People LOVE weddings, I have learned the art of smiling and nodding when it comes to wedding advice. Oh and the phrase, "I will talk about it with FI" has become quite a frequent addition to my vocabulary. Everyone will have advice or suggestions for you and while it does get annoying you will be surprised to find that you will be given little gems of advice mixed in with all of the other fluff. Keep your ears and mind open and just remember, they all love you and just want to help.

Hello there! I just formally got engaged two days ago. The response has been lovely, but I can't help but feel a bit overwhelmed by people making loads of suggestions already. You know, like:
- You should totally let my friend bake! She's an amazing baker! Only she lives on the other side of the country...
-Oooooh, I can get you a great deal on wedding jewellery etc etc
They are doing it because they love me and are excited for me... but did anyone else find it just a teeny bit... scary? This wedding thing is like a machine, sucking up otherwise logical people and making them obsess over invites etc. My poor FI is already terrified because I mentioned things which had not occurred to him, like "engagement photos" and "videography". He keeps mumbling things in a dazed way like "oh God, what have I done... she's going to turn into a crazy Bridezilla on me", and shuffling around with a sort of glazed expression on his face.
Anyone else feel the same?
