Ezra makes me think of Yzma, the antagonist from The Emperor’s New Groove. Mireia makes me think of Mirena the birth control. So I don’t like those, sorry!

I like Julian and Mariel. Julian is a friend of mine, and I had a babysitter (~5 years older than me) named Mariel and I liked her.

Most of these are pretty “out there” for me, though.

I love the name Ezra, I have a friend by that name and he’s super intelligent.

Judah, not a fan. All I think of with that name is one of the twelve tribes of Israel.

Also love Margaux, so French sounding.

    @moonadea:  My picks:

    Eliot

    Julian

    Leona

    Margaux

When I hear the name Ezra I always think about the super creepy teacher from “Pretty Little Liars,” who has relationships with students and may be a complete psychopath. Sorry!

I do really like the four I mentioned above though. Eliot and Julian and such classic sounding names, I feel like they would sound nice paired with anything. Leona and Margaux are really beautiful as well.

@tksjewelry:  I also think of Judah in a strictly Biblical context, but I kind of like it!

I also like Julian, but I think it may be a little too popular for my taste. Asher is also a fav– it’s recognizable without being super used.

Not a fan of the boys names. They sound either weird or girly to me. The only ones that really sound like a name to me are Eliot (but it reminds me of a really nerdy kid I knew growing up) and Julian (but it reminds me of a salad). I’m not really a fan of any of the girls names either, sorry!

@moonadea:  Eliot, Julian, Leona, Elodie… lol woman, are you eavesdropping on my baby name conversations?

    T. S. Eliot is my favorite poet (DH’s too) so we are considering that. Julian and Leona are high on our list because fun and Roman-inspired (DH was a classics major). And Elodie is just plain cute – an acquaintance recently gave her daughter that name.

Oh, and I also like Julian because of Julian Bashir on Deep Space Nine (trekkie here, haha).

ELODIE!!! Where I’m from people look at me crazy when I suggest that name but I love it.

I’m not a fan of most of them but love the name Margeaux….but only if it is spelled Margot.
