So they havent really given me any days for the past two weeks ad today my boss called me into work to “talk” to her. When I got there, both my bosses were in the back. They “talked” to me all confrontational and made me feel like I was two feet tall.
They told me that they wanted to keep me on until after my shower. (Which was Sunday) But they couldnt keep me on till the wedding. They said the sales have decreased and they werent expecting it to do that. (Plus its a small family owned business and we got robbed, they stole 5k, so im sure that didnt help)
I’m just really upset. I cant look for a job until after the wedding. I am just a wreck. ):

I’m really sorry this happened to you, I couldn’t imagine getting fired mid-planning. It’s understandable if they have to lay you off if sales aren’t as expected, but firing you – you’ll have trouble even collecting unemployment! Why would they do that? And they shouldn’t be hurting from the $5k that was stolen, their insurance should cover that!
Again, really sorry 🙁

Aww, so sorry!
It might be worthwhile to look if you have some time, but be clear about start dates if you find any that you like!

I’m so sorry hon, losing a job is devastating (happened to me 1.5 yrs ago). Take a few days for yourself, try to clear your head and relax. Remember you have a FI who loves you and your wedding is just around the corner. You can start looking to see what jobs are out there and then you’ll be prepared to apply once the wedding is over. Don’t let this get you down, you will get through it and be stronger for it. Best of luck to you <3

I would still try to collect employment. If they don’t have documentation outlining a sequence of “write ups” or disciplinary action, in some states you would be eligible. If they told you it was because of slow business that’s a permanent layoff and that would qualify. It’s worth a try.
I’m sorry this is happening to you right now, the timing sucks yet n another way you have more time to focus on your wedding.

Oh noo. I’m so sorry to hear that! Definitely try and get some unemployment. It’ll ease a lot of your fears right now.
An uplifting story – My friend was let go from her job a few months before her wedding. They were freaking out at first. But then they realized that they could still make it all work it just took some tweaking. He doesn’t make a fortune, and she couldn’t get unemployment (long story) but they had a gorgeous wedding just a couple weeks ago. You can make it work!

@out4answers: Bummers. DH just got laid off on Friday. He was working for a small business and they just said they can’t meet their overhead. Try to take care of yourself and then get back out there, it will be okay. I hate it that they don’t give any notice… they just kick you out on the street :/
