Ok ladies! I got a wonderful Christmas proposal and beautiful ring. But I need a little help to love it, I think. My guy spent many many hours in deliberation about the setting and I love that he did so. And the ring is gorgeous! But I’m just not, Idk, loving it. It does need to be sized down, as the solitaire is *really* top heavy, and there are a couple other issues, mainly concerning those little rose gold stems.
Do I go ahead and just feel blessed and happy because of all the time (and money!) spent on this sparkler? Or do I speak up and say it could be tweaked just a little better. I don’t want to be or sound ungrateful because I’m really not!!!!
And I know that if down the road I wanted to change out my setting I could. So help girls! And I apologize about the huge picture, this is my first post here. I’ll figure out how to resize.

@Sunshine_icicles: First of all – WELCOME!
I think it’s a gorgeous ring! Before you make any decisions about it, I would wear it for a little bit, you’ve had it for 3 days – look at it, love it, appreciate it – if you still don’t love it after a month (and after it’s been sized) then consider making changes. Remember that you’ll have a wedding band to go with it too – that can change the look of the ring as well!

I also think it’s gorgeous.

@Sunshine_icicles: I think it’s really pretty!! I also love that its unique. I agree you should wear it for a while. Also agree that a wedding band can really change the look so maybe try it on with some? What specifically is bothering you the most? It’s possible that its a really simple fix– if it’s still bothering you you can always inquire when you get it resized!

I think your ring is beautiful and unique! I actually really like the rose gold stems. I think that once it is sized and it fits you better it will be like a new ring! See how it feels after it gets sized. That can make all the difference! And congratulations!!!

I think it is really unique and I like it a lot. But you have to. i agree, wear it a bit before suggesting changing it since he spent a lot of time picking it out. You might come to love it.

@Sunshine_icicles: Speak up soon, especially because he might be able to return the setting if it is still within its warranty. Just ASK him if he’d be okay with it. He can’t fault you for not having the exact same taste as him. If he says no, be prepared to live with it though.

I love the fact that he designed it and spent so much time trying to get me something that both fit my personality and that I’d love to wear.
Its a very high mounting. Very tall. And then if you look closely, the rose gold stems have some white gold peeking though where they meet the main band. I feel like crap that I’m picking out the idiosyncrasies of this pretty pretty ring.
Its currently a size 6, I think I need a 5.5 or a 5.25.

@Sunshine_icicles: I’m sorry you don’t “love” it right now, that’s too bad. I know it isn’t worth much, but I really like your ring! I think your FI has great taste if he picked it out alone. But I totally understand wanting to love your ring! I love mine, so can’t judge when other ladies want to feel the same way. Best of luck on whatever you decide to do in this situation.

I really think it’s pretty.

What about getting the rose gold dipped white?

wow….I think it’s amazing!!! My e-ring sits up high too….I think I agree with some other posters….you have only had it a couple days. Get it sized and I bet it will feel more comfortable.

It is freaking stunning. There, did that help? 🙂

I love it! The top heavy thing can be irritating, but have your finger sized a few times and make sure you order it down to the right size and that will help the spinning. I also agree with the PPs who mentioned a wedding band changing the look and feel of it.
