putting the clothes away. I can't stand it. Dusting sucks too but I feel like I don't do that as often (oops lol)

Cleaning the bathroom BY FAR. I let it go wayyy too long in between cleanings of the tub because I just HATE doing it. I actually don't mind doing dishes (we have a dishwasher, thank goodness), and I actually like doing laundry--I find it relaxing! Unfortunately, we have to send our out due to not having laundry in our building :(

I hate cleaning the bathroom, hate it! The smell of the cleaning supplies gets to me, it's gross and my back hurts usually from scrubbing the tub. And there is no graceful way to clean a bathtub.

Laundry is the bane of my existence. Seriously. I.Hate.It!!! Just thinking about it right now stresses me out. It's like it never ends and I fear the day we actually have children and I then have to wash and fold their laundry, as well.

@littlemissmango: haha...you just completely cracked me up with your description of washing silverware.

Hmmmm...I really, really loathe cleaning the bathroom. And specifically the tub. I will admit that I let it go way to long between scrubbings. Next would be dusting...really don't enjoy it. You dust, and the next day it's all back. Where does all that crap come from anyway???

Oh, and folding laundry? Hate it! Sorting and actually washing are fine, it's the folding and hanging that drives me batty. I'm the one who will leave a load in the dryer and just keep fluffing it when I need something out of it. Awesome, I know.

Toss up between dishes and yardwork.  When we bought our house that was the one thing I told FH, I don't do yard work but you will never have to clean a toilet.  I am so sick of doing the dishes, the last year we go through so many dishes and no one else can load them in correctly.

mopping/sweeping the floors or cleaning the bathroom.  I go way to long between cleans for both!  eak.  I hate cleaning the floors since they get dirty right again since I'm constantly cooking big meals from scratch - usually involving flour - it get's everywhere!  Also I never clean the shower or tub.  I just don't.  Our's really isn't that dirty, I mean I probably should, atleast once before we move, but it's not a priority.  It looks clean and smells clean so what's the big deal?  I want one of those automated shower cleaners - anyone know if they work?

I am weird and have a fetish for vacuuming.  loooove it!

But the one that I hate doing and will put off for ever is putting away clean, folded laundry. I have no issues doing laundry and in fact, quite like it, but just please don't make me put it away.  Same goes for hanging up my work clothes at the end of the day.

i voted taking the trash out, though that's become hubby's job ;) but then, probably dishes is next, though we have a dishwasher it isn't terrible (i didn't have one for 2 years and that was so much worse!). for some reason it always hurts my back to lean over the sink if there are too many to wash...usually hubs does the kitchen stuff though, since that's his domain, and i clean the other rooms. he hates dusting and organizing, so that's all me. and he doesn't know how to clean the bathroom even though i've shown him many times...lol, i wonder if that's on purpose? ;) laundry was his job too since he's picky about how his things are folded and obsessed with wrinkles, but we don't have laundry in our building so he takes it to a wash and fold service, it's too heavy for me to carry usually.

You know when you (but really, its never you), your husband/finace or child forgets to take their lunch box out for the holiday or any kind of container skipps its due to be washed date- my mom would probably kill me if she knew- but I just throw them out and pretend that particular container never existed. :) thats how much I hate washing 'over due' dishes.

Laundry is the worst!!! It seems like I never get all our clothes put away and as soon as I think I'm done there's more to do.  In fact there are two baskets of laundry waiting to be folded staring at me right now.

Laundry hands down. I actually have 2 piles of towels on the floor waiting for me to wash them, but I hate it so much I can't bring myself to do it. I'll do dishes all day long, even without a dishwasher. It's very relaxing to me for some reason. I don't enjoy dusting, but FI doesn't mind doing it so he dusts and vacuums while I clean the kitchen and bathrooms Sunday mornings. It works perfectly for us.

I hate doing the dishes.  I just don't like getting my hands wet -(weird, I know).  I wait until I absolutely have to do them!  I also don't like getting my hands all covered with nasty food.

I LOVE yard work, I can't wait until I have a yard.  Any excuse to be outside is a good one for me.  I also don't mind any real cleaning- other than the dishes, they just get dirty again immediately- but I like doing other cleaning, it feels good to me.  I also have a laundry room so I don't mind doing laundry at all.  It takes an hour so you can do something else, get the stuff out, and then you are done (I hang dry everything in my laundry room).

thats the problem with a house, theres ALWAYS something to clean. kind of annoying actually cause you never really get a nice end result.

I HATE cleaning the bathroom especially the showers or tubs.. just the scrubing the chemicals that pretty much punch you in the face cause they're so toxic and strong smelling. I don't mind dishes cause up till 21 I've always had to do them by hand and never a dishwasher. I dont mind laundry however I do hate putting them away. I love vaccuming, hate dusting. Thankfully my FI is a neat freak so if I didn't tidy something up he will.. which is nice.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates doing laundry.  Well folding it and putting it away.  Usually I end up leaving the clean clothes in a pile in the laundry room and throwing them back in the dryer to "iron".  Classy, I know.  It doesn't help that our bedroom is on the 2nd floor and laundry in the basement.
