Well…I’m engaged! My fiance completely surprised me by proposing with a ring that has been in his family for four generations. I had no idea they even had heirlooms. The longer I have it, the more I love it! The sparkle is incredible, and it’s so unique.
After some research, I’m pretty sure it’s Edwardian (turn of the century) because of the style, thin platinum band and the delicate, lace-like baguette diamonds. It’s so awesome having something so meaningful…I’m just so honored. Just thought I’d share! 🙂

@memleyxx: It looks Edwardian to me (I’ve got one, too) but it’s an unusual one.
They did use a lot of platinum back at that time, and the bezel settings surrounded by pave–very period. I haven’t seen Marquis shapes set East-West in an Edwardian ring. That is very cool.
