My FI just informed me that we had two wedding crashers at our reception.  Our reception was held on a boat, and when we went out to the deck for dancing apparently there was already a couple out there and they just decided to stay at our reception.

But...that's not what really bothers me.  What pisses me off is that the woman had the nerve to go up to my DJ and make a song request!  Apparently she requested a Kings of Leon song (not that I dislike them, but is that really a good song to be played for dancing at a wedding???!!).  I remember the song being played and thinking that it was a poor choice...and now that I know it's due to a request from some stupid woman who WAS NOT EVEN A GUEST at my wedding, I'm so irritated!

Seriously, what is wrong with people???  I can't believe she did that!

Wow, that is crazy, people have some cojones!  In a weird sort of way though, you have to admit it is sort of funny!

I might think it was amusing IF there wasn't an open bar they were taking advantage of (I hope there wasn't!) and she hadn't requested a song.

Otherwise, if they were just dancing incognito, it just makes for a story to say you had crashers.

    Sorry you're upset though!

I would be more upset about the Kings of Leon song.  The singer's voice makes my head hurt.

It's a shame someone had to crash, but at least you didn't notice until after it was over!  I'm glad it didn't ruin your fun.

That is so rude! I'm assuming that they didn't get dinner or anything, so that they didn't cost you anything, or did they? Anyway I can't believe she had the balls to request a song!

Stuff like that really bothers me, even if I know it doesn't matter--it's like I can't stand it when someone thinks that have just pulled one over on me, and gotten away with it. That would bother me after the fact too. But obviously you had the kind of awesome fun wedding that makes strangers want to crash it, so that's good I guess?

They weren't at the dinner, thank god.  The dinner was held in a separate room inside the boat (which is turned into a whole restaurant).  But once we moved everything out to the deck after dinner, I guess they were restaurant patrons who happened to be out on the deck.

We had a full open bar out there, so it wouldn't surprise me if they had gotten free drinks.  I don't think I would have really cared about them being there or taking drinks, but the fact that she requested some crappy song during my already short 2-hour dancing time, really pisses me off.

Not surprising though... people are downright awful.  It's too bad that you didn't realize it at the time you could have pushed her over the edge!!!

I'm sorry you're upset but at least you know your wedding was good enough to have some wedding crashers, now how many people can say that!

You know what? We had wedding crashers too! And they were one of my favorite parts :) I was flattered that they would want to come to our party instead of the OTHER wedding they were originally at (some of them were groomsmen in tuxes!!). One of my favorite memories is these random people in the soul train line and I said to FH, "Who are they?" And he just says, "Keep going!"

It's annoying that they had the nerve to request a song, but I agree with those who say - be flattered that they wanted to be at your party! I just hope they didn't take anything from your bar or buffet... I know our wedding crashers didn't, as I kept an eye on them!

Well look at it this way...if requesting a poor song was the worst thing she did you are lucky...she could have gotten into a ton of pics or something like that.  And now you have a good story to tell people about your wedding crashers!    But a side note...that was pretty rude of the couple.  I'd be pissed now too...but later you'll like the story you get(hopefully).

o wow, some ppl have alot of nerve. I cant even imagine just being like 'hey, that wedding looks fun i think ill just hang out'. Sorry this happened to you but like the above poster said, it could have been worse, not that it in anyway makes it right or legitimate.

We had the same problem! Ours was at a hotel down the shore (off season-ish) and there was a group of guys oddly overdressed for just having drinks on the lawn. They cat called at us while we did our wedding party photos, and they turned up in our WEDDING PHOTOS when the photographer posted the proofs. I know I shouldn't be so upset, but frankly, it pissed me off. Weddings are EXPENSIVE, and meant to be shared with friends and family, not obnoxious, Vince Vaughn idol worshipping mooches looking for free booze and hoping to pick off drunk female guests.
