Sorry if TMI but me and FI have day off together, were just having sex, and I found a little cyst in the left breast, it moves when I touch it, and hurt a little when I pressed on it. I got my period yesterday (and am on bc) I FREAKED, cuz I’ve never felt anything like that in/on my my breasts. I made an app w/ a doctor immediately, and am going at 3:30…my BFF works at my docs office, so she got me right in….am I completely overacting? I did a little googling, and it seems to most likely be a menustral related thing….but still, just wanted peace of mind. Any other bees ever freak after feeling something weird in their boobs?

@MUAbride2be: I have an area in my right breast that hurts like crazy and felt a little hard to my GYNO. She sent me to have an ultrasound done and it turned out to be nothing somehow. It still hurts if I press on it lightly and this was almost a year ago. It is DEFINITELY worse before/during my period but is always present. I freaked and automatically assumed breast cancer but DO NOT do that to yourself. 🙂

@MUAbride2be: You’re not alone! I’m praying right now that it’s nothing. Don’t get upset yet. This happened to me when I was like 16 or 18. I had an ultrasound of my breasts. It turns out I have very cystic breasts. They’re like oatmeal. LOL! I’m totally fine. But it definitely freaked me out at the time. I think it’s normal to be concerned. Just don’t freak out and stress yourself out over nothing.

If you are concerned about a breast cancer type of lump, usually those do not move around and are not tender. It is most likely just a cyst. Ain’t it great being a girl?

Thanks guys…on my way now 😮 let ya know when I know that I am A-ok!

I had a lump for a long time that they deemed as nothing. It was smooth and hard. When I went for my first prenatal appt I told her about it and she checked, and it is gone. Was probably just fat cells or something. Scary but hopefully yours is nothing too! Good luck!

Don’t worry yet! My mom gets breast cysts that are totally harmless. They just fill up with fluid and she goes to the doctor to get them drained if they bug her.

Hope the Doctor puts your mind at rest and that it is nothing major 🙂

I’ve never discovered one on my own, but over the years they have popped up probably a half dozen times in mammograms. (I’m in my early 50s.)
The first few times it happened I got alarmed like you. But what I’ve found is that they schedule diagnostic mammograms, sonograms and things like that. Every time I went back for follow up, the cysts had disappeared and couldn’t be found.
They’ve explained to me that cysts can be like pimples, they can just pop up and then disappear. They also can possibly be serious, so yes, you do want to have it checked out. But I think the odds are that this is going to end up being nothing.
Good luck! And good for you for paying attention to this!

I had a little lump in my breast a few years back, which turned out to be a fibroadenoma, which I guess is a kind of tumor, but it was totally benign. They removed it for my peace of mind. I think something like 90% of breast lumps are benign!

I have fibrocsytic breast disease (actually, they don’t even call it “disease” anymore because of how common it actually is!) and this sounds similar to what I experience. Mine started in my 20’s and has continued through my 30’s. I start noticing it more post ovulation and through my next period.
I was told that over-excessive caffience consumption can irritate it, but I refuse to cut my coffee…so…lumpy boobs it is! 🙂 My friend’s mother is a DR & she also has fibrocystic breasts. She said the only thing that I need to be concerned about is people questioning if my boobs are real after a certain age. Apparently fibrocystic breasts stay perkier longer… cheers to THAT! 😉
Still very smart to get it checked, but I’m sure you’re all good. Best of luck to you!

@MUAbride2be: I have had cyts before and they have always been nothing but it is way better to be safe and get them checked out! Good luck!

Yep, I’ve had 2 ultrasounds now for various lumps. One was one I found myself, immediately made an appointment with the Dr. She felt 2 lumps and sent me for an ultrasound – it was just a lump of fatty tissue. Then at my most recent physical, the Dr. felt another lump. She was fairly certain it was scar tissue from my breast reduction last year but sent me for an ultrasound to be on the safe side. Turns out it was scar tissue, one spot just kinda healed funny.
I have breast cancer on both sides of my family, so I always do monthly exams and if I feel something off I’m in the doctor’s office asap. And fortunately my Doctor has no problem getting me in to see whoever if she also feels something too.

Thank you all for taking the time to comment! Left the docs a few hours ago, he felt the hard spot in my breast and didn’t seemed too alarmed, but he ordered me to go get an ultrasound, the soonest I can go is on Tuesday, so…I’ll keep ya’ll posted 😉

i used to get a cyst on my left breast every month for about a year maybe? it was big and it hurt and as soon as i’d start my period it would start shrinking away. it stopped coming back once i went on depo provera and even after i went off of it, it never came back.
i’m sure iyou have nothing to worry about 🙂
