& it's off of 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Which is also right next to Watercolor, Watersound, Seagrove Beach, etc. I went to a place called Salon Twist & the girl there was awesome!! I had a very vauge idea about what I wanted to do with my hair, but she played with it just a little bit & we agreed a simple do would work, probably half up :)

But she said for a shampoo, condition, & style it would be close to $85.00. Is that reasonable?! I just hate spending that much on a style...but I guess it IS for your wedding day. I only spend $50.00 to get my hair colored! How much are you ladies expecting to pay, or how much DID you pay?

But let me say this - I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED!! :) My wedding day is getting so close!!!

Well for a wedding they know they can hike up the price!  My wedding hairstyle will be costing me $85 and that doesn't include a wash.  Just bare bones, its kinda sucky!  But you do what ya gotta do right?

I thought I'd end up saving money because things in Upstate NY are usually less expensive than down here in NYC but so far, it hasn't really been a huge difference.

PS.  I wish I paid $50 for a color.  Mine is "reasonable" here at $130- yikes!

@jennifer...well sounds like I'm getting a deal then compared to what you're getting for no wash! Dang girl, & I used to pay about $150 for hair but I found a friend who does it for me for $50, thank goodness!! Thanks for the info girl!

$50 for a color? I am seething with envy! My salon starts at $77 for single process and just goes up from there. A cut is about $50. So I think you're getting a steal!

i dont think thats too bad, is she helping put your veil in or anything?  usually just the term "bridal updo" makes the price jump anyway.  were you happy w/it?  if you're really happy w/it i would probably stick w/her, but maybe thats b/c i've paid for a few bad experiences in the past!  any pics??

    @lilyfaith- i know right, i WISH my color costs $50 :o)

I think that seems pretty in line with what I have seen.  You might not want to wash your hair if you are going to have an updo, because they stay better if your hair isn't cleaned the day of.

@MissAsB: I'm not doing a complete up-do, MAYBE half up if not all the way down, so I reallly want to get my hair washed...it always looks SO much better after the salon washes & dries my hair. & it smells good too :)

Thanks ladies! Yeah, I am getting a good deal on the color, although it's a different girl who colors my hair than who's going to be doing my style the wedding day! I'm starting to think $85 isn't too bad.

85 isn't bad at all! And... well, I don't have to worry about how much my color costs cause I don't color my hair, lol.

Mine will end up being around $30 for my half up-do.  I am lucky enough to have known my hairdresser for years and she has REALLY great prices and does amazing work.  However, compared to the 'norm', I don't think $85 is too bad.  Especially if you want to get a wash.

Congrats on the close wedding date!!  Mine is 4 months from today!

@Soon2beeMrs.V: Wow, $35!!! That's how much my friend spent on hers, I'm not sure if she got a wash or not though. But she also knew her hairdresser for YEARS, too.

Thanks girl!! Yours is getting close too!! I didn't *really* start buckling down for the wedding until about 3 months till! It's SO exciting!

that seems like a good price.  but i thought you weren't supposed to shampoo and wash your hair on the day of your wedding.  It always helps more to have day old hair when they are styling it, it will have more grab and hold then.

Sounds about right for me Lees: I have recently been quoted $300 for a lady to come and do airbrush makeup and hair at my house, and do a trial beforehand. I'm thinking that might be inline with the prices I see - $85 for the hair each time and $65 for the makeup each time.

Damn $50 for color is awesome...in CA its like $150!  I was able to have my hair washed, blow dryed, curled and veil placed in plus my MOH for like $125, a steal out here! Needless to say we were very pleased!  Pic of my MOH and I!  But that did NOT include travel...we got our hair done at the salon, most hair dresses wanted $100 to travel to my venue on a Sunday and it was like 1/2 an hour away!  PS if your stylist uses the right products, you don't need dirty hair to keep the style on your wedding day!

My mom is a cosmetologist in a tiny rural town in Illinois. "Updos" (or styling) are $40, but that is without washing and drying.

****TIP***** You hair will stay in place WAY better if you DO NOT wash the day of!!!! Wash the morning BEFORE for the best results.

Mom says so and she's got 25 years of experience ;)

My hair is absolutely horrid if I leave it a day without washing it.. :S theres no way I am not washing my hair. Ive been blessed to have my hairdresser as a bridesmaid and shes agreed to do it for me, as well as the other girls. So thats exciting.

I just have to find a makeup person. Im a bit worried because ive seen what the ladies do in my town with makeup.. it makes you look orange. :S

    Good luck lee!!

I'm not married yet but I remember back in highschool for prom(I had a formal half-up style) my hair cost $40 to get it styled at a Paul Mitchell school, but that was prom though.  From the other bees though it sounds like $85 isn't too bad.

In real life I should be paying close to or over a hundred dollars to get my hair done because it's both long and thick however, I'll probably only pay right around $65 for it because I've known beautician practically all of my life.
